Reason Why I Love North Dakota # 456,792,098

This is one of the headlines in the Bismarck Tribune’s “Top News” section this morning:

So what’s the big deal?  Why is it such a good thing that the arrival of Olive Garden is “Top News?” Well, it’s because there were no rapes or murders or other sensational types of crime to report.

Pretty cool, no?

An Olive Garden? Wow! Can indoor plumbing be far behind???

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

Hey, make fun if you want.  There are advantages to living in the boonies, relatively speaking (not many North Dakotans consider the state capital to be “the boonies").

The war against illegal plunder has been fought since the beginning of the world. But how is… legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime. Then abolish this law without delay … If such a law is not abolished immediately it will spread, multiply and develop into a system.

Indian reservations are in ND as well. They’ve got more than their share of rapes and murders, not to mention every other metric of a failing society.

The folks at the Bismarck Tribune don’t like writing about that stuff on the reservation.  They don’t want to get banished like me.

Besides, out of sight out of mind.

I love that “apparently coming”.

Olive Garden!  For me, it’s all nostalgic.  It’s one of the first places my husband ever took me out to eat.  If it’s coming here, that means North Dakota is as sweet a place to live as I think it is. What a great place to put down roots.

I love that ‘apparently’ part also.

Hell, maybe a headline like ‘cancer apparently cured’ will be next. Whether it gets cured or not, the headline is still correct!

I love Olive Garden too by the way. They have a good alfredo sauce, and those breadsticks are yummy.

I guarantee it will taste the same in ND as it does here in Chicagoland. Apparently, anyway.

Of course you’ve got to realize that this is the western part of the state.  They aren’t swave and sofistikated like we in the East.

North Dakota! The greatest place in the world to live. Come and stay awhile. We’ll keep the light on for ya!

The Olive Garden chain is yesterdays news.  I guess they ran out of places to install their restaurants in highly populated areas and are now moving into the outback.

Yeah, sorry.  We were doing some updates today and the site was sort of slow off and on.

Red Wolf: We have a Super Target, Walmart Super Center, Dennys and even an Old Navy. And believe it or not, we have 28 movie screens in our “metropolitan” area. And of course we do have a couple hundred refugees. But fear not. We have over 8,000 concealed carry permits in a state of less that 750,000 people.

That’s it?

That’s not a lot at all. ND needs to pick up the pace a bit. They are slacking.
