Rush: Why Does Obama Want Me To Fail?

A few days ago the left worked itself into a tizzy over Rush Limbaugh saying that he wants Obama to fail. Something that prompted liberal talking heads like Chris Matthews to wonder whether or not Limbaugh hates America.
But now Rush has brilliantly thrown this whole kerfuffle back into the faces of liberals as he responds to Obama saying that Republicans have to stop listening to Rush:

Right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh took aim today at President Barack Obama’s warning to top Republicans that they need to quit listening to the conservative talker if they want to get along.
“Now this is the great unifier,” Limbaugh told listeners just after noon today. “This is the man who’s going to unify everybody and usher in a new era of bi-partisanship and love.”
According to the New York Post, Obama told top Republican leaders on Friday that they need to stop listening to Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration. Obama’s comments came during a White House meeting to discuss his $1 trillion stimulus package, the newspaper reported.
“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” Obama told top GOP leaders, according to the Post.
According to Limbaugh, Obama “basically told them stop listening to me. That’s not how things get done in Washington. We can’t let Rush Limbaugh stall the stimulus plan.”
Limbaugh, heard locally on WRKO-AM (680), said today that Obama’s more frightened of him than Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) and House Minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).
“He’s obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He’s more frightened of me, then he is of say, John Boehner, which doesn’t say much about our party,” Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh today planned to unveil his own bipartisan plan to “resolve the fight over the stimulus package.”
“I think Obama wants me to fail,” Limbaugh said. “President Obama, by telling you and the elected Republicans in Washington to not listen to me because I am not how things get done in Washington, he has said that he wants me to fail.”

Now, I don’t doubt that Obama does want Rush Limbaugh to fail. Just as Limbaugh wants Obama to fail. Both men are advocates for a certain agenda in this country, and those agendas run contrary to one another. Rush is for a limited government agenda, Obama is for a big government agenda.
So of course they want each other to fail, and the outrage over Rush’s original comments is utterly phony.

You have no frame of reference for how people think under these extreme conditions as none of us alive right now has seen economic conditions this dire.

I would suggest that DINO take a history class if I thought he could actually learn something from it.

  • Neiman

I have listened to Rush since he was in Sacramento and today rush was being sarcastic and entertaining, it is one of his pretended half serious, soccer mom routines, that is designed to poke fun at the Left. He also said that it was obvious the Republicans were not listening to him or they wouldn’t have lost control of the White House and Congress!

He is right about one thing, the Republican leadership in Congress does not concern Obama, they are a pathetic bunch of losers. I watched Mitch McConnell on FOX and he was a typical member of the Senate Boys Club, it was like hell this is how we play up here and he could care less about the issues.

That’s what I love about North Dakota people. They see Rush for what he is: fluff and entertainment, like oxycontin candy…

  • djkrell

I once had a patient with a brain tumor. He could see and talk and understand, but the only thing he could say was the word “pencil”. Hold up an orange, he’d call it a pencil. Hold up a pen, he’d call it a pencil. Hold up a pencil and sure enough he’d say pencil. So once in awhile anyone can be right, but to spew the same nonsense over and over no matter what the reality…better get an MRI.

    Barb,

I had thought to answer your (false) criticism of Mr. Limbaugh, but decided instead that the best thing to do with you is IGNORE YOU COMPLETELY.

I guess that’s considered “hope” in the upside down “liberal” world.

  • Dino

Just saw the drug-addled Rush on The Daily Show and he’s starting to look Vulcan. He’s obviously had work done, perhaps to attract wife number, what, 5?

The knee jerk opposition to Obama will only further isolate cons on the fringes of society. As the downturn escalates, the people will turn strongly against them and see them as the obstructionist puveyors of discord who want to see America fail so they can continue filling their greedy pockets.

It will only make it easier to whip up the hatred for conservatives that is already boiling beneath the surface.

Obama’s comment about Rush is a preview of how he will use the bully pulpit AND his popularity to demonize conservatives in a way that will make them the enemies of decent, normal Americans.

    Watch for it.

  • Bat One

    R108,

I’ve always had a great fondness for all sorts of irony… including the paradox of liberal hypocrisy.

    Its good to be back.

  • sayanything-4625

Get ready for more hate directed at conservatives as the Bush/Republican Depression cranks up the misery.

