Reuters: David Duke Is An “American Academic”

Oh my…

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran opened a conference on Monday to examine the Holocaust and question whether Nazi Germany used gas chambers to kill Jews, drawing condemnation in the West and criticism from Iran’s Jewish community. . . .

Among the participants was U.S. academic David Duke, a former Louisiana Republican Representative. He praised Iran for hosting the event.

“There must be freedom of speech, it is scandalous that the Holocaust cannot be discussed freely,” Duke, a former Ku Klux Klan leader told Reuters. “It makes people turn a blind eye to Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people.”

David Duke is an academic?  I’m… speechless.  But what more are you going to expect from a news service that refuses to call the monsters who suicide attack our troops and hide behind civilians in Iraq “terrorists.”

And calling him a Republican is a bit of a misnomer too, given that no less than Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush campaigned with his opponent.  He may have been on the ticket as a Republican, but he got no help from the GOP.

Comments

Oh come on - Ward Churchill is an academic too!

Not a very high threshold, I know.

Ken McCracken on December 11, 2006 at 01:39 pm

If that’s the standard that Reuters is using to be a Republican, then Fred Phelps is clearly a Democrat.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

He world for Gore’s campaign too, I believe.

And, while we’re at it, Duke was a Democrat when he first got started.  He switched parties, though the GOP didn’t want him.

Plus, there’s always the fact that the Republicans don’t support their former KKK leaders.  Isn’t Robert Byrd like the most senior Democrat in the Senate right now?

Reuters wrote that with a straight face too.  Duke is about as much an academic as Homer Simpson.

David Duke has a PhD, and has written several books [without pictures and not about sports], and he has taught college courses at a major University, thus by definition, he is an “academic.” Now go back to your comic books and ESPN.

Why is it that we Americans apparently require a Persian leader to show us the meaning of “Freedom of Speech.” As a child I grew up and actually believved we lived in a great country BECAUSE we were able to say what we wanted. Today, I know that is a lie, we can say anything we like about anyone or anything as long as it is not about Jews or the holocaust.

I don’t believe there is sufficient forensic of empirical evidence to support the notion that there were “homocidal gas chambers” at any of the German run camps. Quite frankly, as Ahmadineschad said, it is a myth. I have read extensively on this subject and have visited several “Holocaust” memorials. I’m sorry, I just don’t believe it. Does that make me a “hater” too? http://www.davidduke.com

Sarah,

Whether you are a “hater” or not is ultimately between your conscience and your God.

However, your conclusions do mark you as one of the least intelligent examples of a two-legged species to occupy the planet lately.  But then your reference to the David Duke website already told us that.

If you were actually interested in discovering the truth, you might start with the memoirs of the survivors of Aushwitz, Bergen-Belson, and other German Nazi death camps, both the victims and those Germans who “worked” there.  You could also check out the memoirs of some of the American GI’s who liberated those camps, and the horrors of what they found when they did so.

On the other hand, if it is empirical evidence that you require, there are records available detailing those who were shipped off to the camps never to return.  A little patience and a good calculator would do wonders for your perspective.

Bat One on December 19, 2006 at 08:14 am

Sarah: Even if you believe the canard that there were no gas chambers, machine guns work quite well in killing large numbers of people, along with starvation and disease.  Not to mention the human experiments, which are quite well documented.  Your hatred would be better directed at those who would commit such genocide, which includes Mahmoud, as well as David Duke.

Bat One is a typical slave. At this juncture Bat, it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt.

The reason people question the holohoax is for exactly the same reason 45%+ of America questions the official version of 9-11, because there are many legitimate questions and so few forthcoming answers.

The Jewish media is complicit in both the lies associated with the holohoax and 9-11. The MSM is losing readers/viewers in droves, these people are seeking the truth on the Internet. The time for liars to be revealed in all their nakedness nears.

Your attempts at questioning the intellect of anyone that dares defy the Jews is antiquated, predictable and boring.

Is anyone interested in what Revisionism has really done to destroy the “official holocaust story?” If so, go here and read a short deconstruction of the holocaust mythos by Dr. Robert Faurisson, the greatest living revisionist scholar.

Melissa,

I guess it is convenient that few holocaust survivors remain at a time when the internet has risen to its current status. But, don’t allow their relative quiet on the web lend credibility to holocaust deniers. You might not want to walk all over those graves so quickly.

