Ron Paul Excluded From Fox News Debate

It would appear as though Fox News (or perhaps the New Hampshire Republican Party which is sponsoring the event) has excluded Ron Paul from the next GOP debate to be held on January 6th.

Although I opposed Ron Paul’s exclusion from debates early on in the primaries, and while Paul’s rather nutty supporters on the internet are already in the throes of condemning this “fascist” affront to free speech, I think it’s a good move.

When the primary season is fresh and new I think it’s imperative that all candidates who meet certain minimal standards (such as having filed the appropriate campaign forms with the FEC and actually having a campaign staff) be allowed to participate in the debates so that the American people can get to know all of the candidates.  Or at least have the opportunity to do so.  But at this stage of the game, given that Paul has been at the bottom of every single poll for months now and has absolutely no chance of winning the GOP nomination, it’s time to focus on the serious candidates.

And Ron Paul, despite the strident assertions to the contrary from his most ardent backers, was never a serious candidate.

If it’s a matter of NH poll numbers, then Fred Thompson and Mike Huckabee should be excluded as well.  Paul is leading them in some NH polls.

Some IA polls have Paul ahead of Giuliani and McCain.  How about excluding Giuliani and McCain?

A Republican debate (or any other for that matter) needs Ron Paul like a deer hunter needs an accordion!

Fox is owned by The News Corporation which has as its primary stock holder Rupert Murdoch. The media holdings of the News Corporation have caused it to be investigated as a monopoly. Rupert is an Australian who became an American citizen in 1985 only after the FCC claimed that Rupert’s ownership of American media companies violated the law against foreign ownership of American media. By 1999 the News Corp had made 2.1 billion but paid no U.S. corporate income tax.

Their headquarters are in Rockefeller Center.

Funny, Bill! I went to RealClear Politics and here’s what I found:

A private corporate interest commissioned a phone bank survey of 15,000 Iowans who say they will attend Republican presidential caucuses Jan. 3. It showed Romney with 30 percent and Huckabee at 26 percent.

He also has some really nutty interpretations of Scripture

Please show the nutty ones to me here.

Neiman believes that the anti-Christs “JEWS” are God’s chosen people, that Israel is the land of milk and honey the one that always gives and never borrows.

Neiman believes that the 12 Tribes of Israel is all “JEWS” and that only one state named Israel will come out of them despite what the bible says.

Neiman believes Abraham was a “JEW” even though he was the father of Issac who was the father of Jacob(Israel) whose son was Judah who became to be incorrectly known today as a Jew.

Neiman believes that Mary was a “JEW” even though the bible never states this, but does mention Mary being a cousin to Elisabeth who was a Levi.

Neiman believes that Jesus was “JEW” even though the bible states that He was before the foundation of the world, and some might even come to the conclusion that He has visited certain ones like Jacob,Joshua, etc and was Melchizedek the King of Peace.

There are so many things, but don’t believe me or Neiman. Pick up the bible and read it yourself. Maybe you will see that Neiman may be in error. Pick up the Bible and Read it.

Please Neiman if I had made a mistake correct me, I will not call your interpretation of your biblical posts nutty instead I would call them misinformed.

Ron Paul has not lost most of the debates, in fact - he was won almost all of them. He is the only candidate that isn’t sponsored by corporations and special interests. There is so much at stake this time around it’s almost unbelievable. And even more unbelievable that they are excluding whom I believe is the only person running that has any chance of restoring our democracy. We are moving towards a fascist state - have no doubt about it. This is like a mid-way point - censoring people that can actually help that process.

Conveniently, those here opposed to his ideas simply think it’s a great idea that he is excluded. What’s the point of “debating” when their isn’t an opposing viewpoint?

If his ideas so “loony” and “crackpot” then what’s the worry? It should only make the rest of the candidates look better, right? Right?

Ron Paul is at 10% in Iowa (ahead of Guiliani) and last I checked, 9.5% in Iowa. Even in the flawed polls he is doing better than Fred Thompson in either place.

