Plastic Cup Snake At Live Earth London

Wow…

Here’s a question: What’s more embarrassing to Al Gore and the global warming faithful behind Live Earth, the fact that the concert was apparently so boring that people took to building things out of trash or the fact that there was enough non-biodegradable plastic detritus on hand to build gigantic animals?

Also, how many carbon offsets do you think that snake is worth?

Al Gore has neither the social grace to be embarrassed, nor the intelligence to realize he should be.

The “live earth” Aussies weren’t happy.

Fifty bucks for a beer? It was Livid Earth in Sydney

It was “unAustralian”, one spectator protested. “This is what happens when you let hippies organise a big event,” another said. One woman, asked by Missy Higgins “how you all are back there”, earned a wry round of applause from the stands when she shouted: “Sober.”

What really is the story is how all these liberals probably flew to the concert in their private jets or their gas guzzling suv’s.

Bat One: According to liberal dogma, the ends always justify the means. Thus, he is honestly unable to recognize any hypocrisy in his political positions versus his actions or the words and actions of those around him. The same thing applies about Tipper condemning some of the performers a few years ago and then supporting those performers when they help Al work to fight human caused global warming.

People here have gotten angry at me for saying this, but Gore is sincerely, honestly incapable of seeing any problems with the science behind human caused global warming or with the people at a concert making a plastic snake. It just does not compute in his mind! He really thinks he invented the internet and does not understand those that joke about that, to his mind, fact.

In keeping silent about evil, in burying it deep within us, so that it appears nowhere on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousandfold in the future.

And is it just me, or is that crowd awfully thin? Has anybody seen any pics or video from other concerts?

From the sound of the music the plastic cup snake was the best part of the entertainment.

I have been trawling news services and finding very few good clear crowd shots. The stuff from DC is solely focused on the stage, with tight shots of people in what appears to be the front right of the stage.

Some shots from Sydney, all of pissed off people. Only Hamburg pics I have found were at Hotair, of Snoop Dog and Igleasis.

Some of the acts sounded like they’d be ok.  I wouldn’t have minded seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers, for instance.  But from what I hear things were horribly expensive there, even by concert standards.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

I saw some footage of LA (I think) and it was about three-quarters full.

Let’s not forget that they got a Brazillion Euro’s worth of free publicity.  I think that’s what it was about anyway.

I think we all need to be a bit less enthusiastic in our criticisms of Mr. Al Gore.  After all, the odds are probably no worse than 50-50 that he will be the Dems’ nominee next summer.  No point in using up all our ammunition so early, and from such a distance.

Besides, Gore’s not smart enough to know the difference anyway.
