President Bush Assumes Al Sharpton’s Daughter Is His Wife

Here’s the President greeting guests at an African American History Month event at the White House:

THE PRESIDENT: ...Reverend Al Sharpton, and his wife Dominique—Reverend, it’s good to see you.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Daughter.

THE PRESIDENT: Daughter. (Laughter.) Daughter. (Laughter.) I don’t get them right all the time. (Laughter.) But thank you for coming. And, Dominique, you’re sure a lot prettier than your father. (Laughter.)

Whoops.

I hate that when that happens!

And it’s posted on the White House website?  That would’ve been buried a mile- and several years-deep during the Clinton years.  GW may be close to a leftard, but the man has a sterling sense of humor and honesty.

It would have never happened in the Clinton years, because Clinton was not so disengaged as to not prepare for this type of shit.

With the likes of Larry King and Geraldo Rivera making the headlines, who can keep track of marital trends these days?

Have you seen her? Looks like his wife.

George W. is consistent.

Yes he is. He is introduced to a man and woman of apparently the same age group, with the same last name, and he expects them to be husband and wife. Silly, isn’t it?

He is introduced to a man and woman

If you check the link Rob gives, it’s pretty apparent to me, that W is addressing the group with some prepared remarks that included a list of attendees.
And as you said, seeing a man and a woman with the same last name, it is more likely for a man to attend a White House function with his wife than his daughter. The odds were in his favor!

A troll is someone who only wants to stir up trouble, not have an honest debate.  Some signs that a poster is a troll:
* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources
* When one of its arguments is shown to be false, either ignores the proof or moves the goalposts.  Heh. (From the LGF faq)

Is that the Monica Lewinsky guy?

Oh yeah - he was on top of everything.

Is that the Monica Lewinsky guy?

Lik,

Sorta like Bush is too busy working to play… and Clinton was too busy playing to work?
