Question For McCain: Is It True You Called Your Wife A C**t?

Classy:

An audience member ambushed John McCain on Thursday at an otherwise placid town hall meeting in Des Moines, Iowa, with a surprise question about whether he had ever called his wife by an obscene term.
The man stood up and first said he wanted to ask the Arizona senator about a “mental health and mental health care” concern.
“Previously I had been married to a woman who was very verbally abusive to me,” the man said. He paused and asked, “Is it true that you called your wife a c***?”
The crowd booed, and McCain responded:
“No, no — you don’t wanna, you don’t wanna. You know, it’s a great thing about town hall meetings, sir,” he said. “But we really don’t — there’s people here who don’t respect that kind of language. So I’ll move onto the next questioner in the back.”

You gotta have some big marbles to ask a Presidential candidate a question like that.

“No, no — you don’t wanna, you don’t wanna. You know, it’s a great thing about town hall meetings, sir,” he said. “But we really don’t — there’s people here who don’t respect that kind of language. So I’ll move onto the next questioner in the back.”

Equally as stupid as some of the questions posed to Democratic candidates by other reporters. Cussing at one’s wife means nothing to the political process. His failure to answer the question, however, because people might be “offended” by the language he used, however, is shady. Just answer the damn question. You guys bitch about BO waffling on this flag pin nonsense and McCain can’t answer this stupid question?

It’s interesting to note that his alleged use of the “C-word” has been excused by his minions as something that resulted from a long hard day. I see a parody of the 3 AM ad on the horizon somewhere.

Marty Parrish, partisan lying dipwad and contributor to the Huffington Post, claimed to be a “Baptist Minister” (BTW, most Baptist ministers do NOT talk like Marty Parrish!) Here’s what Gateway Pundit dug up on ol’ Marty:

Response to the John McCain Town Hall Meeting involving “Baptist minister Marty Parrish.” Marty Parrish is an inactive member of our church. He is not a minister of this church or any other church.

    Pastor Ron Kirkland Th. D.
    First Baptist Church West Memphis

Heh. Who was it said, “Lefties lie. That’s all they’ve got!” ?

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

John Gibson interviewed the partisan dipwad that asked the question. Needless to say, the spineless dipwad, self proclaimed “Baptist minister” does not come across well!

  • http://www.fred08.com/ Winghunter

As though this question is any less relevant than “why do you not wear a flag lapel?”.

Comparing apples to oranges is another mental dysfunction often committed by those incapable of their own governance.

    Many think…

“Many” may think, but it’s painfully obvious that thetodd isn’t one of them!

I agree with you, Rob — it’s not classy, it takes “big marbles” to ask a question like that. I would never do it.

Just as I wouldn’t ask Chelsea Clinton, out stumping for her Dad, about her father’s affair and how her mother has dealt with it. You agreed, Rob — http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/chelsea_clinton_asked_about_her_fathers_oval_office_indiscretions/

That wasn’t real classy, either. Again, I agree with both of your statements — neither side should have gone there. In case some of you don’t want to bother with going back to the previous post, here’s Rob’s quote, which I agree with 100% — “I don’t even like the Clintons and I think that’s out of bounds.”

Waiting now for comments about how Chelsea’s father’s affair was on public grounds, how it is a fair character issue for his wife/her mother, etc., but how McCain’s use of that word was in private so it’s not a fair character issue, etc.

  • http://www.fred08.com/ Winghunter

Yes, big marbles carried in a place that the other end holds not one brain cell.

Give someone with an ounce of reason that same question to pose they could ask it a dozen ways without actually saying the word.

    Must have been a sniveler.

  • thetodd

Many think McCain calls women “cunts” because he does not want to offend conservative male sexists, on whose votes he heavily counts.

A breathtakingly stupid bit of political analysis. Look, dropping out of that GED class obviously didn’t do much to further your career as a satirist.

  • Pilgrim

Hot Air has it up that the guy signed is as a Huffington Post contributor. It looks like he may have been trying to push McCain’s buttons so they could exploit the “temper” issue.

A nice, dirty trick that seems to have backfired.

