Ron Paul Gets The All Important Hooker Endorsement

Who knew they were such a powerful voting bloc?:

RENO, Nevada — Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, an underdog Texas congressman with a libertarian streak, has picked up an endorsement from a Nevada brothel owner.

Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite BunnyRanch near Carson City, says he was so impressed after hearing Paul at a campaign stop in Reno last week that he decided to raise money for him.

Hof and two of his prostitutes, Brooke Taylor and a woman who goes by Air Force Amy, attended a Paul news conference.

The women say they liked Paul’s message, but wanted to learn more about other candidates before making a decision.

Paul spokesman Jeff Greenspan say while Paul does not personally condone prostitution, the candidate does not think it’s the role of the federal government to regulate such activity.

Greenspan says Paul is a diehard supporter of states rights who recognizes that Nevada voters and lawmakers have decided prostitution should be legal in the state.

Paul also is a devout Christian who opposes abortion.

Whew. Glad they got that cleared up.

One note aside from the snark: I find myself in the rather uncomfortable position of agreeing with his view on the federal government’s involvement on the regulating of the, er, profession. It should be a state’s right to make that determination, not the fed’s.

UPDATE:

It has been brought to my attention by Rodney Graves in the comments below that I have in fact erred and have misplaced credit in the title of this article. It is in fact not the Hooker Endorsement, it is the Pimp Endorsement. My apologies to the Pimp voting block. I regret the error.

Thank you, Rodney.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled commentary.

Here you go with another hit piece on Ron Paul. Of course the idiot poof has to chime in right away with his complete idiotic nonsense.  Good for the prostitute if she supports Ron Paul, she is an American citizen. It is so great to see people from all walks of life contributing to the Ron Paul campaign, is there any other candidate with so much support from people?  It is a free country, you can support whoever you want, unless that has changed under the Bush and Clinto years.

Guest on November 26, 2007 at 09:17 am

Actually, of all the hundreds of pieces I’ve written that’s the first one I’ve ever done about Ron Paul.

I sort of felt like it was piling on with the rest of the kids while they made fun of the goofy kid in class. So I didn’t - until now.

He’s just such a target rich environment that I couldn’t resist anymore.

Yes, that is what it is about; targeting the Ron Paul supporters and getting them to the site, trying to increase your blogs standing, we all know that.  I was referring not to you personally but to the main page of sayanythingblog so do not take it to be an attack on you personally.

She still is an American citizen and has every right to support whoever she wants.  She should do her job as an American and choose a candidate to support even if it seemingly is bad for the candidate.

You err.  That’s not the Prostitute endorsement, it’s the Pimp endorsement.  No worthier candidate could have gained it.

An endorsment like this one may not be good for a candidate running for office, but it may spark intrigue and help put Paul on the map on a wider scale. Besides, Dennis Hof is a smart business man and I am sure he has plenty of supporters and money to contribute.

Guest,

Your passionate devotion to Paul’s candidacy notwithstanding, your complaint is gratuitous nonsense, and if you are going to initiate these sorts of discussions with the adults here, you’ll need to offer something more rational and intellectually mature and defensible than this hackneyed drivel.  The fact is there is nothing so blatantly American as our uniquely ugly method of choosing our candidates for president.

Our is, unofficially, a two party system, and thus each presidential election comes down to a choice between “the lesser of two evils.” Similarly, our nominating process, complete with assorted primaries and caucuses, is the means by which each party determines which candidate represents the viewpoints of as many of its members as possible, and will garner the most support nationally.  Inherent in this system of compromise and accommodation is the unspoken realization that those on the political fringes, in any direction, are unlikely to have much of a vested interest in the party’s final selection.

Of course you are free (in most jurisdictions, anyway) to write in the name of Donald Duck, Donald Trump, “None of the Above”, or even Ron Paul.

The fact that one the adults here, me, felt compelled to offer you this brief primer in American civics ought to warn you that your tedious indignation on behalf of Congressman Paul is wearing a bit thin.  The man has demonstrated no leadership abilities or experience, has no substantive accomplishment to point to despite his 25 plus years in congress, and the policy prescriptions in the areas of foreign affairs and national defense and our domestic economic growth would be far more disastrous to our country than the current problems he presumes to address.

