Scientist: Global Warming Critics Have Been Blackmailed And Bullied

Climate researcher Eduardo Zorita calls for an exclusion of the scientists caught up in the climategate scandal from future work on the IPCC’s climate change initiatives. And he also indicates that this statement will likely earn him more of the bullying and blackmail global warming skeptics have been victims of for years now.
The same sort of bullying and blackmail alluded to in the emails at the heart of this scandal.

By writing these lines I will just probably achieve that a few of my future studies will, again, not see the light of publication. My area of research happens to be the climate of the past millennia, where I think I am appreciated by other climate-research ‘soldiers’….
I may confirm what has been written in other places: research in some areas of climate science has been and is full of machination, conspiracies, and collusion, as any reader can interpret from the CRU-files. They depict a realistic, I would say even harmless, picture of what the real research in the area of the climate of the past millennium has been in the last years. The scientific debate has been in many instances hijacked to advance other agendas.
These words do not mean that I think anthropogenic climate change is a hoax. On the contrary, it is a question which we have to be very well aware of. But I am also aware that in this thick atmosphere -and I am not speaking of greenhouse gases now- editors, reviewers and authors of alternative studies, analysis, interpretations, even based on the same data we have at our disposal, have been bullied and subtly blackmailed. In this atmosphere, Ph D students are often tempted to tweak their data so as to fit the ‘politically correct picture’. Some, or many issues, about climate change are still not well known. Policy makers should be aware of the attempts to hide these uncertainties under a unified picture. I had the ‘pleasure’ to experience all this in my area of research.

What Zorita describes is reminiscent of medieval struggles between science and religion. Only in this instance scientists aren’t tweaking their data and keeping their criticisms to themselves to comply with religious edicts but rather political edicts.
Al Gore and other powerful political entities declared this debate over human-caused global warming to be closed with the only question being how much liberty and how many tax dollars to be seized from the public to protect them from this threat. Anyone questioning this has been ostracized has, well, a heretic.
People aren’t being burned a the stake for questioning this phony “scientific consensus” and the political power and money grabs that go along with it, but they are being personally attacked. Their careers are being ruined. And that’s wrong.

    global warming alarmists are terrorists.

    Ha!
Looks like I posted this before it got COMPLETELY OBVIOUS what a frikkin’ leftis Moby PLANT you are.
Guess you got over on me there, Moby.

How many “climate scientists” does it take to change a lightbulb?

The boba who also cried wolf:
“This is typical Nazi like censorship.”
No, boba, it’s not. The Nazis didn’t stop with censoring publications they didn’t like; they went ahead on and shot the publishers, editors, writers, reporters, photographers, etc.
It’s evil and stupid and wrong, but less evil and wrong than the Nazis. Maybe not less stupid.
    Perspective, maintain some, it matters.

    The ingemar who cried wolf:
    “global warming alarmists are terrorists.”

No. They’re charlatans and con-men and extortionists.
“Terrorists” actually blow stuff up and shoot civilians and otherwise act as a threat to public safety.
G.W.Alarmists will be content to IMPOVERISH everybody, everywhere, essentially turning all of Western Civilization into a post-rennaissance, pre-industrial squat hole.
Terrorists actually want to kill enough people to cow the rest into submission, essentially turning all of Western Civilization into Gaza.
A subtle hair-splitting difference? No. The latter bad outcome out-sucks the former by a factor of at least a hundred.
In other words, words mean things.
