Redskins Lose

Well, the Redskins have lost. Which means that, according to history, John Kerry will win on Tuesday.

Since 1933, every time the Redskins have won their last game before the presidential election the incumbent party's candidate has won. This year that candidate is George Bush.

But I'm not worried. I mean, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series this year. If there ever was a year when historical sports trends could be ignored its this year.

Well, apparently the Packer win has had an impact in Wisconsin, where the latest (and most reliable) Zogby tracking poll has Kerry up by 7% percent!!

Isn’t it their last home game before the election?

But then, as someone has sagely observed, these streaks go on until they don’t.
