Helen is saying that the election of a black President shows how far we have come as a Nation, and is grateful to have seen us come this far. You can’t communicate that same sentiment when talking about a white president.

It’s no different than talking about the first woman President.

Conservatives are too busy fighting against Obama’s anti-American ideology and his destructive policies, domestic and foreign, to worry with something as trivial as the color of his skin. It is liberals who are always bringing skin color into the discussion.

Its a mental disorder, closely related to encephalitis, only it is hereditary AND an airborne contagion.

Sadly, if either of the two major political parties can, by their history be called racist, it is the Democrat Party. For decades they told people of color that they were not as good as white people, they needed special help from the government to succeed, the majority of them needed a welfare state to “care” for these inferior human beings, just like the old slave owners looked upon these people as needing care by their betters. Whenever race is raised as an issue in the nation, it is virtually always raised by the democrats, mostly against anyone that disagrees with their welfare state policies or dares oppose them and sometimes to praise a politician for doing good even though they were inferior people.

He was elected on ideas? What ideas?

“Hope?” “Change?”

Those aren’t ideas. Those are platitudes.

And most of the promises he did make (prosecuting the war in Afghanistan, posting bills online for public scrutiny, debating the health care bill on CSPAN, going through bills line-by-line to eliminate deficit spending, etc.) he’s broken.

Obama was elected because he’s a celebrity whose good at appearing Presidential that ran against an uninspiring opponent.

And seeing it as a milestone just to elect someone so we can have a first of anything is the lack of intelligence of yours that we are least thankful for.
