Rep. Pete Stark: We’re Raising Kids To Get Their Heads Blown Off For The President’s Ausement

Good grief…

I yield myself two minutes. Madam speaker, I, first of all, I’m just amazed that they can’t figure out — the Republicans are worried that they can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you going to get that money? Are you going to tell us lies like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war? You don’t have money to fund the war on children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if he can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement.

Why didn’t he just go ahead and accuse the President of punching babies and blending puppies too?

Congress' approval at 11%–As we listen and watch the Pelosi Dems I am surprised the approval is above zero. Well, there is always Move-on. org–must be some people there that love good-ole Pete and Nancy.

Finally a guy who lays the truth on the table.

The war is illegal and Congress does not have the money they're spending to fund it. They are borrowing it and giving it to defense and oil contractors which has the added bad result of decreasing the value of the money that you have. You think you're being patriotic by supporting this contrived genocide but you are helping Bush destroy your country and murder your children.

Bush is just one step above punching babies and blending puppies?

"…They sure don't care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq."

You know this is really starting to piss me off. Why doesn't some Republican file a lawsuit alleging that the Iraq way is illegal so that the courts can state, unequivocally, that th ewar is in fact completely legal?

More tin foil wearing morons from the left. 11% approval rating, this is exhibit "A".

  • Eneils Bailey

I just hope the Conservatives/Republicans are cataloging all this sheer idiocy for use in the 2008 election.

At this point in time, the dims are appealing to that eleven per cent that approve of their governance, and the MSM is acting as their slaves by not reporting that we have mentally deficient Congress-Critters.
Not a day passes that we don't have entertaining comments such as this from a highly-respected member of the dim Congress. When your leaders are Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, the opposition will have will have more ammunition than they can possibly utilize.

Hey, Harry and Nancy, the fish rots from the head down. People will smell your odor first. Trite, but true, in the case of these two.

EWS48: Where were your tears when Saddam and his two insane sons were raping, torturing and murdering innocent Iraqi's (men, women and Children)?

contrived (not natural or unrealistic) genocide

If it is unnatiral and/or unrealistic doesn't that mean it really is not genocide at all, rather just an idea you have constructed in your own mind? If it is contrived (unconvincing) it is not real!

What genocide (the systematic killing of all the people from a national, ethnic, or religious group, or an attempt to do this) are you referring to?

    Why is the war illegal?

When you make reckless, idiotic charges like this and refer to this being an illegal war, you either need to present specific objective documentary data to support your claims or suffer being marginalized as an extreme Left Wing ideologue of very low or of lazy intellect.

Pete Stark is a senile old man trying to resuurect his marvelous days in the Sixties of fighting the civil rights battles and against the Vietnam War. No one and I mean no one taks him seriously!

When I see "your country" used, I ignore it. I care no more about foreigners opinions of my country anymore than I expect them to care about my opinion of theirs. Which begs the question, why the hell are so many foreigners trying to get into this country if it's so evil?

  • robert108

If the Dems really were concerned about govt spending, they would vote to cut about 75% of social engineering and entitlements.

It can't be because their countries are such great places to live…

First, the war is NOT illegal. It was Approved by congress, WITh the overwhelming majority of the DEMOCRATS approving it. Even with this new found opposition of being agaisnt the war (democrats make good weathermen, they can tell you how the wind blows) they can't stop funding it. All they can do is come out with bombastic statements like this…no wonder their approval rating is at 11%.moroms are running this country from top to bottom. Throw the bumbs out – all of them.

  • MikeAdamson

I've never believed the stories about Bush blending puppies.

A genocide against radical Islam?! OH NO!! How terrible!

(ews48 – thanks for showing us which side you're on, you Muslim supporting dipshit.)

  • Camille J.

This is going to be a short post and mostly directed at a comment or post made earlier today. Uh, to all of you who think the war is legal I urge you, no implore you, to look up the law on how and when a "war" can take place. I believe if you do you will no longer post uninformed (to be PC about it) statements. Iraq is not a war and the fact that Bush has turned it into a war by usurping our military, our federal budget and our taxes to conduct it makes it an illegal war. The only way a war can be legal is to have it declared by Congress. So for the sake of all American's stop posting comments about policies and laws you know nothing about.

  • Camille J.

For pity-sake people…Congress did not approve the war!!! They approved the President to use force to go after those people who attacked us. THAT WAS NOT IRAQ in case you still didn't know that. So think before you speak people please!! You're making America look even dimmer than the world thinks we are!!!

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

Camille what exact law are you talking about?

Are you taking any prescription medications?

BTW: Since you disagree with this one you surely are on record as disagreeing with the Bosnian campaign where Clinton bombed people without *UN approval* and without *the US Congress's approval*.

But don't worry about it, we don't expect consistency from you folks.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

They approved the President to use force to go after those people who attacked us. THAT WAS NOT IRAQ in case you still didn't know that.

Umm, Camille, it turns out Congress specifically approved military action before we invaded Iraq. Now Democrats like Hillary Clinton are trying to say they only voted that way to threaten Saddam and they didn't mean it.

