Say Anything Nominated In Washington Post For Best State Political Blog

Dakota Politics and North Decoder got nominated as well.

Eventually I they’ll select a winner, I guess, and I’m thinking Say Anything will probably run away with it.  Just for the sake of comparison, here’s an Alexa traffic ranking graph listing the readership of all three sites plus two of the state’s largest newspapers (the Grand Forks Herald and the Bismarck Tribune thrown in for fun.

Its a little hard to read (Alexa really needs to work on the way they display graphs) but that blue line you see consistently on top?  That represents Say Anything.

I think we’ve got the best “North Dakota Blog” title in the bag.

Today, North Dakota. Tomorrow, the world!
Congratulations, Rob!

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

You deserve it.

I’ve thought so for some time, what’s with the Post agreeing with me? What’s that they’re holding behind their back?

To respond to Pilgrim and Samantha, I should note that I don’t take full credit for SAB’s success.  Everyone who contributes here - whether it be on the front page, on the reader blog or just in the comments - makes the blog what it is.

I write most of the posts, and I’m responsible for keeping the server hamsters in line, but outside of that the blog is what it is because of the people who contribute.

The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.

I have proselytized at WaPo for you for a couple of years. Perhaps it was my “threat” to cut them off from their coffee supply? Or endlessly wail&moaning about them not expanding their political horizons? Whatever. I’ll keep nattering at them.

When people ask me what small state/small town blog is the best, I recommend your site.

You are one of the best sites out there, doing a fantastic job of letting your readers know what’s going on in your state.

Congratulations. But, then, you earned it.

Now, where’s my health care.

Rob does that mean that Oregon Guy thinks that Minot’s a hick town?

Just googlemap it, I think it would roughly fit within the dimensions of “hick”. Roughly. Throw in the icefishing and it just might shoehorn in.

Maybe if the “You are now leaving Minot” sign wasn’t painted on the back of the “Welcome to Minot” sign? smile

Minot is a hick town.  That’s why I live here.  I’m a hick.

Congrats Rob

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

And another proud hick here! People say it like it is a bad thang.
