Rick Berg Needs To Take The Goldmark Issue Away From Democrats
Democrats are pushing a new ad about Rick Berg and Goldmark. It cherry picks video of Berg saying he had no involvement in Goldmark Property Management (you can see the full video here, the company changed its name after Berg left it), as if being involved in a perfectly legal enterprise that creates thousands of jobs and provides housing for tens of thousands of people were something to be ashamed of.
Here’s the ad.
Berg needs to take this issue away from the Democrats, and it wouldn’t be that hard. Berg should talk about how he founded the company that would go on to be GPM. He should talk about he and a group of friends got together and started the business fresh out of college. He should talk about how it grew and became a major success story, producing lots of profits while employing lots of people and providing even more people with housing.
The Democrats have some how managed to take that entrepreneurial success story and turn it into something dirty because GPM, which rents a lot of units to college students, has gotten some negative feedback from some consumers. Of course a company as large as GPM isn’t going to satisfy every customer. Of course college students who think they can treat their apartments roughly and then get their security deposits back are going to complain about the company.
So what? GPM is exactly the sort of story we should be proud of in America. We should want more businesses like GPM to be started. Berg needs to talk about that, and talk about why Democrats are attacking this business.
Because it’s clear why they are dedicating so much time to GPM. It’s because they don’t want to talk about Obamacare. Or the economy. Or the horrendous leadership track record of Heidi Heitkamp’s political party which has gone so far left she has to pretend as though she’s not a member of it any more.Tags: election 2012, goldmark property management, Heidi Heitkamp, North Dakota News, Rick Berg
