Republicans Want Obama To Release Communication Between Blagojevich And Transition Team

Which shouldn’t be a problem for Obama, right? Because he’s the transparent President.
Right?

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson today called on President-elect Barack Obama to uphold his pledge of expanded transparency and release any records of discussions between the Obama-Biden transition office and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich regarding the appointment of Obama’s successor to the United States Senate. Today, Governor Blagojevich and his Chief of Staff were arrested for corruption and conspiring to profit from the Governor’s ability to appoint Obama’s successor.
“President-elect Obama’s presidential transition team has said the American people should have a ‘seat at the table’ and pledged to expand transparency in decision-making. If President-elect Obama is serious, he should immediately release all records of discussions about the appointment of Obama’s successor that he and his transition team may have had with Governor Blagojevich or Governor Blagojevich’s office. The American people expect and deserve nothing less. When politicians like Governor Rod Blagojevich exploit the power of elected office for personal gain, they demonstrate a disregard for standards of integrity and ethical conduct. Governor Blagojevich’s actions are breathtaking in their callousness and arrogance.”

According to the criminal complaint filed by federal authorities in this case, Blagojevich sought to
“leverage” President-elect Obama’s transition team for favors in exchange for appointing someone of their liking to the Senate.
Blagojevich may just be the tip of the iceberg here.
The question is: Was Obama playing along?
If he was, I suspect the shredding machines are working overtime down at the Office of the President-elect.

    Dino,

Lithium makes a good mixer with vodka, or so i’m led to believe.

  • Jay

Not to shit in your glee sandwich, Rob, but it appears from recent chatter that Rahm Emanuel may be the guy that spoke with Blogo’s office AND/OR may have been the one that tipped the feds off.

    I guess we’ll see.

Unlike Dino, I don’t think this is “manufactured” like some of the other crap on this site. I do, however, think it’s a smidgin premature to get the panties bunched up just yet. Leave the newest “guilt by association” meme alone until there’s at least something palpable there.

Probably just another corrupt idiot. From what I understand from reading the documents, it appears that Mr. Blogo wasn’t exactly a mental wizard.

  • thetodd

I suspect the shredding machines are working overtime down at the Office of the President-elect.

And when your suspicions are proven horrendously, incontrovertibly wrong, will you respond with the latest installment of Friday Night Babes?

I can just imagine your thought process this morning… “Let’s see. Well, we have another corrupt governor, let’s see if.. he IS a Democrat! I have a story!! Wait, Illinois? That’s where OBAma’s from!!! I can implicate him in this too!!! YEEHAW!!!!”

  • RebTex

Actually, ethics & morals seem to be a rare commodity in Washington.
    On either side.
Every thread of the root has to be traced.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

And why don’t you stick to the REAL facts, Rob.
McCain was linked to a hateful pastor of his own

Jay: We shouldn’t have to explain this to you like a petulant child, but anyone with half a brain could tell the difference between asking a pastor for his endorsement and sitting in the pew under one’s teaching for twenty years.

Twenty years, Jay. Twenty years! McCain didn’t spend twenty seconds under the “hateful pastor” that braindead, boneheaded libs tried to link him to. If you guys didn’t have false equivalence, you’d have none at all!

Maybe you should be the one “paying attention”?

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

The Democrats created the problem as you know. The Bush administration and even John McCain tried to reign in the Dem piggie banks of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac but the Dems blocked it.

  • Dino

“Republican believe everything they use should be free and if not that they should be able to take it without paying. Democrats believe you should support the country you celebrate on July 4th. That includes paying for its upkeep and progress.”

    Deadbeat.

  • Jay

So are we allowed to question Obama’s judgment over this, or is that heresy?

Why do you INSIST on being such a child? You can question his judgment all you want. I will not engage in that ridiculous “guilt by association” garbage with nothing more to substantiate it. I won’t be critical of his judgment for “supporting” for a corrupt Democratic candidate anymore than I would laud him for not “supporting” the former corrupt Republican governor. It’s ridiculous. Until he is shown to have been complicit in something, I won’t do it. If he IS complicit in something this sinister, then I’ll call him on it.

That has, an will continue to be, where you and I differ Rob. What’s disturbing is that you insist on acting like a petulent child when I, or anyone else, refuses to engage.

