As you’ve probably noticed by now here on the blog, or via the national media attention, my hometown of Minot, ND is facing a flooding disaster. In 1969 the city was devastated by a 40 day flood. We’re not being told that the flood waters we’re facing in the coming days will be double that, and there’s nothing we can do at this point to stop it. The water is already over the dikes.

Here are some pictures I’ve been collecting of the tragedy from social media and local readers:

I’m fine, to be clear, but a lot of my friends and family are in trouble. They’re waiting, and watching the news, and knowing that their homes are being destroyed.

If you could, please click here to donate a little money to the Minot chapter of the Red Cross. Or, if you prefer, click here and give to the Salvation Army.