But of course, this is “the right thing to do” simply because YOU don’t like his ideas. You can bet your bottom dollar that I would be just as upset if Guiliani were simply excluded, even though I put him right next to Hillary on my list of candidates that would make me consider leaving the country if they were to win.

People only do things like this when they are losing. smile

NH knows Ron Paul quite well now thanks to his supporters. I really don’t think they need Fox News help. It is THEY that look ridiculous doing this.

How gracious of them to also exclude Hunter to make it look supposedly fair, even though Hunter has been placing what, 1% since the very beginning and isn’t “loony” - and yes, Hunter should be there as well. His campaign is not done until he drops out. Not before. Maybe he just couldn’t afford it (oh, you didn’t realize that the candidates have to pay to participate?)

RON PAUL 2008

WETBACK on December 30, 2007 at 12:12 am

Jesus, I think I’m going to have to write an article about Paul and the gaggle of fools who follow him. With Todd, Wetback and Scott, it’s needed.

In short, Ron Paul’s negative points:

1. Votes against smaller government. It’s all well and good to vote against expanding government, but that’s not enough. Many conservatives like Hunter and Tancredo routinely do that alongside Paul. When the chipd are on the table to reduce the size of government, whether it be for vouchers, welfare reform, SS partial privitization or whatnot, Paul is consistant on voting no.

2. Despite claiming to be pro-life, is one of the few Republicans who voted against all three incarnations of Lacey’s Law. Later tried to establish a Human Rights Law (not amendment) that would’ve been ruled unconstitutional on the basis that it would establish a precident for Congress to usurp power from the Supreme Court. Which comes to....

3. Will not work in the world as it is. When the PBA ban came about, Paul railed against Republicans for drawing a line between abortion and PBA. This criticism was insanely stupid in that abortion is legal and PBA wasn’t yet. In terming PBA infanticide, instead of abortion, Republicans were trying to establish new law to ban the procedure. Instead, Paul lambasted them for dealing with reality, that abortion was legal, and that that wasn’t going to change with the court they had at the time. Doing the same with welfare, Paul called the entire discussion on welfare reform unconstitutional, and therefore voted no. In keeping with “principal”, he refused to reduce the size of an unconstitutional program.

4. In keeping with the above, Paul’s definition of what’s constitutional or not is “whatever he decides”. He derided Lacey’s Law as unfederalistic and unconstitutional. “Abortion should be decided by states.” But then he seeks to pass teh Human Rights Law which sets life as beginning at conception. The two positions aren’t compatable. On war, he’s equally as nonsensical. He voted for an authorization to use force on Afghanistan. But now Iraq is illegal because it was started on an authorization to use force.

5. He doesn’t get Islamic monsters. If America is the cause of all the trouble in the world...why are Muslims attacking in the Phillipines? Why are they bombing India and Russia. Why kill Bhutto, who was less friendly and less accountable to the US than Musharaff? Why do we see Muslim massacres in the Sudan and across Africa, where America has little to no interests? Why riots over Danish cartoons or teddy bears named Mohammad?
Any honest person would look at all this and conclude the Islamic savages are just that...savages. They are angry monsters who kill over an insult. If we have done something that angers them, we are no more to blame than a small child who catches the attention of a rabid dog. What the child did doesn’t equate in...the dog is rabid and must be put down.

6 And finally, Paul appeals to racist pricks like Wetback, and conspiracy theorists because he is willing to pander to them. Paul is the only candidate in the field willing to go to Nazi conventions and take their money. Promising he’ll represent their interests. Either this means Paul is far from a harmless old kook...that he’ll do things Nazis and communist anti-Americans want, or it means he’s willing to pander to a level that even Hillary Clinton, Guilliani, and Huckabee aren’t comfortable with. Which means he’s not a man to be trusted.

While his supporters claim he has good ideas, they are clearly outweighed by bad qualties and ideas. And many of his good ideas simply aren’t realistic. Abolish the IRS without getting rid of the 16th Amendment? Won’t happen. Abolish the department of Education? That may take decades. And it will take hundreds, if not thousands, of small steps. All of which Paul has made clear he will vote against. Pull out all troops from Asia, which are part of teh reason we have a peace (Albeit uncomfortable) over there?Stop using foreign oil? Not possible.

