Religious Group Upset At Hem Lengths Of Fox News Females

From the department of “people with too much time on their hands.”

October 9, 2007 — CHRISTIAN “media watchdog group” The Resistance is all worked up over the ultra-femme anchors of Fox News. The group’s leader, Mark Dice, rants in an e-mail, “I see shorter skirts on the women of Fox News than I do on the prostitutes being arrested on cop shows.”

You gotta love Fox’s P.T. Barnum-esque response:

Fox responded, “We’re always flattered to have everyone talking about us in one form or another.”

Personally, I’m just fine with the way female Fox News anchors dress. Megyn Kelly (formerly Megyn Kendall) specifically:

I haven’t time to comment. I must return to my TV to make sure of the evil that is out there. I will spend the whole day to make certain. Maybe I’ll TIVO it so I can check it again and again and again and…………..

Fundamentalist Islam, meet Fundamentalist Christianity. Perhaps later y’all can go out and kill some innocent people together.

Here is the link. Be careful who you defend.

The women’s tank tops they (The Resistance) are selling don’t leave much to the imagination either, all that bare flesh – it’s disgusting!

  • http://www.bikebubba.blogspot.com/ Bike Bubba

My take, as a fundamentalist Christian who isn’t exactly intending to strap on a dynamite & shrapnel vest, is that for someone to compare another’s attire to that of a prostitute, one first needs to know how prostitutes dress. Or undress, as the case may be.

In other words, it details some knowledge that I certainly wouldn’t be comfortable admitting I had, if I had it.

You’d think that “The Resistance” (what a creative name) wouldn’t be selling “sexy” tank tops that are “designed to fit tightly” if they are going to complain about the Fox News anchors:

    Echo……..ECHO!

I haven’t heard a word from her, but I like her already. At least she’s dressed in red.

2Hotel9: I was only going by the little information Rob provided in the thread and based on that alone, I still feel my comments are justified.

However, my compliments to you for providing the link and more information about Mr. Dice, I should have clicked on it right after you commented; yet surely you do not think Dice and his ilk represent a very large segment of the those claiming Christ do you? This appears to be a very extreme, fringe group of zealots, conspiracy theorists and bordeline crazies.

For people of faith, of most religions, the short dresses on the FOX ladies do seem a bit risque’ and perhaps it is encouraged to mildly titillate male viewers, although by todays standards probably not worth commenting on by anyone wanting to be taken seriously. I know the world’s standards have changed since I was a boy, but I still would not approve of my daughter or grandaughter showing that much flesh on camera, although they would probably ignore me. One could say ‘what about how much skin is showing with swimming suits and cocktail dresses and etcetera,’ and that would be a hard case to debate; but it is a strange thing with males that when they see women naked al the time it can get old pretty quick and a bit boring, but have the same woman wear a dress and show her inner things and suggest more to be seen and we men can go a little crazy.

All things being considered, this is probably a pretty silly issue, with Dice not being a joke at all, rather a genuine nut case. Again thanks for the link!

And the Knights Who Say Ni, always a timely comparison for SO many situations. I salute you, Sir!

Those are not the Knights who say NI, that is Castle Anthrax with three score young blondes and brunettes all between the ages of 16 and 18 and a half.

2Hotel9: If I erroneously suggested you were taking a shot at me, I apologize, as that was not my intention.

    Rob:
    1. You know that I was just using an extreme example about your daughter, I really don’t believe you would encourage or approve of such behavior, it was only an extreme example used to highlight my point, not an accustation against you personally.
    2. In your lead in capital letters you said CHRISTIAN “media watchdog group,” which in my opinion intentionally generalized your charges, not focus them on a certain group or person.
    3. Dice/O’Connor is an extremist, but to suggest people are pedantic (too concerned with what are thought to be correct rules and details, e.g. in language) just because they believe in certain, fundamental moral standards for a just, fair and decent society to exist; is to suggest that anyone having any Judeo-Christian moral/social values are all, by virtue of those beliefs, intolerant nutcases and should be marginalized just for believing in morality. That, I think, is not only unfair it is dangerous and will lead to the eventual destruction of this nation, just as it did for the Roman Empire and Greek culture!