  • Rusty

I’m sure the Obamaster’s response will be, “This isn’t the Blagojevich I knew…”

  • Dino

It’s manufactured in the attempt to tie this to Obama.

But that never stopped the brainstem brigade before.

I think you’ll be surprised how little traction you people will get in trying to “clinton” the new President. I believe it will only drive more people away from you. Other than the “30-percenter” brainstems, no one wants to waste the time when the country is already collapsing.

Expect the world after Jan 20th to be very different from the one Clinton dealt with. The Obama admin and the democrats won’t roll over like they did in 93. Republicans will be demonized publicly for their role in creating the economic crisis.

  • thetodd

Has Rob posted a single story on Blagojevich’s actions today, or have they all been about Obama’s relationship with him?

  • Puzzlefeet

Please read section 104 of the indictment.

  • Dino

One can almost feel the breathless excitement and anticipation as the brainstems salivate over another manufactured scandal!

Just think, brainstems. You may have lost the election but this new development could mean that we still see a VP Palin being sworn in after Obama resigns before taking office!

This is almost as good as a blowjob under the desk!

  • Zakk

Aside from that other gibberish, let’s look closer at what you call

    “salivate over another manufactured scandal!”

. Who exactly is manufacturing this scandal?

This is almost as good as a blowjob under the desk!

You do realize the guy was SELLING the Senate position. I think that’s a bit larger than a BJ under the desk.

Now, take this post over to HuffPost and get one of the geniuses over there to help you come up with a reply.

Enjoy your time in crazy land.

  • di butler

    Rob,

Do you know this asshole in real life, or is he just a troll who has som strange attachment to you?

  • di butler

    Sorry Rob,
I should have been more clear, I meant this Jay character. I thought it was weird the way he seemed to want to attack you, only. That’s why I thought you must know him. Course he offended me right off the bat, but he seems like a swell guy.

  • Jay

    Sorry, Fitzpatrick. Brain fart.

  • HG

Probably just another corrupt idiot [closely associated with Obama].

  • di butler

    Rob,

No, he doesn’t. And by the way, I’m getting really sick of Dino’s faggy ass. Really sick. Sick, sick, sick.

  • RebTex

Thank you, puzzle for pushing me to read the whole thing.
Section 104 can be read to say the obama group knew the gov. wanted perks or money & refused them.
If they did know, they didn’t report this guy.
After reading the package, I feel that the wife should have been arrested, too.
Shje’s heard in the background directing a couple of the calls.
That means that she knew what was going on.

  • Jay

None of this matters? Who you choose to associate yourself with matters. If McCain had a history of palling around with an abortion clinic bomber you would have thought that mattered. If this were Palin trying to weasel quid pro quo out of Bush for appointing Stevens’ replacement you’d think it matters.

I don’t think it matters. And why don’t you stick to the REAL facts, Rob. McCain was linked to a hateful pastor of his own…one who’s endorsement he all but begged for. I denounced the “guilt by association” at that time, chalking it up to a stupid political stunt, just like everything else he did this election season. I believe you shrugged it off as well.

I’m mocking you because you are incapable of admitting that Obama isn’t perfect.

Pay attention, Rob. Just because I tend to disagree with all the stupid connections you try to make to justify your idiotic prediction that Obama “would never sit in the white house”, doesn’t mean I find him infallible. I did disagree with his inclusion of Donnie McClurkin in his campaign and I’ve continually disagreed with his non-position on gay rights. In addition, I disagree with his belief that “substantive due process” is anything but a judicial fiction. Simply because I don’t do a 6-degrees to Obama analysis every time something bad happens, doesn’t mean I find him infallible. It simply means I think you’re being unreasonable and hyper-partisan.

But this is typical. You don’t like what I have to say, you can’t put together a valid argument, so instead you insult me and try to change the subject to a debate about the debate instead of whatever it is that’s got your Obama fanboy hackles up.

This is why you’re nothing but a petulant child. When all else fails, you have nothing more to your argument than your self-created specter of idol worship. “I’m right and if you don’t agree with me, you’re nothing but a clueless fanboy”. Get over yourself. It’s pathetic.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

quote]It’s manufactured in the attempt to tie this to Obama. Democrats: Keeping manufacturing jobs in North America! Graft and Corruption Manufactured while you wait!

Expect the world after Jan 20th to be very different from the one Clinton dealt with.

    Beware flying unicorns! Heh.