OK, I guess we’ll see about that. I still contend that the Dems have bought the depression now, it has a trillion dollar price tag, if things don’t get better they will pay. Time will tell us who is right, Dino.

  • Bat One

Says (sic) has no apostrophe. Proof would be appalled.

I believe the correct format here would be to put the word “says” in quotation marks. Criticizing others from a position of blatant ignorance is bad form no matter what the subject… economic policy or grammar.

It’s true. People are tired of divisive conservatives whose sole motivation is the attainment of power with the goal of enriching themselves at the expense of others.

Many people are sickened by the coarse culture of greed and harshness of spirit that conservatives have foisted upon us through their perverse, abusive “leadership”.

Proceed at your own peril. The tactics of the 90s will not be well-received this time around. For the most part republican leaders understand this and that’s why they are sounding a more conciliatory note. They see how much they lost and know they skate on thin ice. They realize they got off easy considering the economic devastation they’ve brought to the culture and know how easy it will be to do them major damage if they decide to play hardball and democrats and Obama retaliate.

    Watch for it.

  • pparets

Gosh, Barb. And here I thought he was a “loveable little fuzz-ball….”

So… Jimmy Carter actually WAS responsible for the increased unemployment and rising interest rates during the early Reagan years?

Drivel! You are trying to have it both ways, Dino, and all you’re managing to do is embarrass yourself while insulting the intelligence of your opponents. No wonder no one takes what you say seriously.

  • sayanything-4625

Look at all of that hate directed towards Rush and conservatives.

That is because they know he is effective. No one on the right or left cares what Randi Rhodes says because she is a hack and a clown. They are apathetic to her. Rush is effective so he must be destroyed.

  • sayanything-4625

    Dino,

What world do you live in?

  • 2Hotel9

Greg, Barri’s primary aim in this is to distract from His” Stimulus Plan!!, of which He is Absolutely Determined to pass before American’s see any of the details. Talk radio is a secondary target, which He has already turned ACORN and ACLU against. A wave of license challenges are already being lodged with the FCC. Amazing, what an email list and willing accomplices can do.

There is no doubt many people will be happy to jump on board the hate train. Limbaugh is going to confirm every fear you have, and reap the profits in doing so.

Is that you jumping on the hate train or us jumping on the hate train? Or are we jumping on different hate trains at the same time? I get so confused. it must be my sub par education from a Southern Hellhole University (TM Dino.

    Hannitized said…

Like you? Look at your avatar! Talk about hate.

You and the whole left crowd had NO PROBLEM fomenting and defending the HATRED directed at President Bush and Governor Palin.

So spare us your sanctimoneous hypocracy.

  • sayanything-4625

You only catch flak when you are over the target. Remember the opposite of love is not hate it is apathy. If Obama wasn’t worried about Rush then he wouldn’t care what he said about him or his plans.

Because you are a proud American, and independent thinking individual, Mr Limbow?

  • Bat One

    ellinas,

Ass I recall, we have had this discussion before. If you are going to accuse me of that which I’ve accused Dino, you should begin by noting exactly where I am ignorant. Neither my knowledge of proper English usage nor my knowledge of economics and finance are yet at issue, are they?

  • 2Hotel9

You have e crying like a little beeatch again, B1. Way to go, now she will start screeching about how everyone is mean to her and say nasty things to her. All conversation will halt while she wails&moans; about how she is treated so badly.

And dinothefakehomo is correct! People do know exactly who created all our problems. They are the morons in Congress and the new Admin who are diligently making things worse as fast as the can.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

There is no doubt many people will be happy to jump on board the hate train. Limbaugh is going to confirm every fear you have, and reap the profits in doing so.

What I like about Rush is when he actually defends Obama from hateful criticism from certain elements on the left, and then gets called a racist for doing it.

Like with the “Barack the Magic Negro” parody. Rush (and the satirist responsible for the song) were making fun of certainly liberals questioning Obama’s black authenticity. Their ultimate point was that Obama’s skin color, and whether or not he’s an “authentic black,” doesn’t matter.

But liberals like Hannitized, being shallow-minded simps, just heard “Negro” and let their hatred for anyone with ideas different from their own take over.

  • sayanything-2483
