C-SPAN televised an annual symposium dedicated to Reagan. (Regent University - Feb 08) One of the speakers mentioned the award from last July, so I checked it out online. Apparently, the mainstream media must not have thought it was that big a deal!

A troll is someone who only wants to stir up trouble, not have an honest debate.  Some signs that a poster is a troll:
* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources
* When one of its arguments is shown to be false, either ignores the proof or moves the goalposts.  Heh. (From the LGF faq)

At the symposium, Paul Kengor, one of the speakers, related a story where one of his students was attending a teacher’s conference in Arizona to discuss the end of the Cold War. A conservative, and perhaps the youngest person there, she was appalled at the way Reagan was being treated. Having already cited in his speech the words of Ted Kennedy and Mikhail Gorbachev giving credit to Reagan for bringing the Cold War to an end, Kengor related that he comforted his student in assuring her that all of the other teachers with her were to the Left of Ted Kennedy and Mikhail Gorbachev!

Excellent.  Remember the pope’s reply to the Soviet’s comment, “how many divisions does he have”.  I don’t but liberals made it clear that they are on the side of the communists.  Why?  I am not sure.  Perhaps it is, “go along to get along” or as some writers have finally printed, they are communists in disguise and will sell our country for fifty pieces of silver.

Considering that the Poles have been with us side-by-side in Iraq since nearly the beginning there, such a development as you suggest, an Order of the White Eagle for Pres. Bush, isn’t utterly out of the question.

But perhaps someday a free Iraqi government will make the equivalent sort of gesture instead.