No disrespect intended, but please explain for me how you got from a Christian making observations about short hem lengths on FOX to a comparison of Christians with Islam and and Christians killing innocent people. I can’t see the connection, maybe you can make it a bit more clear for us lame brain Christians.

Neiman, I agree that many young girls are dressing far too provocatively these days, but this is a reflection of the loose moral standards of their parents and of society as a whole. I do not have children, but when I do, I will not allow such tarty wardrobes in my home. Of course, I’ll never be able to stop them getting changed once they are out of the house (which teenage girls often do), but a parent can at least try to be a firm disciplinarian.

These female news anchors are perhaps showing a little too much thigh for daytime television, but remember, it is not necessarily they who are responsible for their on-screen wardrobes, but senior Fox executives.

Sir Lancelot: We were in the nick of time. You were in great peril.
    Sir Galahad: I don’t think I was.
Sir Lancelot: Yes, you were. You were in terrible peril.
Sir Galahad: Look, let me go back in there and face the peril.
Sir Lancelot: No, it’s too perilous.
Sir Galahad: Look, it’s my duty as a knight to sample as much peril as I can.
Sir Lancelot: No, we’ve got to find the Holy Grail. Come on.
Sir Galahad: Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril?
    Sir Lancelot: No. It’s unhealthy.
Sir Galahad: I bet you’re gay.
    Sir Lancelot: Am not.

I thought I was hitting this thread first, when it went through I was #3.

I have known about”john connor” and The Resistance for sometime. Hanging out among several different militia groups since the ’80s I hear about all the nutcases and conspiracy wacks. Worst part is a lot of it is not wackjobbery. It is the wild eyed delivery and persistent mumbling and drooling that hurts their chances of being believed.

I was not taking a shot at you, Nman. I was taking a shot at Mark”john connor”Dice. And it is such a broad and obvious target I just can’t resist.

I have to admit the skirts on the link are a bit much..err I mean not much? Either way, it’s sad that the women have resorted to this type of exposure as if it’s part of their qualification for the job. If so, they won’t have much to offer once the ol’ age thing starts takin’ over ;-)

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/Anna/ Anna

Sheesh .. thanks Rob, without your dutiful awareness, this issue would have slipped by me. Thank you, ever so much, for the latest skinful exposure!

I’ll bet there’s a Mullah in the middle east who is busy scaring fathers with the idea of their daughter’s ankles being bared for all to see.

Translation: I don’t care if my daughter does porno movies, as long as I get to bash Christians and anyone thinking that maybe there should be some standards of morality left in the world!

As I said this is a silly issue, Dice is plainly nuts thanks to 2Hotel9′s link; but isn’t it funny how Rob chose to bash Christians generally in his original comments on the thread and now he ties any Christian having moral values to Islamic Mullah’s and their views of female purity. Nice to see he is so fair and reasonable.

Rob will be very interested to know that Air America is introducing a new show promoting atheism and barking about the illness of religion every day. Any contributions in support of that program on the way soon Rob?

ManofFireandLight: I work in a local school district and girls from elemtary school through high school are dressing like street prostitutes today. The result, we hear stories of sexual intercourse in the class rooms, on school property and on school buses.

You can draw your own conclusions on the wisdom of dressing and treating our young women of virtually every age like sex objects available for men to use as means of masturbation.

I cant wait for megyn kelly to pull off a crotch shot, hopefully she will be skin only underneath.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/Anna/ Anna

2Hotel9 how can you possibly have the audacity to refuse the saintliness of Mark Dice .. the self proclaimed savior of Paris Hilton. Surely without this omnipotent being we would, well … be without one to mock.

And if it was your daughter showing her inner thighs to every man in the country?

And this comment was justification for more Christian bashing? “I see shorter skirts on the women of Fox News than I do on the prostitutes being arrested on cop shows.” No calls for a ban, no condemnations, just an observation about the decline in our moral values. Maybe it is you with too much time on your hands?

    If you say so.

I’m not bashing Christians. I’m just bashing pedantic, judgmental, moralizing idiots.
