Scarlett Johannson Is Like, The Most Socially Conscious Person Evah!

She’s so smart because she hates Bush and gets tested for HIV twice a year!

SCARLETT JOHANSSON has slammed US PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH for his staunch conservative views on sex, criticising the Republican for being too unrealistic in his opinions on the topic. The LOST IN TRANSLATION movie star last month (10OCT06) boasted about being so “socially aware” she gets tested for HIV twice a year. A staunch Christian, Bush is vehemently anti-abortion and is seeking to have the operation made illegal in all US states. During his time as Governor of Texas, Bush overhauled the state’s sex education system and high school students were taught abstinence was the only way to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Johansson says, “We are supposed to be liberated in America but if our President had his way, we wouldn’t be educated about sex at all. “Every woman would have six children and we wouldn’t be able to have abortions.”

I don’t think I’ll ever understand why liberals get so angry at the idea that abstinence is the best way to protect yourself from STD’s and unwanted pregnancy. It is the only method out there that is 100% effective, and I really don’t see why people get so upset at the idea of teaching our kids to abstain from sex until they are in a long-term, committed relationship. It’s just plain common sense, but some of these people act like if we’re not handing our boxes of condoms and bottles of lube in our schools it’s going to be the end of the world.
And getting tested for HIV twice a year makes you socially conscious? Where I’m from that just makes you a slut.
Oh well, at least she’s still got that awesome rack going for her.

image

She’s going to need it, given the level of intellect she’s put on display here.
Update: Mary Katharine Ham:

Uhh, no, Scarlett. Six children or abortion? You do realize there’s a third option, right? Who was your sex-ed teacher, girl? Laura Bush???
See, Scarlett, the thing is that’s not what would happen at all. Note that the Bushes themselves managed, somehow, someway, to only have two children, despite being conservative and, hence, completely ignorant of safe-sex practices and contraceptives. Amazing!

Name-calling is fun, but it doesn’t really help your side.

Name calling is fun (like sex ?) and shouldn’t be indulged in without restraint? Now I think you are arguing against yourself.

And if you wish to be accurate, I called you no name. I said:

I think Dave just assumes that everyone his age practices safe sex because he knows where his hand has been!

Deftly implying something, but calling no names.

You want me to answer your point? You did not answer mine!
    I sarcastically noted:

Yeah! Right! Horny teenagers with hormones flowing and little experience with mortality…they are the MOST careful people on the planet! That’s why insurance rates are SO much lower for young adult males!

You said nothing to address the irresponsibility of adolescent males, or adolescents in general.

I realize that many times you like to bait your opponents with nonsense and non-sequitors. In fact, one might say you are a Master baiter. But your sophomoric debating skills are inadequate to overcome the lameness of your logic.

  • Dave_Comet

Yeah! Right! Horny teenagers with hormones flowing and little experience with mortality…they are the MOST careful people on the planet! That’s why insurance rates are SO much lower for young adult males!

It’s a simple fact that single teens are more likely to use condoms than single adults.

    You have no facts.

Dave: I clicked on your link above. Your facts are taken from a survey, where:

Respondents received $10 for participating in the study.

And NOBODY ever lies on a survey! (That’s why exit polls are so reliable.)

Do teenagers ever lie about sex? (Duh!) If they’d lie about sex, would they lie about using a condom??? For cash??? Hell, Dave, with facts like those you could go into the simple fact business! (Emphasis on simple! )

I have no facts? You have no credibility!

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

Single teenagers with multiple sex partners are much more likely than single adults to practice safe sex.

Yeah! Right! Horny teenagers with hormones flowing and little experience with mortality…they are the MOST careful people on the planet! That’s why insurance rates are SO much lower for young adult males!

Oh and I’m SO sure that Laura and George were virgins on their wedding night, too. But hey, that’s the best course of action, right ? Do as I say, not as I do. That usually works out well, doesn’t it ?

    Thanks Hood!!

BTW-can anybody recall 26 people being shot and killed while playing baseball?

According to libs abstinence is to lofty and virtuous to be a realistic goal. We need to aim lower, like the animal kingdom. Do whoever and whatever whenever you like and just get tested for aids twice a year.

