Scott McClellan’s Former Deputy Calls Him Out As A Liar

From an open letter posted in the Washington Post:

Dear Scott,
Since you’re not answering my e-mails anymore, I’m writing to pose a few questions that haven’t been asked on your truth, honesty and candor tour:
· Was it the truth or a lie when you told me, during a series of personal discussions in your West Wing office in late 2005 and early 2006 (at the apex of what you now call your period of “disillusionment” and “dismay”), that you were happy in your job and proud to serve President Bush and that you had no intention of leaving soon? What about in April 2006, when rumors swirled about a change at the podium, and you again told me you wanted to stay?
· Was it the truth or a lie when you told me around Christmas that the excerpts released by your publisher were being “taken out of context” and that your book wasn’t going to be a hatchet job?
· Was it the truth or a lie when you assured your former deputies that you wanted our “full participation” in the book?
· Was it the truth or a lie when, after countless briefings, you complained that the White House press corps was too tough, unfair, over the top and didn’t get it?
· And, finally, you like Barack Obama’s message and don’t know if you’re a Republican?

Read the whole thing.

Hope Scotty saved those 30 silver pieces for a rainy day, cause he is already getting wet from all the holes in his umbrella.

When you cant attack the message……

  • Bat One

I’ve read enough books on various American presidents to know that each man has his own management style, his own way of organizing and structuring the processes by which he is informed, makes decisions, and keeps the executive branch of government functioning. But I have yet to read of any president whose press secretary or spokesman was an intimate participant in the discussions and decisions Scott McClellan apparently claims to have been.

Fact is, most presidential spokespersons are something of an administration afterthought, and their most consistent complaint is that they are kept at arm’s length with nowhere near the access they would like to have.

Perhaps one day Karl Rove will write a book, as will Andy Card, Karen Hughes, and maybe both Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney. In the meantime, I’ll reserve judgment… and not buy the McClellan book.

  • Hannitized

Another fact is that we didn’t see Clinton administration figures jump ship like this and accuse him of the same types of criticisms.

The fact is that this President led us into an unnecessary war. All indications are that he did this intentionally and for the purposes that don’t have anything to do with WMD’s. The conservatives are having a hard time to understand that their Messiah is getting the criticisms from so many high profile figures that he worked with. This president is going down as the worst president and leader since caligula, and they still aren’t willing to admit it.

So, you either have read the pamphlet in question, or had a hand in writing it, because your comment reads like the teaser issued by the publisher.

    Again, what message?

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

I know words are difficult for you to understand.

I’m amazed at how easily lying comes to you! Very good!

Under what insane line of reasoning does anything in your video… represent anything close to mainstream conservatism?

My sentence wasn’t so much a defense of Kenny as it was a vain attempt to bring some meaning to your conversation and apply it to the real world.
But, continue playing with yourself and your little videos. Come back sometime if you want to engage in meaningful conversation

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

    Ooh! Look! Hannitized! Shiny!!!! Heh.

Anything to distract from the topic, eh, Han-job?
Gave up trying to win that argument, too?

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

    Yes I have….and here you go…..again.

Han-job, you’re pathetic! Under what insane line of reasoning does anything in your video (posted by a “left wing tool“, no doubt according to the reasoning skills of another dolt!) represent anything close to mainstream conservatism?

Your evidentiary skills are not in evidence! Heh.

    “Liberals” love Saddam.

That’s right. I sleep with a Raggedy Saddam Doll every night. There is also a poster of him in my office.

They believe that it was “unnecessary” to take him out.

Who are you talking about? All the ex administration officials, like Scott McClellan, Colin Powell or many others that ran from the Bush crazy train?

Now don’t question their patriotism. They get upset when one points out that they consistently take anti-American positions.

You don’t have the intelligence to insult me effectively. You couldn’t put an intelligent argument together if it came in a three part, cardboard puzzle form.

    Still waiting.

