Reid, Pelosi Tell Bush The Surge Is A Failure

Of course they did.  Not because it actually is a failure, but because they want it to be a failure.

Because that’s what would work best for them politically.

But here’s the problem: The deployment of surge troops isn’t complete yet.  As of June 8th we were still about 2 weeks away from having all the troops on the ground.  And even if all the troops were on the ground as of today, isn’t it only fair to give our soldiers a reasonable amount of time to complete their mission before calling them failures for the sake of political expediency?

Something that, frankly, isn’t all that different from a teacher giving students a test and then taking it back away from them after they’ve just managed to take up their pencils and write their names on it, telling them all that they’ve failed.

Think about how those students would feel, and then think about how it must make our troops feel.
