We learned on Friday that our nation’s unemployment rate is stuck at 8.2%. That is 41 months in a row that unemployment has been over the unacceptable 8% mark.

The mostly untold story of this recent jobs report is the number 14.9%. This represents some 23 milion Americans who are either out of work, given up looking for work or work in jobs below their skill level just to make ends meet. The Labor Dept. classifies this 14.9% number as “U-6″ for those who want the official definition.

These numbers are cold. They don’t tell the human costs of having so many doing so poorly in the current economy. This is not what the American people voted for in 2008.

The election that can end this downward spiral is on 11.6.2012. Your vote matters more this year than in any election since 1860.

    Believe in America.

Plus, more people signed up for disability last month (85,000)  than found new jobs. And the disabled aren’t counted in the unemployment numbers.

Any unemployment rate over 4% is unacceptable.