  • Kansasgirl

Heh Hannitized. You forget one thing. Your liberal press no longer as a monopoly. Your party is going down, you can bank on that. You couldn’t hold a candle to this adminstration. Remember, you’ve already tried, and failed. Also, Jimmy Carter was a clueless President, and a buffoon. So keep rambling on if it makes you feel better.

Bush was a meh president. No conservative has ever looked at him as savior. And he was nowhere as near as bad as either Clinton or Carter.

The war wasn’t a lie and it was indeed about WMDs, no matter how much worthless liberals wish to lie about it after the fact.

Bush will be remembered as a good President. And deservedly so.

  • patriot

Hannitized: We’ve already had “the worst” President. As Kansas Girl says, it was Jimmy Carter; and your man Obama is running for Carter’s second term.

  • Hannitized

No conservative has ever looked at him as savior.

That was a LIE….or just outright ignorance. Take your pick.

And he was nowhere as near as bad as either Clinton or Carter.

The polls suggest otherwise…..by a mile.

The war wasn’t a lie and it was indeed about WMDs, no matter how much worthless liberals wish to lie about it after the fact.

    Or Republicans, you meant? Right?

Bush will be remembered as a good President. And deservedly so.

Yes, now do some warfare over him: “Ada baka shika katamoka tela sa bahaia”

Don’t forget he has surrounded himself with spirit filled people.

  • Hannitized

Your liberal press no longer as a monopoly. Your party is going down, you can bank on that.

Is that why you elected a Democratic nominee as your Candidate for the Conservative party? Because the conservative line is so desired by the American people? Heh!

You couldn’t hold a candle to this adminstration.

Wow, impressive retort. Did you think of that yourself?

Remember, you’ve already tried, and failed. Also, Jimmy Carter was a clueless President, and a buffoon. So keep rambling on if it makes you feel better.

Blah, blah, blah….Nixon was the worst president in the history of the US,….until Bush came along. I hope your proud.

  • 2Hotel9

sanni, perhaps you would like to prove that conservatives “saw” Bush as a “savior”? You have not done so yet.

  • Tuna

Hanatized, you seem to have fogotten that your bunch–Nancy, Harry, Hilly and all the usual suspects–had their war panties on in late ’02–or that Bill Clinton endorsed “regime change” back in in 1998 because he was certain WMD’s were present and that Saddam was a strategic threat to the US? Regime change–good concept–how does one make that happen?

In fairness to you, I will grant you that this bunch, despite openly acknowledging that Saddam was a bad fellow and a threat, would never have taken any meaningful action–all they did, and continue to do, is chatter, which is what created the problem in the first place. Bush, not much of a talker, but clearly a doer has done what needed to be done. It must be particularly galling now that he has succeded–losing fewer troops in the process than Jay Rock said we’d lose on the way to Baghdad.

As for the worst president–Carter’s a lock. Obama, if we are unfortunate enough to be stuck with this jug eared nitwit for 4 years, will make W look like Winston Churchill by the end of his first year in office.

And what “message” is scotty conveying?

  • Hannitized

Under what insane line of reasoning does anything in your video… represent anything close to mainstream conservatism?

    Hey Phoof,

Care to show me anywhere in the challenge where the word mainstream was used? Hint: There wasn’t any.

Take a look at Kenny’s statement.

Bush was a meh president. No conservative has ever looked at him as savior. And he was nowhere as near as bad as either Clinton or Carter.

Sorry Proof, I know words are difficult for you to understand.

  • Hannitized

Worshipping a 6ft cardboard cut out of Bush and praying to it doesn’t come across as worship to you Hotel?

    What a waste, you are.

  • 2Hotel9

Once again, sanni, would you care to provide proof that conservatives “saw” Bush as a “savior”? We will await your devastatingly clever horseshit with bated breath.

    Kenny,

Any desire to retract that statement that no Conservative looked at Bush as a savior?
