Russia Responds To Poland’s Missile Defense Agreement With America: We Might Nuke You

This response to Poland’s missile defense agreement with America (which I posted about earlier) is no joke:

A top Russian general said Friday that Poland’s agreement to accept a U.S. missile interceptor base exposes the ex-communist nation to attack, possibly by nuclear weapons, the Interfax news agency reported.
The statement by Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn is the strongest threat that Russia has issued against the plans to put missile defense elements in former Soviet satellite nations.

If there were any doubts about whether or not the invasion of Georgia marked a renewal of the expansionist Russian empire you can lay them aside now.

Oh, and for the global disarmament crowd. What is the best way to end the existence of Nuclear Ballistic Missiles? Everyone have effective anti-missile systems.

What about nonballistic missles? In real life in just encourages everybody to have more weapons so you can overwhelm the anti-missile systems.

Communists (fellow unionists in arms) are never to blame for protecting themselves against encroaching freedom. Poland will learn their lesson and will one day be enslaved again.

According to Marx, you’re now all rich beyond you’re wildest dreams, ignore you’re grumbling tummy and crying children, they’re capitalist pigs.

Isn’t Russia jumping the gun a little here, like their preferred communist sympathizer (at best) Obama?

Poland is now a full member state of the European Union and as such benefits from the all-for-one policy that the EU maintains.

However, there does seem to be an escalation in recent months of Russian posturing vis-a-vis the US. I heard a Russian minister threatening a nuclear strike against the Ukraine recently. The trouble is, if they keep up with these vociferous threats to nuke people, eventually they’ll have to follow through or risk them being perceived as empty threats.

Buzz spews stupidly: Bush is pushing Russia in a corner, I don’t blame them a bit for threatening to nuke the missile base.

That has to be one of the more stupid things I have ever read on this site and I have seen a lot of moronic stuff written here. In fact just when we think there possibly couldn’t be a bigger moron than you, you go out and out do yourself by posting this piece of drivel.

This is why Eastern Europe needs anti-missile systems.

They said the same thing to Western Europe when Reagan put the Pershing 2 missiles there. Yes, duh, if Poland is in a war zone in a major war, they get nuked. They already knew that, which is why they asked for this system.

Buzz, you crack me up! I thought thought Putin said it was Georgia’s fault because their soldiers moved inside the borders of Georgia. What was I thinking though? Of course, everything is Bush’s fault!

This is the position the left is pushing, no country has the right to defend itself against Russia, because Russia owns all of them.

I agree, Flamer. They are more likely to escalate their destabilization efforts, and begin making claims of proprietary rights beyond their borders.

Sounds like a “top Russian general” is inviting us to park a couple of boomers in the Baltic while the base is constructed and brought online.

So far nobody believes the missiles are
there to defend against Iranian aggression?

    Wasn’t that the plot line?
