Romney Has A Strong Lead In The Delegate Count So Far

There’s a lot of spin going on about the primary wins as the various candidates jockey for position, so it’s worth looking at the actual delegate count which tends to show the real picture
Here’s where we’re at as of tonight:

Romney with a strong lead (he’s won in Michigan, Wyoming and Nevada) with McCain in second (New Hampshire and South Carolina) and Huckabee trailing a distant third (just a fluke win in Iowa).
Of course, it’s terribly early. The “magic number” for delegates is around 1,200, and a lot can change on Super Tuesday.

    Rob,

If Fred drops out of the race and you had to vote for someone, could you vote for Romney?

A recent survey showed that amongst Fred supporters, their second choice by 3:1 is for Romney. Just as my second choice was always Fred (he would have been my first choice if he had more executive experience).

So, if it’s a choice between McCain and Romney, could you pull the lever for Romney?

Hey! Duncan Hunter had one delegate from Wyoming – I know Duncan dropped out, tonight, but doesn’t he get to call who that delegate goes to?

Maybe that looks really puny, or picayunish, but Duncan Hunter stood for what most of us all said we were looking for – BUT LABELED “UNELECTABLE”.

    Sad for America.

    Rob,

Fair enough, but he didn’t govern MA as a RINO, he governed as a Conservative. He only CAMPAIGNED as a RINO. That’s the difference.

P.S., The whole “$50 abortion thing” in MA was COURT ORDERED and Romney could do NOTHING TO STOP IT. By saying “Romney supported tax-payer funded abortions in MA” the ‘straight-talkin’ McCain Team is clearly lying and distorting the facts.

Florida has 114 “winner-take-all” delegates. It all comes down to Florida.

P.S., Considering Romnets HUGE lead in delegates, it is funny how FoxNews last night referred to McCain as the CLEAR FRONTRUNNER and Romney as BARELY HANGING ON and only still in the race because of his money.

One other thing, FoxNews always gets the delegate counts way off. They have Romney at something like 56 or 59.

After you run out of ideas and you have no firm governing principle, you always have spin!

I love the smell of desperation in the morning!

    Doh, fixing. Sorry.

    Man I’m error prone.

I honestly don’t know yet, Bill. Romney talks a good game now, but I have a feeling that once he’s in the general election and/or once he reaches the White House he’s going to revert to the same Massachusetts RINO he’s always been.

So you’re telling me that Romney will say whatever it takes to get elected.

That’s not exactly a ringing endorsement.

As for Romney and abortion, there’s this.
