Politicians Aren’t What Made This Country Great

The headline comes from an interview of a western North Dakota resident in this video produced by the Heritage Foundation and the Institute for Energy Research about the state’s oil boom:
We hear a lot about the negative aspects of the oil boom, but this video highlights a more pertinent reality. Where once western North Dakota was a place people left, it’s now a place people are beating a path too.
North Dakota’s politicians like to take a lot of credit for the oil boom – and they do deserve some credit in so far as they’ve regulated lightly – but the credit goes to the private sector interests who are doing all the production and development in the west.
