Roger Clemens Had A Relationship With Mindy McCreedy When She Was 15?

Ugh…

NEW YORK - Roger Clemens had a decade-long relationship with country star Mindy McCready that began when she was a 15-year-old aspiring singer and the pitcher was a Boston Red Sox ace, the Daily News reported. Clemens’ lawyer, Rusty Hardin, confirmed a long-term relationship but told the newspaper it was not sexual. . . .

McCready’s lawyer, Lee Ofman, said he did not have any comment on the Daily News story.

Clemens was 28 and a married father of two when he first met McCready, the newspaper reported.

The story could undermine Clemens’ reputation, which is central to the defamation suit the former pitcher has filed against former personal trainer Brian McNamee. McNamee contends Clemens used performance-enhancing substances during his major league career.

“If true, it’s just another example of Roger’s pervasive prevarications which will be at the core of any defamation case,” said McNamee’s attorney, Richard Emery, in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

Discussion question: They kept Pete Rose out of the hall of fame for gambling.  Will Clemens be kept out for juicing and allegedly boffing 15-year-olds?

Sounds like your typical countrty song.
Roger was just trying to emulate Tug McGraw.

They may as well close Cooperstown,
if they are going to hold players to that standard.

Will Clemens be kept out for juicing and allegedly boffing 15-year-olds?

Not necessarily in that order.

Or they could merge Cooperstown and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Clemens is the last 300 game winner to win a game against another 300 game winner.  He and Greg Maddux split wins two seasons ago.  And unless Glavine and Maddux face each other this season, it is unlikely to ever happen again.

Roger Clemens place in Cooperstown is secure.

Wow.  A reporter with a sense of humor.

ellinas,

Y’all who???  Even a most cursory glance would tell you that none of those commenting here expressed any sort of “outrage” over on the Miley Cyrus thread.

Should be:

Will Clemens be kept out for allegedly juicing and for having a moronic and illiterate blogger lie about his having sex with an underage girl?

I think the answer is no.

Lie?  I said “allegedly,” and I’m not the one who is reporting this.  Take your beef up with the New York Daily News.

The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.

Damn, Woof....that’s good! You can get excluded from the Baseball Hall of Fame for very little (just ask Pete Rose) but you’d basically have to destroy the moon or cause a continent to sink to get disqualified from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

Unless, of course, like RebTex says:

He’d better stay away from religious compounds in Texas!

That would ruin you for sure.

But you’re the one alleging that he had sex with her while she was underaged. The New York Daily News reported the exact opposite:

Clemens’ lawyer, Rusty Hardin, confirmed a long-term relationship but told the newspaper it was not sexual. . . .
