Private Messaging Now Enabled

For those of you who are registered users, you can now send other registered users private messages.  You can either do this from your profile (link only works if you are logged in) or from the links displayed next to the comments of logged-in users.

A lot of times you SAB readers want to communicate with one another privately, so you send me emails asking me to pass them on (since I never give out the email address of SAB users unless asked to by that user).  This way I’m out of the loop and you all can communicate directly as you please.  Of course, if you don’t want to get private messages from a specific user, you can always block him/her from your profile.

When you get a private message you will be alerted via email (you can turn these notifications off if you want in your profile) and a message indicating your private messages will display on the sidebar when you’re logged in.

Feel free to try the system out, and post any problems you run into below.

Excellent idea!

As talk radio comes under attack by elitists who sincerely believe we, the people, are a herd of cats to be voted in by but, not heard we strengthen our ability to instantly inform and coordinate our effort...The Ultimate Authority is back in control of our own country and they better damn well get used to it! No, disregard that last...Those that have complained, even in whispers, MUST be sent packing.

Wait, does this mean you’ll listen to a Mick from Staten Island who DOES NOT believe Rudy is the NewBorn Christ?  grin

I think this is a very interesting idea… hopefully it will keep the comments section on some posts from getting so cluttered.

Completely unrelated: is the “now playing” section broken, or have you just really been enjoying the Walk the Line soundtrack lately?

Hell yeah.  Now I wish this was a Liberal Blog because now with private messages, we need a lot more hot ass bitches than the old Conservative men that hang around this place.  Plus Liberal chicks love the cock.  I was gonna try to hook up with that Amanda Marcotte from the John Edwards Campaign:

One thing I vow here and now–you motherfuckers who want to ban birth control will never sleep. I will fuck without making children day in and out and you will know it and you won’t be able to stop it. Toss and turn, you mean, jealous motherfuckers. I’m not going to be “punished” with babies. Which makes all your efforts a failure. Some non-procreating women escaped. So give up now. You’ll never catch all of us. Give up now.

Rob, please alert me if there are any Liberal chicks on the blog to private message with that want to show all them Godbags by f*ing without making babies.  Why is it that Conservative Women always bring those “morals” to the table?

lol.. but then some unrelated clutter is for everyone and not just a pm. Besides… seriously, how can a blog ever be cluttered when blogs are for communicating informative information to others?
[plus sometimes public msgs are the only way we can get the blogmeisters attention] wink

She has a bit of a potty mouth, but when she starts explaining how important it is to have educated women college graduates that have a deep understanding of “Women’s Studies” or “Psychology” so that they can eloquently explain their coherent points about the role of women’s sexual desires as influenced by the patriarchal American caste society, my parents will appreciate her intellect.

Or perhaps they will realize that loose women that “f* without making babies” are exactly what MANPIGS from the 1960’s and 1970’s that Women’s Libbers fought against would have liked all along.  MANPIGS are looking for girls like this that are liberated with their bodies.  Oh, the irony.  Women’s Lib makes it OK for them to be promiscuous and to sleep with me (or women) for pleasure or simply to get ahead in life.

I bet she is almost Liberal enough that she would be offended if we didn’t go dutch on a meal.  She pays her own way and has one night stands without remorse.  Find me a Conservative Girl with those credentials.  You ain’t gonna meet a girl like that in church.  I guess I am either gonna meet on online at DU or Daily Kos or I am gonna have to start trolling the Liberal Arts coffee shop in the Student Union or the Hooka lounge just off campus.

It’s not “broken” so much as I got a new computer and haven’t added the necessary software to iTunes yet so that it will switch the album as I listen.

No, curse words aren’t censored in the PM’s.  And they aren’t in the comments either any more, not sure if you caught that.

Remember, though, that people can block getting messages from any given individual or block getting messages at all if they choose.

I think this will be a nice tool for folks to use to make SA more of a community.
