Saddam Tape Recordings May Reveal A Blockbuster

Remember those voice recordings of Saddam Hussein Congress was reviewing last week? Looks like they’re turning out to be pretty important.

(CNSNews.com) – Reportedly armed with 12 hours of Saddam Hussein’s audio recordings, the organizers of an upcoming “Intelligence Summit” are describing the tapes as the “smoking gun evidence” that the Iraqi dictator possessed weapons of mass destruction in the period leading up to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
The U.S. House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which according to the New York Sun has already authenticated the Saddam tapes, has reopened its investigation into the possible existence and location of the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction (WMD). But some long-time liberal skeptics are showing no inclination to change their minds.

I don’t see ABC running the tapes unless they know there’s something big on them. Just as I don’t think Congress would have re-opened their WMD investigation unless the tapes presented significant evidence.
Hold on to your hats folks.
Of course, the left response on this (if it all proves to be true) will be to move the goal posts. They’ll say that the existence of a WMD’s program was never the problem but rather whether or not that program was an actual threat. Which is total nonsense. After all, it requires no stretch in the imagination to think a scenario whereby Saddam could have given weapons from his program to Jihadists for the express purpose of hitting targets in America. That Saddam probably couldn’t have launched them himself is meaningless.
If a program existed, if WMD’s existed, there was a threat.

Their response would be:  "That doesn’t count".  The same response that a certain California representative had when a person pinned her down with a clear example of how the federal government has and is runining our public schools by protecting disruptors in our classrooms, calling them "disabled" and giving them SSII (social security money) for acting crazy.

Mark: The problem is, if the lefties admit any of the truth, they are then agreeing that this President is doing the right thing.  They would rather die than do that.  Ditto the MSM.

This is outrageous!  Obviously, this has all been a deliberate plot by the evil Karl Rove to hoodwink the Democrats, the MSM, and the American people.  First he allowed the Dems and the press to believe all that honestly intended campaign rhetoric about no WMDs in Iraq and the President lying about it.  Then, the White House withdrew those infamous 16 words from the President’s SOTUS, further lulling the left into believing their accusations of Presidential dishonesty.

 
Had the White House been truly open and honest about the Iraqi WMD, the Democrats would have found another issue to focus on during the 2004 election campaign.  Instead, Rove led the left to believe they were correct in attacking the President’s honesty.  How dishonest can you get!  The only fair thing to do is to give the Democrats a "mulligan" and re-do the 2004 election.

 

We will also need a court order directing the Bush White House to be more honest during the upcoming campaign and not try to hide from the American public the fact that the Democrats haven’t the faintest idea what they are talking about.

My head is going to explode.  What if Bush DIDN’T LIE ABOUT WMDs?  Think this might change the 2006 election?  What if Saddam LIED ABOUT WMDs?  Is that even possible?  Not Saddam.  He is a good guy, it is Bush that is the ruthless tyrant.

docdave: I understand you are hopeful here, but since the lefties are lying to us about their real agenda, which is to turn this country into a marxist "paradise", nothing they say is their goal is really that. When the lie about WMDs is exposed, they will simply shift to something else.  I don’t know how many discussions you have had with lefties, but when you refute one of their arguments, they just go to the next talking point.  They never break down and admit they were wrong, and they won’t do it in this case, either.

Thank goodness these Iraqi files are finally being translated to get to the truth … as if Saddam didn’t have WMD in some capacity. They went to Syria … is that a stretch? Don’t think so. The liberals are gonna get us all killed if they don’t start to realize that Saddam was no good, the terrorists being held in Cuba are no good, and Bin Laden is no good. The liberals wanna give American lawyers to people who blow up innocent women and children. Stop the maddness.

docdave: Just read it.  It sounds credible.  I remember, prewar, that there was talk of arms deals between the French and Saddam, but not a word since then.  I have always known that he had them, and the method of disposal was the only real question.  Thanks for the link.