How about teaching abstinence as a 100% full-proof way to avoide STD’s and pregnancy. Then also provide the success and failure rates of condemns without giving them to teens. This way they are encouraged to follow the best path, but have the knowledge to avoid disaster should they choose to bahave like
    Scarlett.

It’s because sex is fun and pleasurable. I believe it’s wrong to tell people they shouldn’t engage in activities that increase their happiness–then again, I’m not a socialist.

Single teenagers with multiple sex partners are much more likely than single adults to practice safe sex. They’re smart enough to figure this out. Sex is fun–they seem to like it–and we don’t really benefit by hiding them from it. Teens who practice safe sex turn into adults who practice safe sex.

    HG,

I beg to differ with you, Sir. Libs know nothing about lofty or virtue. They are, instead, terrified of the notion that there actually are such principles as right and wrong. After all, today’s libs are merely yesterday’s hippies grown older and less virile. They have much the same regard for morals today as they had for soap 35 years ago.

Teens think rebellion, drinking, loitering, racing cars through the middle of town, car surfing, fighting, and many other irresponsible behaviors are fun and pleasurable. So should we stop telling them not to engage in these activities just because they are fun and pleasurable?

  • http://angrychad.blogspot.com/ Chad

I wouldn’t. The goal here is to keep teens safe, and preferably not having kids while they’re still trying to get their own lives sorted out. Despite what some people think, telling teens not to have sex isn’t the way to do that.

  • http://angrychad.blogspot.com/ Chad

Abstinence only programs have proven to be huge failures over and over again, so this argument is moot, but whatever.

You can tell kids not to have sex, but so far that has never worked. The problem with programs that promote abstinence is that they’re usually abstinence only, or at least downplay the effectiveness of condoms. It’s all about fear and lack of education. Teens are going to have sex no matter what you tell them, so it’s probably better to make sure they’re equipped with the knowledge and the condoms to do so safely.

  • robert108

Abstinence only programs have proven to be huge failures over and over again, so this argument is moot, but whatever.

This is a typical canard of the lefties: If something doesn’t work perfectly, we shouldn’t even try to do it.
Besides, we have created the problem with sex education in schools. Teaching abstinence benefits everyone who practices it, but it would be less necessary if we weren’t encouraging them to have sex in the first place.

  • Dave_Comet

Chad: Why would you want to tell kids not to have sex anyway?

Try this answer: It removes the govt from our lives, and makes it a matter of individual independence and individual choice. The kids who choose abstinence are free from both STDs and unwanted pregnancy, and the last thing Marxists want is unequal outcomes. Those who choose abstinence before marriage will have better and more productive lives, and the “equality of outcome” people just can’t stand that.

There’s no such thing as “safe driving” or “safe gun ownership”

Sure there is. It’s called being responsible. Accidents dont happen by themselves, cars dont drive themselves, and guns dont fire on their own.

  • Dave_Comet

There’s no such thing as “safe driving” or “safe gun ownership” either rob108. There’s always the possibility of death or injury. We have to balance the positives and the negatives of banning the act in question (and denying individual’s liberty).

  • Dave_Comet

Free: My point being, we can never completely eliminate all dangers from our actions. Robert108 said there’s no such thing as safe sex, because there’s always a chance of STDs. There’s also no such thing as safe driving, because there’s always a chance of an accident. There’s also no such thing as safe gun ownership, because there’s always a chance of a shooting death. Should we tell kids to “abstain” from driving or owning a gun? If no, then why tell them to abstain from sex?

This thread is awesome. Scarlett is hot, Rob and r108 are displaying their total naivity and divorce from reality, and Hoodlum is sticking up (no puns please) for Scarlett.
Everyone here needs to read like 5 Henry Miller (God bless his soul) novels and then report back. Repressed much? Hee hee hee. Biology anyone?
One look at Scarlett and its clear that sometimes the whole ‘do i have a condom and is she gonna have a baby?’ rationale goes out the window. I mean some chicks are hot and if you can get and end in (again no pun please) you will!
Also we all know she gets tested for STDs like twice a year and she’s probably on the pill so why not just let her have it? I would love to make Scarlett’s back curl, her ‘inner’ muscles tighten, and hear her let out one of those nice uncontrollable grunts with her eyes rolling… shit.
