Rush Limbaugh Mentions Say Anything

Here’s the audio:

This is the third time Rush has mentioned something written on the blog.

Very flattering.  You can’t do much better than a mention by one of the most recognizable leaders of the conservative movement.

Does this tick you off? Click here to email your elected representatives right here on Say Anything, or comment below.

Well done Rob, et al. The more people mention it, like the Great One, the better for all of us!

Here’s the referenced SAB article: Should Congress Continue To Fund National Public Radio.

It’s good to see our host get a Limnbaugh mention (since the mentions up to now have been of under appreciated reader’s bloggers here)!

Heh.

We appreciate the reader blogs.  So much so that they get prominent, front-page display.

I’ve gone through a lot pains to make sure the reader blogs get noticed.

You are right, the very idea of Readers Blogs is terrific, giving as many people as possible a right to post stories that interest them, not just the host. It is great you include them on the Front Page, encourage people to blog here and even move some of their stories to the Front Page, Main Scetion for added interest. I suspect Gravescknows that and was making this comment for some other reason that is not apparent!

I think Readers Blogs makes SAB unique and damn Democratic, it adds interest and it demonstrates the host is not caught up in the sound of his own voice (A bit of humility comes to mind). You are to be sincerely complimented for this feature and the way you deal with all of us! Even though you said a long time ago you don’t read my comments or my blogs, I for one am very appreciative of their existence and your making them a key feature of your blog!

Hey now, don’t inflate my ego!

I do read your posts, Neiman, and I read your blogs.  I avoid engaging you at times because it often feels as though its sort of a waste of time.

But then, these days its hard for me to engage much of anyone on here given all the reader blogs and comments.  If I responded to every comment directed at me here, and every email I get, I wouldn’t have time to actually write the posts.

I may be helping in this case. I have sent Rush links to the show several times, not this one, of course, but I think he does read this site occasionly. I know he reads HotAir, Iowahawk, LGF, etc from time to time.

di butler on November 28, 2008 at 02:48 pm

Actually, this blog gets mentioned a good bit among some of the talk show hosts. Boortz has linked us numerous times and actually read one of my pieces on the air (the one Walton and Johnson, the radio hosts, plagiarized, the jerks).

Rush is the biggie, though. Congrats, Rob. Keep it up!

Dear AKAJOEL; How was I whining? I was complimenting Rob using a personal example of his tolerance here at SAB! I could have said, I can’t believe you are so nice in letting that jerk AKAJOEL to comment and post here, but instead I used self deprecation to pass on kudos to ROB about the Reader Blogs and how he respects other opinions!

Or, is that your personal hatred for me creeping out again, you know your personal insecurities in the presence of someone not willing to bow to your megalomania?

Interesting how the “drug-addled ranter”, is still the #1 talk show host in the nation.

I wonder what the top rated liberal talk show ranks in comparison to the conservative hosts.

I’ll bet it’s about 150th on the list.

Actually I just checked, and Alan Colmes came in 16th to be the first liberal on the list.

Interesting.

Dino,

I think that was a totally classless statement! I have been in the position where after I was nearly beaten to death where I got addicted to pain meds, it wasn’t fun, or funny. I love how people who have never had bad things happen to them are able to be so judgemental. I actually have met Rush, at a conference for people with cochlear implants. My father was one of the very first people to have this surgery. Did you know the reason Rush lost his hearing is most likely caused by the prescripton drugs? I know, the same happened to me. I was lucky enough that I was able to have a different surgery that just replaced some damaged parts in my ears. I only regained about 70-80% of my hearing. I would say this is quite a punishment for having a dependence on prescription medication. Rush spent about 45 minutes with my Dad, he could not have been nicer. He thanked him for being one of the original “guinea pigs” for this surgery, my Dad had to have it 4 times, it is very dangerous and painful. I haven’t given you any shit about being gay, couldn’t give a shit less, but you have no trouble attacking people you don’t even know. Rush sends a personal card to my Dad every year at Christmas and his birthday, he has even sent some small gifts, he surely doesn’t have to, what does he get out of some old man thinking he’s a nice guy? Nothing. So maybe you should look in the mirror and remember if you want to be treated well, perhaps you should try to treat others well.