Today, I know that is a lie, we can say anything we like about anyone or anything as long as it is not about Jews or the holocaust.

You’re saying it.  Are the police at your door?  You can say what you like about the holocaust, we just don’t have to listen to it.  Free speech does not give you the right to an audience.

Melissa,

I had intended to address a comment to you after a working lunch, in answer to your “Freedom of Speech” mini-tantrum above.

(The answer, of course, is that while we all enjoy the right to speak freely in this country, within reason, there is no constitutional guarantee of an audience, nor is there any sort of “right” to have what you say taken seriously.  You may say what you like… but the rest of us have an equal right to criticize and disparage what you say as rubbish.  The fact that you open your mouth does not obligate anyone else to pay attention… thankfully.)

I don’t recall that you and I have crossed rhetorical swords in the past, though given what you’ve written here, what you have to say is certainly easily enough forgotten.  So I’m not sure why you would label me a “slave” or encourage me to remain quiet.  After all, as I just pointed out, you were the one trumpeting “Freedom of Speech” just a short while ago.  Perhaps, like Orwell’s pig, and assorted other leftist heroes, you regard yourself and your point of view, as more equal than others.

As for appearing a fool, I’ll leave that to you.  I honestly couldn’t care less what your opinion may be.  I’ll continue to exercise my own Freedom of Speech, and savage those congenital ignoramuses on the left who stupidly insist that their’s should be the only voices heard.  If you find that “antiquated, predictable, and boring” perhaps you should find another, more suitably rewarding endeavor to pursue.  Crayola offers a number of basic collections that should do quite nicely.  Leave an address and I can have a box delivered in time for the upcoming celebration of Christ’s birth.

You intellectul troglodyte, can’t you recognize a conservative position on the meaning of the First Amendment when you see one? I’m so far to the right I consider Rush Limbaugh to be a left leaning philo-semitic faggot. You wouldn’t recognize a “conservative” if one were kicking your teeth out. You’re a fraud and a fraud that has nothing but comptempt for the Constitution and patriotic Americans.

robert108 on December 19, 2006 at 11:03 am

Melissa and Bat,

It’s interesting that anyone would be historicly challenged enough to actually present this point of view:

Melissa said:

The Jewish media is complicit in both the lies associated with the holohoax and 9-11.

The truth of Nazi Germany’y slaughter of millions - not just Jews, but gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally and physically crippled, began to come to light during the war and at the end of the war. The “Jewish media” had no political sway, especially in Europe, where Jews had been betrayed to the Nazis by their sycophants in France, Austria, Poland and many other places.

Melissa, your take on this is, to put it bluntly, bullshit. It happened. There is no vast Jewish conspiracy targeting the misunderstood Nazis. There is no conspracy about 9/11 except by the verminous sand lice who planned and committed that crime against humanity.

Just another “blame everyone but the real bad guys” conspiracy theorist. Puh-leeeeze.

Apparently not… but but I certainly can spell.

I’m so far to the right I consider Rush Limbaugh to be a left leaning philo-semitic faggot.

Of course!  A Lyndon LaRouche loony!  I admit that I sometimes have difficulty making the distinction between those cacaphonous quacks and the usual assortment of leftwing trolls that show up here to strut their stuff.  Honestly, I meant no offense, so please don’t feel slighted.

I’m so far to the right I consider Rush Limbaugh to be a left leaning philo-semitic faggot.

Considering the endentatic source, I’m sure he will be endlessly aggrieved to hear this. //sarcasm extraordinaire//

You wouldn’t recognize a “conservative” if one were kicking your teeth out

Not exactly something I’m likely to worry about, either rhetorically or in person.

You’re a fraud and a fraud that has nothing but comptempt for the Constitution and patriotic Americans.

I have laid my life on the line for that Constitution and the principles it stands for, which more than you have done, isn’t it?  If I were a fraud, it would take more intelligence than you and your three best friends could muster to prove it, and what I have the most contempt for is pretentious dimwits like you whose only salient contribution to life on this planet is making the rest of us look so much better by comparison.

P.S.  Again, if you’ll leave your address, I can have those crayons to you by Christmas.

While I deeply appreciate your thoughts on the matter, I am not concerned with Chris’ vacuous lack of civility.  That sort of belligerence results from frustration, and her obvious inability to offer anything intellectually substantive.  A couple of Pampirin, and she’ll be just fine again.