Actually, of course, the correct phrase is “I could NOT give a shit less...” thus indicating that you have reached a point of total, abject apathy.  What you said, by comparison, is that there is still room for even less concern and even more apathy than what you’re currently describing.  What you’ve said, not surprisingly, is the exact opposite of what you intended.

Your argumentation and debate techniques are every bit as laughably ineffectual as Ron Paul’s economic and fiscal prescriptions would be.  A perfect storm of uninformed ineptitude.

Ok, I will give you the free speech, but it is still acting as children and unpatriotic to go after someone for doing his duty that everyone should do, to choose a candidate and vote.  Besides the fact that it is a total blatant smear piece on Ron Paul, I would say the same thing for any other candidate.

I will however disagree with the top running Republican candidate (Rudy) for saying freedom is authority, that is just plain nuts.

Oh, Dear… where to start!?

First, if you’ll check my comment at the other tedious Ron Paul thread, you’ll note that the correct grammatical structure is to say, “I could NOT care less...” Not surprisingly, you seem to have stated the exact opposite of what you intended.

Second, there is a certain tiresome and predictable irony in you calling others names, while protesting, wrongly, that they have done so to you.  Its an old rhetorical trick, one usually intended to divert attention from the fact that you have nothing substantive to offer us here.

I’d be glad to engage you in some sort of meaningful debate about issues, rather than personalities (yours or Paul’s), but quite frankly I don’t see that you (or Ron Paul) have anything substantive to offer.  A candidacy better suited to the world as it existed 200 years ago is no more interesting, or challenging, that correcting the grammar of the linguistically dysfunctional, self-deluded adolescents who support it.

ladies and Gentlemen,

I suggest it is time to invoke cloture where the candidacy of Rep. Ron Paul is concerned.  Despite all the blather of the past few days (happens every time, doesn’t it?) there is nothing of substance in Mr. Paul’s record to take note of or discuss.

There is also general agreement that the policies he advocates, both foreign and domestic, would be far better suited for the second decade of the 19th century, rather than the 21st.  Today’s commerce and threats to our peace and prosperity are managed electronically, not via wood-masted sailing ships and letters of marque.

Finally, there is the unmistakable fact that Ron Paul would surely be a one-term president, the far right kook edition of Jimmy Carter.  That vision alone should be enough to stifle any further “discussion” however amusing the exercise might again become.

If casting a vote for the candidate that has shown the best leadership it would hands down be Rudy Giuliani. If casting a vote for the most liked Republican candidate excluding Ron Paul for sake of debate, hands down it would be Fred Thompson.

In my opinion as a Ron Paul supporter, those two will be left in the end. But neither will I vote for.

In my opinion Hillary and Edwards will be left in the end, I wonder if AIPAC and the the Council on Foreign Relations you know the conspiracy theories have anything to do with it?

First of all, I don’t think hookers have a “duty” to choose a candidate. ("Duty" must be yet another word you are unfamiliar with!)

Besides, so far your tantrum has been treated with some humor. You haven’t been “hit”. As many others before you can attest the folks here are quite capable of “hitting” you much harder than they have.

They’ve been relatively nice, unlike yourself.

Burned those Streisand movies in mommy’s basement yet?

Just asking.

You still think this is a legit post, shows what you know about how things work.  We need to organize against this crap you are pumping out; I may not be the best at this so let’s find someone who could be better.

How could you ever vote for Rudy Giuliani after seeing this video of the firefighters saying he is a looser challenge?

Nobodies compelling you to post here.  You don’t like it, there’s the door.  Be careful it doesn’t hit you in your ass (you know where you keep what little brains you have) on your way out.

You and what army.  You f**king lefties can’t stand opposing thought so your only answer is to try to squelch it.

I may not be the best at this so let’s find someone who could be better.

Really, are you good at anything?  You definitely aren’t a blogger.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.
