Conservatives tried to warn them. I first wrote about Romneycare being a problem for Mitt Romney and his presidential aspirations back in April of 2006. So let me just say it.

I told you so.

This is why nominating Mitt Romney, the ideological godfather of Obamacare, to be the GOP’s presidential candidate in a cycle that in a lot of ways is a referendum on Obamacare was a terrible idea.

What’s more troubling than the idea that Romney might lost due to this glaring bit of hypocrisy, saddling America with another four years our nouveau Jimmy Carter, is the fact that Republicans are going to become so invested in defending Romney on Romneycare that they’ll lose the moral high ground to push back against Obamacare.

If they haven’t lost it already.