  • Dino

    OH WE GOT HIM NOW!

Soon we’ll be toasting Prez McCain!

And then the little brainstems woke up!

  • Jay

Don’t you think, Rob, that with an investigation of this magnitude…one that apparently begun well before the election concluded…that Pat Fitzgerald would include a complaint against Obama or his staff for obstruction of justice of whatever “big trouble” you claim he may be in? Or should we just chalk it up to another conspiracy?

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

It’s even as good as a sitting president committing perjury while in office.

  • Mickey

Obama’s election may just turn out to be comedy gold.

  • RebTex

Expect the world after Jan 20th to be very different from the one Clinton dealt with

    We know.
We saw the attack in India.

  • RebTex

I’d also point out that section 107 directly implicated obama’s current staff.,

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Not to shit in your glee sandwich, Rob, but it appears from recent chatter that Rahm Emanuel may be the guy that spoke with Blogo’s office AND/OR may have been the one that tipped the feds off.

    That may be.

Or it could also be that Blago made the offer, Obama’s people turned him down…but then never alerted the authorities to the Guv’s shady dealings.

That could also be the problem.

If it’s your scenario then I will join you in praising Obama for a job well done. Because despite your claims that every inconvenient truth about your Messiah is a lie, I do tell the truth and you can’t prove otherwise.

Probably just another corrupt idiot. From what I understand from reading the documents, it appears that Mr. Blogo wasn’t exactly a mental wizard.

Well, he’s a mental wizard your messiah help put in office:

And, it should be pointed out, Mr. Obama has a relationship with Mr. Blagojevich, having not only endorsed Blagojevich in 2002 and 2006, but having served as a top adviser to the Illinois governor in his first 2002 run for the state house.

That 2002 endorsement came at the same time that Axelrod had such serious concerns about whether Blagojevich was ready for governing he refused to work for his one-time client.

According to Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., Mr. Obama’s incoming White House chief of staff, Emanuel, then-state senator Obama, a third Blagojevich aide, and Blagojevich’s campaign co-chair, David Wilhelm, were the top strategists of Blagojevich’s 2002 gubernatorial victory.

So are we allowed to question Obama’s judgment over this, or is that heresy?

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

It’s manufactured in the attempt to tie this to Obama.

So what, we shouldn’t even be asking Obama’s questions about his possible involvement here?

I’m not saying Obama was involved, but what’s wrong with getting the evidence to determine one way or another?

After all, Obama promised to be transparent. You want him to follow through on his promises don’t you?

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

    Manufactured scandal?

The feds apparently have Blago on tape selling that he’d “like to make money” from this Senate appointment.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

What troll would you be referring to specifically? Jay? Dino? The Todd?

I know of Jay. He’s a fellow North Dakotan with a blog that I read from time to time. Never met him face to face, but North Dakota is a small community.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Please read section 104 of the indictment.

I read it, Puzzled, and you had better hope someone from the Obama camp was the one to go to the Feds over this. Because if not, Obama’s in deep crap.

By the way, Obama helped put this guy in office.

    Great judgment your guy has.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Why do you INSIST on being such a child? You can question his judgment all you want. I will not engage in that ridiculous “guilt by association” garbage with nothing more to substantiate it.

So you’re saying that there’s nothing to substantiate Obama’s bad judgment?

    Jeremiah Wright?

    Tony Rezko?

    William Ayers?

    Blago?

None of this matters? Who you choose to associate yourself with matters. If McCain had a history of palling around with an abortion clinic bomber you would have thought that mattered. If this were Palin trying to weasel quid pro quo out of Bush for appointing Stevens’ replacement you’d think it matters.

I guess all that matters with Obama is that he’s The One, right?

    Hypocrite.

What’s disturbing is that you insist on acting like a petulent child when I, or anyone else, refuses to engage.

Petulant child? I’m mocking you because you are incapable of admitting that Obama isn’t perfect.

But this is typical. You don’t like what I have to say, you can’t put together a valid argument, so instead you insult me and try to change the subject to a debate about the debate instead of whatever it is that’s got your Obama fanboy hackles up.

It’s clear from the affidavit filed by the federal government that Blago was talking to someone from the Obama campaign.

Also, Obama worked on two of Blago’s campaigns. Was, in fact, instrumental in getting Blago elected. Twice.

So what exactly was your point again, genius?