Paul is a ball of fabrications, propped up by self agrandizement, and hidden behind a thick wall of bullshit. Any prodding of his record, and we find he’s a house of cards. Nothnig really there. But now we have a mess to clean up.

To all the Ron Paul supporters upset about not being invited to future debates. It is time for a reality check. It doesn’t matter how much money Dr. Paul has raised. Or how many text messages he can get his supporters to send in after the debates. All polls, yes ALL polls show he can’t even break 10%. It’s not because his views or message hasn’t gotten out. It’s because 95% of Republican voters don’t agree with him or his views. For the large number of Republicans that haven’t decided there is no reason to waste more time listening to Dr. Paul’s ratings. Dr. Paul’s supporters that claim to be Republicans need to make a choice. Find a viable candidate or vote for a democrat. It’s time to stop acting like spoiled children. Deal with reality and move on.

Ron Paul is not in the Council on Foreign Relations. All the others are. They, the CFR, want to dissolve the United States. The Constitution will become a museum piece if it hasn’t already. So all you fools that want the corporations to control your lives, go ahead and don’t vote for Ron Paul. If you’ve ever studied history you know all fascists thought corporatism was the ultimate form of fascism. But americans have been so dumbed down they don’t know they have become big fat cattle waiting for the slaughter. Do you expect a corporate controlled media to let the ideas of the founders of the Constitution to be expressed? No way. So, vote for those who take their orders from those you didn’t vote for.

So, vote for those who take their orders from those you didn’t vote for.

As opposed to voting for those who take their orders from the little voices inside their head! smile

A troll is someone who only wants to stir up trouble, not have an honest debate.  Some signs that a poster is a troll:
* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources
* When one of its arguments is shown to be false, either ignores the proof or moves the goalposts.  Heh. (From the LGF faq)

I came here to read up on the “Fox blocking Ron Paul” news articles and I come across this little diatribe.  As an outside, it seems to me that the Ron Paul supporters are voicing a rational argument - if the McCain supporters think that Ron Paul’s ideas are loony and idiotic, why are they so scared to let him talk?  Based on my history lessons, Americans take their freedom of speech quite seriously and to censor someone simply because his ideas do not match your own sounds to be like there is a lot of insecurity.

Here we are 5 months later and Ron Paul still has about 20% support from the Republicans but it is being kept quiet.  Interesting to see what happened down in Hawaii recently.

You Americans seem to put a lot of stock into if you are Left or Right, white or black, for the war or against it.  As someone who takes a bit from the left and a bit from the right to form my political views, it looks like your country is heading towards another civil war.

Also, someone said that why would “terrorists” attack other countries and that the US has no interests in Africa, I think they should go back to school and complete grade 5.  Last I looked, the US has about 700-800 military bases OUTSIDE of the US and has US troops in approximately 130 countries.  Now, please don’t tell me that the US has no interests anywhere in Africa, India or other parts of Asia.

All throughout history, military troops have caused harm to the countries they occupy - there is no shortage of evidence about this.  Though we would like to think that the US is held to a different standard, we are seeing that they are human based on the videos, pictures and abuse we are seeing in Iraq.

Let me ask you a question - if a foreign military came into your country, unwanted and without permission, and accidentally killed your wife, children, parents and friends in a raid.  How would you feel?  If you were presented with a way to take revenge upon that country, would you take it?  I think a lot of today’s “terrorists” are people who have been affected by the fact that the US has stuck their nose into too many places and have hurt families, businesses, economies and countries for years to come.  I know this view is not what regular US citizens want to hear but if you took the time to read UK, Australian, Egyptian, European and Asian newspapers (once in a while), you start to get a feel for how the world really works. (You have to sift through the spin though as everyone puts their own spin on things).

Don’t get me wrong, I like the US quite a bit but I think you are on the precipice right now - no civilization has ever stood the test of time and all the signs are pointing to the decline of US dominance (over-extended military, decline of morals, crushing dbts and the rise of China).  Your primaries have definitely been interesting to watch and the ramifications for the election will be felt for years to come.  Best wishes!
