Rare Moment of Honesty from President Obama

Obama today in New Hampshire tried to dispute the idea that a government-run insurance would drive private insurance companies out of business, making the system de facto single-payer.

As long as they have a good product and the government plan has to sustain itself through premiums and other non-tax revenue, private insurers should be able to compete with the government plan, Obama said.

Here comes the money quote:

“They do it all the time,” he said. “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine. … It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.”

Get that? It’s not the private sector carriers that are in danger, but the quasi-governmental one. Just like Obama’s plan for health care. That’s comforting!

    Here’s the truth that Obama mistakenly revealed: USPS once had a monopoly on mail delivery and package delivery. They were so inefficient and bad at it that private companies had to be brought in to handle the traffic, which is why we now have all the private delivery services. It’s the exact opposite of Obama’s lie about the “govt option” providing “competition” for private healthcare. It’s just more of his bullshit.
