Ralph Nader: Barack Obama Might Be An Uncle Tom For The Giant Corporations

Yikes…

It’s ok if Nader says it.  He’s a liberal.

But if, say, Newt Gingrich had tossed out “Uncle Tom” in talking about Obama?

Hate crime.

Sunni and Shia.  It’s starting already.  The Dem Party is a Party of factions, all scrabbling for their piece of the pie.  If Obama tries to be somewhat moderate, the extremists will tear him apart.

If govt control of the economy were the way to go, the Soviet Union would be the richest, most powerful nation in the history of the world.

Thanks to Obama, America remains the only country where it is illegal to drill our own oil!

I thought it was funny. Nader is a nut, he will say anything. I remember when he did some pretty good thing, but in later years he has just been off the chart.

I’m with Hotel, Nader is dead air. Static has more value.

You’d love a ride in my Corvair with the Nader bumper sticker!

I’m still one of those who is baffled that the phrase “Uncle Tom” is used in a derogatory manner, but if it must be, hopefully this puts Nader on the sidelines for good.

By the way, the Corvair’s safety record, even in the years before GM fixed the suspension, was as good as that of other sports cars of the time. I’d drive one if the styling was better.  Nader is a complete and utter fraud.

Did Ralph sell all of his multimillion dollar stock portfolio and give it to charity?2rwu8hs.jpg

This kind of thing is going to lead to a big crap-slinging match in the Komi-Krat party….

I foresee a big slugfest between the old guard Dumo-Kraps and the new Leftist-Proletariat. There is going to be a LOT of in-fighting over power in the party.

While they are equally guilty of wanting to destroy the U.S. and put in place their destructively stupid policies! I can foresee a lefty-liberal civil-war between the new messiah and the Komrade Generals (Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Dodd, Frank,.....).

There is not one one of them who is no-less a greedy power-mongering kommie than the other, and they have shown themselves for who they are.

Hussein-O WILL NOT be as magnanimous to the old guard as they assume.

It would be observationally entertaining, if it weren’t so destructive to us all.

When Will (my son) was in college he went to one of his meetings and he said they all smelled like marijuana. Mr. Nader has probably been smoking too much pot. What a nerd!

The fact that Ralph Nader is even a “tiny” factor anymore is a testament to true, far-out, whacked-up, lefty dreamworks..
As far as being “Big” Business’ Buddy?
BO will probably drive them all out of the country with his “Nieghborlyness” agenda.

Jerry,

If Obama has a “neighborlyness agenda,” does that mean his “neighbors” will be in charge of it?

di,
I only hope so. After all, we’re all Patriots here, right?

Then again, he’s had some pretty strange cats he’s referred to as “just some guys from the neighborhood.”

Jerry on November 5, 2008 at 05:48 pm

The question still remains. Will Obama be a President for the people, or will he be an Uncle Tom for the Fannie Maes of the world?

ews48 on November 5, 2008 at 06:11 pm

Can we just retire the use of that term? It’s plain insulting.

And Barack is no friend to business. Nader is off his rocker.

Obama is absolutely the friend of rent-seeking big businesses.  The kind that love big-government policies that stagnate the economy and eliminate their competitors.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

Rob on November 5, 2008 at 06:26 pm

Obama is absolutely the friend of rent-seeking big businesses.

He’s not a friend, he uses them. Obama favors business practices that lead to government entanglement. The intention of Barack with business is always more power and control for the government. That’s not a friend.

As for Ralph Nader’s silly false choice,
“But his choice, basically, is whether he’s going to be Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations.”
the subservience the rather insulting term defines does not exist. Say what you want about Obama, but he is not a sellout. And in any regard, the subservience would be roles reversed.

The only other choice that Nader offers is that Barack would be an “Uncle Sam for the people of this country”, presumably a good thing.

Off his rocker false choice. Ralph Nader is a looney toon.

That explains his “glazed eye” look.2rwu8hs.jpg

Good lord, it’s started before he’s even taken office. I’m talking about the blood bath these sharks are having fighting for their spot in the feeding line. Looks like round 1. Round 2, the biggest shark has entered the waters, Rhambo, the Rhaminator has positioned himself as first shark. Now it gets bloody, f—k the republicans, knife in the table.

“Die!” stab, stab, “Die!” stab, stab! Anger management needed perhaps?

di butler on November 6, 2008 at 12:37 am

Rabid American’s observation is correct. The old guard liberals will line up to take their charge of the naieve trophy wife “Obama” just like they did to Carter and Clinton.

I gurantee that the military budgets will get cut significantly for more liberal entitlement programs. Energy taxes will go up causing a negative ripple effect.

And don’t forget Obama is now owned by the unions. You can expect unions to double in size in three years. The libs will tack on the “card check,” which would end secret-ballot elections for unions. This will get added to some “middle class” rescue bill.
The end result will be inflation. Add that to high unemployment and BO begins to look like Jimmy Carter all over again.

Mickey on November 6, 2008 at 07:58 am

Obamas “Hope’ and “Change”  campaign mantra will no doubt end up being the same tired old Liberal depend on Government assistance programs.  Obama is so extremely way out Left that even a small reach toward the center will be a huge stretch for him!

Zsa Zsa on November 6, 2008 at 08:15 am

Di, it actually turns out that Ford and Volvo, among others, were starting to advertise seat belts in the late 1950s, long before either Nader or government got into the act.  (again, the man’s a complete fraud)

And Obama a friend to corporations?  Well, the DJIA is down almost 700 points at this point (10am central time Thursday) since his election.  I think investors have a pretty clear view of what his goals are.
