Poll: Should Puerto Rico Become A State?

New York Hosts Annual Puerto Rico Day Parade

Last night the House of Representatives voted on a bill that would put the question to a vote of Puerto Ricans, and the decision seems to have split Democrats and Republicans alike. The vote is here, and North Dakota’s own Earl Pomeroy voted for the bill.

I’m not sure what to make of an issue. I’d, frankly, welcome the Puerto Ricans to our union if they vote that way, and I’m not sure why anyone would think such a vote would be a bad thing. What’s your opinion?