  • ellinas

Well did he call her a “C**t? Inquiring minds want to know.

  • pparets

thetodd: Actually, there is a huge difference.

The question put to Senator McCain was personal, vulgar, irrelevant and probably the product of a bipolar disorder.

The question put to Senator Obama goes to his motive for not wearing the American Flag on his lapel. Given the recent disclosures about his 20 year relationship to Rev. Wright, it raises other serious questions about what Mr. Obama really does think about America.

Many think that Obama eschews the flag pin because he does not want to offend the far left, on whose votes he heavily counts.

  • Hoss

    He didn’t answer the question.

Jay, you really are a retard. One’s a legitimate question asked to somebody that people have questions about concerning his commitment to this country (see: Michelle; the Reverend; etc.). The second is a question designed to stir, and not worth legitimizing with a response. I wouldn’t expect Obama to dignify a question like “Senator Obama, is it true you screw your mother every Saturday” with a response.

  • Friend of USA

    Obama’s mentor hates the USA,

Obama’s wife has never been proud of the USA,

Obama wants to be the president of the USA,

    BUT

Obama refuses to wear the USA flag on his lapel

If you leftists can not admit this is more serious than what McCain may or may not have called a woman in the past, then you are even more dishonest than I thought you could be.

For what McCain may have said to be comparable to Obama refusing to wear the flag, McCain would have to be running for the presidency of the largest feminist organization in the world.

  • Jay

You’re such a lemming Lik. That’s not biased analysis or anything. He didn’t answer the question.
He sidestepped it. That’s ok with u just so long as its not a dem.

To answer your idiotic question, no. That was easy, wasn’t it?

Do you ever contribute to the discussion at all? Or is your specific purpose to wrangle Rob’s jock?

  • Hannitized

The question put to Senator Obama goes to his motive for not wearing the American Flag on his lapel.

No it wasn’t. It was meant to somehow stir controversy.

When Obama explained, people ignored his response deliberately took his remark out of context so they could paint him as they saw fit.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/ likwidshoe

Jay spews, His failure to answer the question, however, because people might be “offended” by the language he used, however, is shady. Just answer the damn question.

You’re going to have to learn to read a bit more closely:

The question came out of a new book called “The Real McCain,” by Cliff Schecter, that alleges McCain publicly called his wife Cindy that word in 1992. The McCain campaign has called the book “trash journalism” and called the alleged incident a “complete fabrication.”

By the way Jay, is it true that you beat women? As you would say: just answer the damn question.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

Certain people want to lower others to their level. The lowest common denominator it is called. My response would have been similar to John’s, but I would throw the 60′s term back into his face with, ” I won’t legitimize that question with a reply.”

  • pparets

Hannitized: It would seem that the Huffington Post and Rev. Wright’s ongoing public appearances have created far more controversy around, and done far more damage to, Senator Obama than any comments made on SAB about lapel pins, wouldn’t you agree?

  • ollie-B

My, my. We are testy today! McCain’s temper is well known and he just might have slipped at one time or another. Do we really want a foul-mouthed individual representing this country?
At any rate, I’m getting tired of the media making a big deal out of everything and trying to do everything except help the public elect a new President. They thrive on controversy and I am getting sick of it. And no! I am not moving to Russia!

  • thetodd

Because that’s the only time sexism is wrong!

Wash this kids’ mouth out with soap. His parents must be proud.

  • thetodd

The question put to Senator Obama goes to his motive for not wearing the American Flag on his lapel.

The question put to Senator McCain goes to his motive for calling his wife a cunt. Again, why does either one matter? We’re choosing our next president.

  • mdmdc

Winghunter — was my comparison (2nd comment, 10:53 a.m.) close enough to apples-to-apples for you? You didn’t respond (instead choosing the rather easier flag pin thread to follow) so I didn’t know. If you get a chance, please let me know — thanks.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

As though this question is any less relevant than “why do you not wear a flag lapel?”.

I’d agree with that. The flag pin thing has been pretty dumb from the start, though Obama’s flip-flopping on it has been both interesting and telling.
