President Bush Gave The Middle Class A Tax Cut

One campaign mantra repeated often and furiously by Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats was one having to do with Bush and Republicans giving tax cuts to rich CEO’s instead of Americans middle class.
Unfortunately, like most Democrat talking points, this one turns out to be more bluster than truth:

A good time was not had by all.

Something that is true all throughout history.

    Any more nuggets of wisdom?

WOOF – The middle class paid a smaller percentage of federal taxes cause they made a smaller share of the income under B.

Just one problem with that way of thinking: it is not a “share”.

But the mutt is promising to send out checks to people who don’t pay taxes. It’s the “fair” thing to do for slackers.

The red team has had the ball for 8 years,
    largely unopposed.

    That’s a lie and an oft-repeated one.

McCain and Fellow RINO’s have given Dems stealth control of Congress. By calling themselves Republicans while voting with Democrats, they defeated the Conservative agenda and in so doing they aided and abetted this lie.

Why do you suppose I despise McCain so much? He sailed under a false flag. At least Jeffords openly betrayed his constituents confidence.

McCain and his kind deceptively called their actions ‘being moderate’ or being a ‘maverick.’

    Good riddance to them.

Let us use this period to clean house and get back to Conservative basics.

Oh good, so now the same people that were cooking the books and gaming the system will be running the country. What ya gonna do next election cycle when there’s no Republican boogeyman to blame it on?

    Lose seats.

Too bad spending didn’t. That’s more financially irresponsible than it might seem at first glance. We haven’t paid for the last 8 years yet, at all. One cannot even pretend to gauge Bush’s term. It was like a weekend with daddy’s credit card, except it was 8 years, and we’ll all pay for it.

Yeah like the dems ever cared about spending and deficits.
Anyways Its not my responsibility and I am going to go with the virtue of selfishness here.

Taxes will go up to those who work. Those who already pay taxes. Supposedly given to those who refuse to work. What will happen when those who work decide to work less or not work at all?

    Waiting for answers?

The Lefty controlled Senate will be “more fair” about our tax rates…. right?
    ;-)

Per cent, piece of the pie,
call it what you will Lik.

A good time was not had by all.

Even the piece of the pie idea is loaded with falacies. You assume that the American income is to be divided in some sort of pre-defined, and “fair” methodology. Bottom line, my taxes will probably go up, and so will most of everyone elses.

Americans make their own pies, and the government gets a small slice of our pies, not the other way around. If it was the other way around, the government would be driving all profits and money made in the country, and would give us the crumbs, as in a centrally “planned” economy.

This is gonna be a crappy 4 years to come. Thanks lefties. You really dropped the ball on this one.

Although I am looking forward to watching Obama bumble around like Jimmy Carter. Too bad he takes himself way more seriously then Jimmy…. he might smite those who dare cackle at his expense.

My paycheck increased $150 a month under President Bush. I guess I’m one of the wealthiest Americans.

Truth doesn’t matter to these people, though. People who make a good living obviously took money from other people who deserve it more, so they should give it up.

Everyone who voted for Obama should be more than willing to open their wallets up if someone asks and spread the wealth around. Given their record for charitable giving, I’m guessing they’ll be a bit stingy.

Rob, I can think of a few of your Reader Bloggers who should be more than willing to fork some money over to you.

Correction: The perception of the economy, and who precipitated the collapse over the last several months, is part of what cost Republicans the election.

Perception, unfortunately, is not always reality. And a larger issue is that people were just plain fed up with Republicans saying one thing and doing another.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

The red team has had the ball for 8 years,

Takes 60 votes to get anything through the Senate, genius.

But I think you’re confusing Republican leadership during some of those eight years with conservative leadership. The two are not necessarily the same thing.

Gold Nugget , the economy is what cost Republicans the election.

Those under the impression that things were

    The economy is fundamentally sound

people were just plain fed up with Republicans

    That’s fact.

The middle class paid a smaller percentage of federal taxes cause they made a smaller share of the income under B. Middle class income stagnant for 8 years. Not so wonderful.

76% of the country dislike the job Bush has done.
