Queen Pelosi Finds The Peasants Who Are Revolting, Um, Revolting
When Johnny Hart created the diminutive, surly king who so disdained his subjects in the Wizard of Id, I doubt he had anyone like Nancy Pelosi in mind.
Well, his arrogant and tiny ruler has a real life counterpart in Pelosi and it’s really not much of a stretch to compare the two. It seems that both found their revolting peasants to be, well, revolting indeed.
Just this past week Pelosi, angered by a groundswell of discontent from ordinary Americans about a health care bill that few in Congress have read, much less understand, called those who dared question her royal decree un-American. I mean, really. How dare those unwashed peasants question royal edict?
Pelosi, along with the rest of the far and not-so-far left, is simply not used to the common folk questioning whatever it is they happen to be shoveling at the time. They’re especially not used to loud and vocal groups who have the gall to directly confront their elected royaly and point out to them that they don’t believe a word they’re saying. The left thought they had that particular market all sewn up.
Horrors. The nerve of these commoners.
The left and their sidekick, the shuffling Igor known as the main stream media, have done everything they can to demonize the peasant uprising, first by ridicule, then by invective and, finally, by accusation. They’ve painted ordinary Americans as rubes with pitchforks and torches, going so far as calling them Nazis and a “mob”. Pelosi piled on with her “un-American” piece in USA Today never suspecting that instead of cowing the rabble it would only inflame them further.
Oops.
In a even greater display of just how out of touch our royalty are, they decided that they needed eight brand new jets to haul them around to wherever they think their wisdom and guidance is needed at a whopping sum of $550 million dollars.
Shockingly, the peasant rabble noticed, and now our royalty has decided that they didn’t need eight jets after all. Of course, they’re blaming the Pentagon for the mess but the fact is that they saw how the public viewed the luxurious purchase (especially after their very public and much publicized chastizing of the Big Three auto executives for the use of private jets) and backed off.
Pelosi reminds me of a Flashman-like bully who just got thrashed and is slinking away, shoulders hunched, fear and hatred in his eyes, casting backwards baleful glares at the assembled crowd who just witnessed his commupance and muttering to himself, you’ll get yours.
I really don’t want Pelosi to stop with her psuedo-royalty arrogance. The more she shows her true colors the more she ensures that the peasant rabble will indeed, one day, get theirs. Probably at the ballot box in 2010.
Keep it up, Queenie. The mob is watching.
