It usually takes anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or two to get approved.

Friend, one thing I found is that the email address you have your account under on Gravatar has to match by case the email that’s visible when you post a comment. 

In my case I have my entire email address in lower case.

Yea, I had all kinds of problems getting gravatar going the first time. Then we switched service providers and I had it all to do over, that is when I discovered I did not have to capitalize any of the letters in my email address, and I have had alot fewer problems since going all lowercase. One of those tiny little things that glitch up in the Electronic Age.

Friend, first Gravatar has to give your image a rating (R, PG, G, etc.).  Then they’ll send you an email telling you it has been rated.  That usually takes a few hours to a day (the raters are volunteers).  Then once it’s live on Gravatar it may take another day for it to show up here because I don’t pull the Gravatar images directly from their site.  Their site often slows down, and when I’m pulling images off it this site can slow down as well.  So what happens is that SA, once or twice a day, downloads the Gravatars from the site and caches them here locally.  So it may be a day until your Gravatar gets downloaded and cached here.

But it will show up eventually.  Don’t fret.

But also, like Whistler said, make sure the email you’re using here and the email you gave Gravatar match exactly.

Why would you have to do it over? Your computer and service provider have no bearing on these things.

Did you hear about the shooting at a Montreal college today?

The police shot him dead apparantly but some say he shot himself.

No one knows why he did what he did, he had a Mowhak haircut and face piercings apparantly and he was a caucasian...So who knows what group he represents? I would not be susrprised if he was with the Quebec separatists, because he chose the oldest Anglophone college in an other wise mostly French speaking city…

Anyway thanks again for the info on gravatar, I corrected the email “discrepancy” and now I’ll just wait.

We are getting conflicting reports here. I have the shortwave tuned to CBC and they are reporting he shot himself. Still getting reports that there were more than one shooters involved, though FoxRadio is saying not. Still early and confused. I hope all the wounded pull through OK.