Not fair. I did not know of your personal cricumstances. Sorry to offend or bring back painful memories.

Rush, however, receives no mercy from me. His problem was recreational drug use of up to 30,000 pillss procured illegally. He shows no compassion for anyone and if it were Al Franken or some other liberal entertainer with a drug addiction problem, they would receive no excuses from conservatives.

Rush started using prescription drugs for severe back pain. As for how he obtained them, I have never seen definate proof that he was taking as many pills as you say, I doubt it, he would have o.d.‘ed. As for him getting them illegally, maybe, I don’t think you can really say, if you have never been addicted to them. It is unreal the urge to take them, that’s why so many people addicted to all kinds of drugs, illegal or legal have such a hard time getting off of them. I don’t see where you castigate the vast majority of people in Hollywood addicted to drugs, they never get anything but a slap on the wrist, if that, and they are still wildly popular. He apologized for his actions, has said he felt terrible about the things he did, and I happen to believe him. Humans do make mistakes. Do some people get by with more things than others? Yes. But you can’t just put him out there as someone who got by with his problem w/o listing thousands more. We are all evil, to one extent or another. Life isn’t fair, Dino, we just do the best we can, and move on.

Rugby,

Please go away. You read what I wrote and still brought up the drug problem. At least Dino had the balls to apologize. And yes, Dino, I can be very compassionate. I have been through a pretty hard life, I don’t say that for people to feel sorry for me, I have a good life now, but so that people will understand there are different views of things. I have friends and acquaintances that are gay. I respect them because they respect me. They don’t shove it in my face, or anyone else’s. They are appalled by the things going on with prop. 8. Even if they disagreed, that would be o.k., too, because they don’t believe in force for getting your way. They prefer to be happy in their lives the way the law is written now. I think if you open your mind there are lots of nice people in this world that you might not be attuned to in many views, but if you don’t try to be militant they may be open to listen to you.

Don’t use my simple apology for your health problem as an opening to promoting your Prop 8 views.

You gay “friends” who think we should all cower when our rights are taken away are in the south, a place known for making minorities sit in the back of the bus. That’s how they are socialized. But they are wrong.

Out here on the west coast we will fight for eqality and those southern losers will eventually enjoy it. We’ll continue to boycott businesses and destroy those who oppose us and who contributed to taking away our rights.

Meanwhile, I want you to go tell all your anti-abortion friends to stop opposing abortion, to stop protesting abortion clinics because it was declared legal and they LOST. But wait, they were able to reverse abortion rights. See, that’s what we’ll do with gay marriage.

And while you’re at it, call all your anti-Obama republican friends and tell them to stop opposing Obama. Particularly all the southerners who are planning assasinations and attacks on Obama. (Secret Service working overtime to stop all you right wing nutjobs from violence.) They LOST and should sit on their hands and accept theier fate.

See how stupid you sound when you ask gays to just roll over and play dead for you? See what useless weaklings your gay “friends” are?

So “be happy” with the way things are and stop resisting already. Just like those obedient gay friends of yours.

Your reading comprehension sucks. I was actually trying to show you some of that compassion you accredited to me. I was not trying to push any view about prop. 8 on you, I just said I had gay friends who had a different viewpoint, and that they were very classy about it. I have no idea where you got the impression by me saying that I had gay friends that these people were Southerners.  As a matter of fact, they’re not. I have posted tons of personal info on this site, some directed to you. I have friends all over the world. I told you myself that I traveled a lot. So you were working strictly on assumption. I was trying to make an attempt to relate to you that some people, including me, find calm ration actions more impressive than militant type tactics. I don’t see where you think that was an attempt to sway your opinions. I’m sure I couldn’t even if I wanted. I am sorry that my attempt to draw you out and talk to you decently can’t be reciprocated.
