Rep. David Obey: Reduced Violence In Iraq Is Because Terrorists Have Run Out Of People To Kill

This has got to be about the most pathetic liberal stab at spinning the improved situation in Iraq I’ve heard to date.

What about the thousands of families returning to their homes in Baghdad? Aren’t those people targets? How about the 30,000 additional “surge” troops we’ve deployed to Iraq? Aren’t they targets? How about the fact that General Petraeus has implemented a strategy that has more soldiers out of the bases and in combat zones than ever before? Have the terrorists killed all of those soldiers?
Of course not. Rep. Obey is a desperate liberal who is trying to avoid this question: What will Democrats do if we win in Iraq?

OK. A wins a win, even if every person in Iraq is now gone. Given his logic we still won.

I watched the Blackwater stuff with interest. If the people being protected are willing to attack the security firm with a 100% success rate it means they aren’t seen as needed.

It must be good news when politicians want to eat you.

This is now the deadliest year for the U.S. in Iraq.

I read a liberal blog today (always good for a chuckle and I get a tax write-off for visiting with the mentally retarded).

Anyway, I digress. This blogger was painfully admitting that it looks as if we may win in Iraq after all and you could tell it was about as much fun for him as giving natural childbirth to a 15 pound baby.

He literally was hoping and wishing throughout the article that somehow, some-way, we might still manage to lose. Friggin incredible.

He also went on to say unashamedly that our winning is a bad thing for Democrats and how disappointing that was.

    ews,

This is now the deadliest year for the U.S. in Iraq.

Yes, for the first time in history, soldiers have died fighting a war. This may finally dispel the age-old rumor that war is safe, often fun and the bad guys usually give up if you just ask nice.

This will re-write the history books for sure!

Americans killed in the Iraq War – 3855
Americans killed at Iwo Jima – 6503

I have to say that Obey is a Moron…

If no one’s left in Iraq does that mean I can finally get the oil for free? /sarcasm

Obey just got it backwards. Terrorists aren’t running out of people to kill, they’re running out of people to do the killing.

  • 2Hotel9

ews, how about listing the number of terrorists killed this year?

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Yes, overall it has been. But that’s only part of the story.

We put more troops on the ground, and thus more targets. But those troops have routed the terrorists so far, and greatly reduced violence.

Of course, that part is inconvenient for your argument, so you leave it out.
