Republicans Boycott Cap And Trade Committee Meeting Leaving Barbara Boxer All By Herself

Senator Barbara Boxer is pushing ahead with efforts to cram a cap and trade bill through Congress before the campaign’s for next-year’s midterm elections start and paralyze the progress of controversial liberal legislation. Republicans, though, want to slow her down and vowed to protest a committee meeting aimed at furthering cap-and-trade’s progress because Boxer wouldn’t allow time for an economic analysis of the bill.
Senator Boxer pushed ahead with the committee meeting anyway, and this was the result:

Nobody showed up.
Just another moment of unity brought to you by the new spirit of bi-partisanship and cooperation ushered in by Democrats.

What is the use? The use is if people who get it don’t get the word out (and SOON) it may be too late. The next election is probably the most critical one the United States has ever faced. The Republicans had a mandate and squandered it on bloating the government and put forth a President that couldn’t -spell- “veto.” The Democrats have a mandate and are plowing forth with pure, unadulterated socialism. Some how we’ve got to get the word out that STATE government officials had better start fighting back against the power grabs or -they- will be ousted too!

    this is good

Score: 0 Senators, one piece of furniture!

Bet your ass she is PISSED. How dare they not obey Her commands.

I think all meetings should be handled this way. If nobody shows up these Elected Spenders can do no more harm. That is better than their Spending, Spending, Spending. We need to vote them all out. Johnny Isakson, R., GA., is backing the new $8500 first time home buyer scam. Why is the R doing that? Because his family is in real estate. All these Elected Spenders do is buy their seats, keep their friends and family in jobs and take care of themselves. As for helping the rest of us, forgetaboutit. STOP the SPENDING. STATE RIGHTS not Federal Socialism. Less government. Fewer meetings. Washington should not be regulating our lives. They could protect our borders, defend our Republic and work within the confinements of the US Constitution. But that doesn’t seem to be enough POWER for these Elected Spenders. I could go on for hours, but what is the use? They are NOT LISTENING. YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Republicans boycott cap and trade meeting? Where are all the democrats on this committee? The only democrat I see is Boxer LOL.

  • Mike Hunt

How much taxpayer dollars went to fund this meeting?

Then you need to join the real economy, the one you call “underground”. Government has the authority to tax, at a very low percentage and within very limited boundaries. People are in the “underground” economy because government, at all levels, has massively over reached it Constitutional bounds. Forcing people to accept that is what is criminal.

  • Ray Chandler

Democratic-controlled government at its very best.

    Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? . . . .

Maybe Boxer should get Acorn to manufacture some votes to get bill through committee.

  • Dave Kight

Dang, sure wish Herman Cain had beat him in the primaries in ’04

  • mplsbob

    Hahahahaha. Man that’s funny!

  • haroldsmith

I would like to hear more about how the fair tax works? In our county (Indian River County Fl.)
over 45% of all commerce is estimated being carried on through the underground economy. What this is doing to the honest American who cannot avoid taxes is criminal. Our published rate of unemployment is 12.5 %. Those that have been working underground and not being counted probably pushes the rate to about 22%. This is actually a depression rate.

  • spartacus

This will turn into her having the support of 100% of those attending the meeting…

  • mplsbob

hello hello hello, is there anybody in there?

  • jeffp57

Johnny Isakson is a FairTax Act supporter, and is anti-criminal alien amnesty.
From those two points alone he has my undying support and vote. He has been faithful to the conservative cause.
I will however reprimand him on the 1st time home buyer scam if that is in fact the truth.
