Say Anything Nominated For Best Conservative Blog

In the 2007 Weblog Awards.  You can see a list of all the finalists in their respective categories (best tech blog, best overall blog, etc.) here.

It’s pretty cool to be nominated (those of you who did that, thanks!).  The Weblog Awards, ran by Kevin Aylward of Wizbang, is pretty much the oldest blogosphere awards event on the internet.  There’s a ton of participation from blogs big and small, media and non-media alike.

These are the folks I’m up against in the “Best Conservative Blog” category:

# Sister Toldjah

# Right Wing News

# Ankle Biting Pundits

# Captain’s Quarters

# Michelle Malkin

# Ace of Spades HQ

# The Belmont Club

# Powerline

# Newsbusters

Being up against the likes Ed Morrisey, Michelle Malkin, the Newsbusters and the guys at Powerline pretty much means I’m not going to win.  But having Say Anything as a finalist with those other blogs is an honor in and of itself.

I’ll let everyone know when voting begins so we can try to minimize the number of votes we lose by.

I think we’re a lock to win against those guys.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

I lived in Daley’s Chicago for awhile---how many votes do you need?

How many can you give us?

Given the competition, we’ll likely need them all.

I’m definitely voting--so please don’t let me miss the vote!  This is one of the best blogs I’ve ever seen.  I know that sounds corny, but I mean it.

Way to go!!!!

BTW, my politically CONSERVATIVE music CD is the only one out there in a sea of Hollywood/Move-On garbage.

11 tracks for liberal hacks!

Prety heady company there, Rob, some of the heavy hitters, Malkin, Ace, Powerline, Captain’s Quarters....

Just being mentioned with that crew is pretty damn cool.

Way to go!

Or like they said in old Louisiana politics, - remember to vote early and often!

Oh, and before anyone gets their panties in a wad - that’s a joke.

Silly Whistler… most everyone has a wireless laptop and a car, the votes are endless, but I certainly never meant to suggest anything by that. lol

BooYa! I think you can take that little darkskinned one, though that crew at PL tend to hang together. Ace will snipe you from afar, and Cpn Ed will just drink you under. Sis is the one you got to watch, she will work those womanly wiles on ya, next thing you know it will be “Wot Happin?”

Glad to see you running with the Big Dawgs again. They may have the flash, you got the variety and dirt.

Other than the author of this blog being a paid spammer for Fred Thompson, it’s a good blog.

I am not a paid spammer for Fred Thompson.  I made a crack at Bill Mitchell for being a paid spammer for Romney (if you google his name he’s all over the place with Romney propaganda) and he didn’t take too kindly to it.

Trust me, if I took money from any campaign I’d disclose it.  And I’m pretty sure the campaign would have to disclose it as well.  I like Fred Thompson because I think he’s the best candidate.

I figure my best chance to raise some money is to let otherwise reputable candidates pay me not to endorse them.

I’m pretty sure that would be a good move for any campaign with the possible exception of Ron Paul.

Bill: You’re AWOL on every thread where you’ve made half-assed, unsubstantiated claims. (and there are more than a couple!)
Pity you ran out of thoughts long before you ran out of words!

A troll is someone who only wants to stir up trouble, not have an honest debate.  Some signs that a poster is a troll:
* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources
* When one of its arguments is shown to be false, either ignores the proof or moves the goalposts.  Heh. (From the LGF faq)

The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.