Do you really trust someone who voted to go to war and won't admit it?

  • robert108

They approved the President to use force to go after those people who attacked us.

Since you don't know this, no country attacked us; it was the Islamic terrorists, and the President was authorized to attack them wherever they are, which includes Iraq. We actually got a twofer, since we are killing Islamofascists there, and have also freed a formerly oppressed people to determine their own future. Thought you lefties loved that sort of stuff; you know, freeing oppressed people?

  • Bat One

Perhaps you'd be good enough to provide some assistance to those of us who know nothing about those laws. Which laws are you specifically referring to? Could you provide some specific FindLaw citations for us?

And what about actions undertaken under United Nations authorizations? Got any pertinent citations for those, please? Or for the specific treaties and accompanying legislation that would implement those particular treaties as well?

Before you start throwing accusations of ignorance around with such stout abandon, perhaps you might wish to see to it that you know exactly what the hell you're talking about. Hmmm?

so this is why the congress has an approval rating of 11%. I think Stark owes every military member and our president an appology. Just remember Pete election year is coming………

  • Octavian415

I wonder if Stark understood that he was stating the simple truth.
Bush and Cheney want war for the sake of war.
War is their only agenda. They want permanent war and they've said so publicly.
    Permanent war = suicide.
Bush and Cheney's agenda is destruction — the destruction of civilization, the destruction of everything. Look at what they've done to Iraq and are insisting on continuing to do indefinitely.
They want to do the same to the US. Just look at the military, science, the environment, the increase in American suffering since they took office.
That's their agenda. And they're good at it.
What do you think will happen if and when they attack Iran?
And all you guys and galls fuming because billions are going to social programs, but you don't mind Bush throwing it down the rathole to destroy civilization.

  • http://peacesource.net/blog Barrie Machin

Over one million Iraqis killed See John Hopkins medical centre a very reputed source http://www.jhsph.edu/publichealthnews/press_relea…
then the 500000 children killed by sanctions, then the radioactive dust from depleted uranium all over Iraq causing a huge increase in cancers. This dwarfs 9/11 and coalition casualties/ 234 9/11s so far.
new estimates for the war $8000 per US citizen. All based on demonstrable lies which are being recycled for Iran. Who profits not the uninsured children of America.

  • carrick

    Barrie Machin:

Over one million Iraqis killed See John Hopkins medical centre a very reputed source

    HAHAHAHAHAH!!! Very reputed source?

Think you're leaking what you really think there, bud. You probably meant "reputable", but "reputed" fits perfect.

You'd have to be a complete idiot to believe that crap. For a rebuttal see any episode of "Reality, Your Existence", or if not that, then IraqBodyCount.org. They provide nice reality checks of this Lancet crap for anybody who has difficulty figuring out the obvious for themselves….

  • docdave

    Over one million Iraqis killed

Funny how this number always gets larger. Even math challenged morons like you should realize how preposterous that number is since over 600 Iraqis per day would have to be killed over a 5 year period to justify it. Think that would make the liberal news?? Idiot…

  • Neiman

Garrick and DocDave: You are both wasting your time, there are far too many liberals out there that have a casual disregard for the facts/truth. They prefer emotionally charged, wild accusations as they know their fellow liberal travelers will swallow these lies whole and then repeat them; and when repeated often enough these lies, to a very large number of people on the Left, become absolute gospel truth, unassailable facts.

The hatred for Bush and the lies about him are staggering to behold, not that I am thrilled about many aspects of his presidency; but the level of lies and hatred about Bush are mind boggling. I heard today where Diane Feinstein, while traveling with Bush to the California wild fires last week was stunned to learn of Bush's vast, in-depth knowledge of world affairs, his depth of understanding, his rational views of world affairs and that he was actually a nice guy. Until then, only what the liberal media and fellow Leftist idealogues said about Bush mattered, but truth is a funny damn thing, when confronted with the facts and an open mind, it can shake a person to the core realizing how wrong they can be about an issue or person.

  • carrick

Of course DocDave makes a good point. The preposterousness of this "1,000,000 dead" mantry of the anti-war left is not even lost on antiwar organizations like iraqbodycount.org.

I respect people whose opinion is different from my own but who are intellectually honest. Some on the left say that IBC is playing into the hands of the right by not running inflated numbers. I say they are doing a more valuable service by giving a realistic estimate of the war dead.

Though even their numbers show a disproporatinate number of dead Iraqis who are young and male. See this for more.

And yes, Neiman I don't doubt that Barrie Machin is beyond hope of reason. The very fact he swallowed this drivel is evidence enough of that.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Just to simplify Carrick's statements a bit, we should always seek to make decisions based on fact. As citizens, we all have a small bit of say in our foreign policy, so where we stand on that policy is an important decision. Troop casualties are an important factor to consider, and thus should be factual.

When you find that you're afraid of the facts because they're inconvenient for your opinions, it may be time to reconsider your opinions.
