Poll: 51% Of Independents “Strongly Disapprove” Of Obama

There are a lot of bad things in this poll for Obama. He’s at his lowest overall approval level to date. His approval index is at -15, down 35 points since January. But perhaps the ugliest part of the whole poll is the number of independents who have turned on The One:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 27% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15. This is the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for President Obama. …
Fifty-two percent (52%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 68% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major political party, just 16% Strongly Approve and 51% Strongly Disapprove…

The more people learn about Obama the less they like him.
If only they’d had learned more about him before the election.

Wow, 49% of independents don’t strongly disprove of President Obama. Not bad considering the unprecedented campaigning against him from the right, and the economic catastrophe of 2008, and the runaway train of recovery spending handed to him by Bush/Cheney.

Bob should stay away from numbers, unless it’s his birthday or something like that.

A nice cup of schadenfreude for the holidays!

You did a much better job of reading and comprehending than Rob.

Now try this. What percent of “Independents” are really Republicans that aren’t willing to admit their affiliation because they don’t want to accept blame, like most of those pussies that post here.

Your not an independent if you vote republican 90% of the time. Your not an independent if you support the GOP’s litmus test.

“IMPEACH & DEPORT” We’re not talking about Governor Sanford.

I wonder why we’re not talking about him? Hmm

    IMPEACH & DEPORT

Africa needs colonial type leaders who are skilled in corruption and incompetence. Obama is experienced in both.

Sorry, the majority of Independents never approved of Barri, or McC. Try again.

I only hope liberal North Dakotans along with the rest of this country of socialist lemmings wake up to the realization of global warming being a fraud, cap and trade being nothing but an energy tax and way to get even more of your money, the new war tax being talked about, their private insurance healthcare premiums going up anywhere from 20% to 50%, taxes on soft drinks possibly, panels deciding how people should live….the next time they hit the election booth. We are soon to be at the point of no return in debt.

Today’s RCP average has Obamao at 49.7% approval. Hmmm, seems a downward trend is developing.

And the Generic Congressional vote average is 44.8 – 44.4 Dem/Rep, well within margins of statistical error. Wonder what’s causing that?

    “don’t strongly disprove ”

Way to stretch for that point.

  • sayanything-2361

Rasmussen traditionally does a good job of estimating the presidential election percentages, ie better than the others because they specifically choose likely voters and weight their pool appropriately.

Your litmus test for republican says 90% but doesn’t specify what happens in cases where I am too disgusted by both candidates to vote for either one so I don’t know if I qualify as ‘independent.’ I really need to know to help clarify my place the in the political ecosystem.

The blame-Bush game got Obama elected; is that the card that is going to get pulled now for him being exactly what his critics, including Hillary, said about him in the elections: namely that he is unqualified and lacks real leadership ability.

Left seems to forget, Obama RAN on blaming Bush while touting his ability to fix the mess: as a package. So spare me the “I can’t solve this mess because it was so bad when it was handed to me” garbage. According to our Learner-in-Chief, he was the man to take care of our problems and the situation handed to him should have been factored into his “solutions”; if he did, then he sucks worse at being a leader than just being naive

He’s in over his head. He has not accomplished anything. His plans are long on thinking and short on results. Take your obligatory shot at Bush for not thinking; does’t change the nose dive we went into once Rookie took over.

Nice try, but only 33% of the independents approve of Obama at all, and just 16% strongly approve.

    But they HATE republicans.

Gloom Spreads on Economy, but GOP Doesn’t Gain

In fact, disapproval of the Republican Party actually has ticked upward, along with the public’s general pessimism. Asked which political party should control Congress after next year’s midterm elections, Democrats now hold a clear edge over the GOP, 46% to 38%, a month after the Republicans were nearly as popular. In September, the Democratic edge was 43% to 40%.

“There was a bounce-back surge for Republicans, and that’s stalled,” said Bill McInturff, a Republican pollster who conducted the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll with Democratic pollster Peter Hart.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! THEY HATE YOU EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE!
