Say Anything On Facebook

I don’t know how many of you out there fool around with those social websites, but if you’re on Facebook I’ve created a group for Say Anything readers. Feel free to join if that’s your sort of thing.  Not sure what I’ll be doing with it, but there it is.

I’m just getting into Facebook myself.  Not really sure what it’s good for at this point, but it’s been fun so far.  Much more fun (and useful) than, say, MySpace what with all the cheesey templates, self-shot photos and insipid “it defines me” music.

But that’s just me.

Comments

Oh wow. Now we can ‘network’. /sarcasm

You should have a Say Anything barbeque. Not that I would fly to ND for it, but it would be fun for all the locals… but you guys probably already know who each other are anyway.

I’m not hanging around Rob just now.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

I’ve only actually met two of the regulars on this blog, though one hasn’t been a regular for a while…

I think Rob hates me… I mean, just look at the pic he took of me!

How about a virtual barbecue? Maybe we could set up webcams so all the world can see us roasting chunks-o-animal and drinkin’ beer!

We could have one BBQ per state, and then web conference our scotch drinking.  (Ohio branch of Say Anything readers should not drink beer… just Johnnie Walker)

I thought Face Book only allowed college students...?  Well… after clicking on the link, I stand corrected.

No, there are a couple of creepy adults that hang around for no real reason. The site was a lot better before they allowed non-college students in, because it clearly divided your high school class into the Haves and the Have-nots...the Haves were the ones who could get into Facebook. But now everyone can.

PB, would that be Black or Red?

Well, since I can’t get Blue outta the Class Six in Korea for $85 a bottle any more (that’s a HUGE bargain for you Johnnie Walker drinkers out there), I gotta settle for Black Label… and the occasional Green Label when I’m drinking with my best friend (when his wife lets him drink! HA!).  I like the smoke flavor in JW.

I’m going to buy my uniforms tomorrow, so I’ll see what kinda deals they have at that Class Six here in the OH.

Right now I’ve got J&B in the house.  One of my coworkers got it for me as a quitting the business present.  You gotta love free scotch!

Glenlivet 18 year is my reg. Its cause my mom likes that stuff and when I was in my teens I got a taste for it skimming her bottles. When I go to Miami and do the Cuban thing, they are huge on the Johnny Walker. Scotch is the shit. Its like bourbon with vicodin mixed right in! Also ‘Aberlour’ or something like that is effing good. And the Talisker with the penned in bottle date on the label…

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll drink it, but Glenlivet has some spice flavor that doesn’t suit me.  I’ve never had Aberlour or Talisker.  Oftentimes, I find what I like, and I stick with it.  I need to change my stubborn ways.  The pursuit of new scotches could be a happy journey.

Neither did I.  The only reason I started a Facebook profile was to read someone else’s profile that was sending this blog some traffic.  I couldn’t read it unless I got my own profile.

I forgot about it for a few months, but then readers started finding me on there.  Once a half dozen people or so contacted me through it I figured I may as well fill out my profile.

What Rob doesn’t make up in Quality he makes up in Quantity.

Hey, Grain Belt is quality.

As to Scotch and Whiskey, there is a demon in me, and liquor sets it free. A hard learned lesson.

I mainly go with Miller HighLife. Though when I can find it Bass Ale really hits the spot. Amd I love Modelo Negro, a good dark beer is hard to find. Problem in flyoverystan is that most imports are skunked by the time they get here.

And I guess I will have to go checkout facebook, so as to know what y’all is talkin’ ‘bout.

Yup. Just not the next morning. Personally, two or three scotches in an evening is plenty. I would try the Aberlour first if I were you. Its cheaper, I think, and its pretty good. Its only a 10 year, but its surprisingly good. One of these days I’m going to make it up to Nova Scotia and see the only Scotch distillery in N.America. Its just really far out of the way and I can’t justify it on checking out a booze factory alone.

I do prefer bourbon though. Its sweeter and cheaper, but its more in my genes than scotch. I like me a Maker’s Mark, straight up, room temperature.

Hold the glass steadier, you’ll get less on your jeans! (And why waste good bourbon?) smile

A troll is someone who only wants to stir up trouble, not have an honest debate.  Some signs that a poster is a troll:
* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources
* When one of its arguments is shown to be false, either ignores the proof or moves the goalposts.  Heh. (From the LGF faq)

These networking sites are good for keeping track of friends no matter how many times they move. That’s about it.

Mmmm the Champagne of Beer. That’s usually what the lady and I drink.

Do they have Lionshead on your side of PA? Pretty popular over here… and very cheap. Personally, I’d stick with Highlife.

Andrew on May 24, 2007 at 06:38 am

There are several micro-brewers over here in the west. One in Foxburg is good, and consistent. There are 2 in Slippery Rock that are OK, being a college town they move quite a bit, and you can tell a bit of difference between batchs sometimes.

I have drank Lionshead when I am in DC. Its OK for a cheapy.
