Ron Paul’s Talk On Strait Of Hormuz Incident Indicates Why He Shouldn’t Be President

He manages to get in a reference to the Gulf of Tonkin (a conspiracy favorite of his) and hatch a new conspiracy theory all in the same mini-speech:

Paul dismisses the threat posed by those Iranian “speed boats,” but it’s worth noting that the devastating attack on the USS Cole was carried out by a speed boat.  Personally, I’d like to see us elect a leader who isn’t quite so cavalier about the safety of our troops.  I’d also like one a little less reactionary, who understands the difference between a strong response to an act of aggression from another country and “starting world war three.”

“starting world war three.”

Paul ranted about that. When Brit Hume pointed out that all the other debaters had endorsed the inaction taken by the commanders on the scene, Paul admitted he “hadn’t heard them”!
Who is more likely to start WWIII? Some people who endorse restraint? Or a crazy, deaf old coot who makes his argument based on what he misheard or didn’t hear?

And surprise, surprise! Ron Paul is “winning” the electronic vote!
So, he comes across as a doddering old fool, can’t hear the questions or his fellow debaters, loses unanimously the in person vote and yet, his Basement Brigade comes through to fake the electronic poll results. What a joke!

...difference between a strong response to an act of aggression from another country and “starting world war three.”

Would be nice if more voters understood this difference too. Though you have to figure the MSM into this equation. “US Starts WW III” will sell a ton more papers than “US Mounts Defensive Measures Against Attacking Ships”.

Nutjob.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Johnson and the NSA admitted that the 2nd Gulf of Tonkin incident that was used as justification for escalating the Viet Nam War never happened. It’s not a conspiracy theory.

What is overwhelming Ron at this point is that he knows that Bush is doing everything he can to get us involved in another war with Iran before he leaves office. That is what he hears when people start talking about this latest incident or lack thereof.

Ron Paul is right about how we have lost our fourth amendment rights.
The city of Fargo is a prime offender!

LBJ also gave us the epitome of wasteful govt spending: The so-called “War on Poverty”.  So what?
A lying Dem has nothing to do with this situation.

Luap Nor keeps screeching about bringing home our troops to provide security on our streets. Well, perhaps Mr Constitution should, I don’t know, maybe, READ the Constitution. It is rather clear about the use of military forces within the borders of our country. Or perhaps he will simply not “hear” that part as he deploys soldiers to enforce his policies against American citizens.

He had his head handed to him last night, and yet Fox declares him the winner. Now why do you think they are doing that?

I think his reference to the Strait of Hormuz incident is a back door attempt to reassure the troofers that he’s still their man! After all, the strait of Hormuz incident was faked by the government, and we know we can’t trust the government NOT to fake things like this and 9/11, etc.

I think it is simply hilarious that people in the Middle East clearly see this as Iran provoking confrontation. And morons of all political flavors in America and Europe blindly toddle along on their tinfoil hat conspiracrap. What a bunch of idiots.

If Ron Paul or anyone else thinks those speedboats didn’t pose a serious threat they’re just kidding themselves and displaying their ignorance.  As close in as those speedboats were they’re every bit as dangerous to those ships as infantry is to a tank in a wooded or urban area.

Check out this link at the NYT to see what went down at the “Millennium Challenge 2002” war game when Red Team (bad guys) used small fast boats against Blue Team (USN).
