Republicans For Obama?

Not really, says Romano in Newsweek:

…are there enough rank-and-file Republicans whispering their support at Obama rallies to actually make a difference on Election Day?
As I discovered from examination the last 18 months of head-to-head general election polls, the answer is an emphatic “no.” In fact, John McCain’s share of the Democratic vote has typically been larger than Obama’s share of the Republican vote. In other words, it’s not that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright scared the Obamacan masses off, as some pundits have theorized–it’s that they never existed (in any unprecedented way) to begin with. In December 2006–before the unfamiliar Illinois senator had officially announced his candidacy–McCain attracted 25 support among Dems versus Obama’s eight percent among Repubs, according to a FOX News poll. Those numbers tightened over the next few months, but Obama never established a sustained lead. A February 2007 Quinnipiac survey showed McCain with 17 percent crossover support, for example, versus nine percent for Obama; in a June 2007 sounding by the same firm, McCain still led 15 percent to 11. During primary season–between December 2007 and April 2008–McCain’s Democratic number hovered between 18 and 22. Obama, meanwhile, never climbed higher than 13 percent.

Bbbut…what about Lincoln Chaffee?

Republican for Obama here. I have voted Republican all my life except for in 2004 for Bush.

Did McCain back an unpopular approach that being the surge that would be correct. Ask yourself this question though. Would we be in Iraq if Obama was President? Obama shows a wisdom few in national politics have shown. He opposed the war in Iraq and his assessment was correct. It wasn’t the first time either.

As far as conservatives stand for the constitution. Let’s talk about George W. Bush. Wire tapping and other things that he has authorized via Executive Order directly oppose the constitution. Bill Clinton was impeached for something far less than what George W. Bush has done.

Regardless of who is President they have an obligation to uphold and defend the constitution. We have a system of checks and balances in the US Congress and Supreme Court. They do their job and it won’t be a problem to make sure the constitution is upheld.

Well, I read at Comcast today that Obama is seriously considering conservative Republican Chuck Hagel as his V.P. running mate.

After the word conservative, please insert lots of sarcasm.

Kenny hit the proverbial nail on the head. To be a true republican you should probably abide by a few udisputeable ideas; Less government intrusion on a person’s live,
Strong national defense, and you are what you make of yourself.

If the national party would stick to these basic premises and stop allowing the Conservative Idiots have the keys to the house, then you would literally see the end of the Democratic party as we know it today. Because when it comes down to it, more people espouse true Republican values in this country than what the Dumocrats are trying to hock….

…Obama is seriously considering conservative Republican Chuck Hagel as his V.P. running mate.

More patently pointless pandering from the Democrats’ candidate. Not to mention the blatant linguistic misappropriation. Only a radical leftist or an ignoramus would consider Chuck Hagel to be a conservative. Obama may well qualify as both.

Absolutely, Chief, although I think the last falls under “individual independence”, just like conservation of resources.

Please…to call Jim Leach and Lincoln Chaffee Republicans is like calling Obama a Republican. Give me a break.

The underlying assumption is always that if someone is a Republican, they MUST be a conservative. But that’s not always true. There’s no shortage of Lieberman Republicans, who are as liberal as they can be, but have this silly desire to stay alive, and so support a strong military and want our enemies dead.

These are the type of people who can be easily bamboozled into voting for Barack Empty Suit Obama.

Or good people, Marines like Georgia Democratic senator Zell Miller who spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2004.

    …Conservative Idiots…

Conservatives stand for the Constitution, founding principles, individual indepencence, limited govt, personal freedom, economic freedom, religious freedom, political freedom and the free enterprise system. Which of those don’t you support?
Here’s a chance to show your superior intellect.

Republicans for Obama is a Potemkin village, rather like the nearly defunct and toothless “Democrats for Life”.

A “Republican” who just vomits up all the typical lying leftie talking points? You lie, Dan.
