Nuts On Parade: A Picture Tour Of Today’s Big Anti-War Protest.

Earlier today I wrote a post about the folks behind this weekend’s anti-war protests.  I pointed out that despite most of the organizers being avowed socialists and apologists for terrorists who live on the political fringe in this country the media would be portraying the protests as large gatherings of ordinary Americans voicing their opinions about the war.

Since seeing is believing, I thought I’d share with you some highlights from the United for Peace and Justice photo gallery of the protest.

First off we have an image of sanity in some dude dressed up as Death thanking the President for all the over time.

image

Of course, in reality fewer Iraqis are dying now in the violence in Iraq than were dying because of torture, murder, genocide and simple starvation under Saddam Hussein.  So in order for this guy to be accurate he’d have to portray Death as picketing the President with a sign blasting him for the loss in hours.

But whatever.  Next up, Satan, er, Mr. President:

image

That button reads “Is It Fascism Yet?” No, I don’t know what it means either.

Code Pink was in attendance too, and their contribution were these shoes that represent children killed during the U.S. occupation:

image

By displaying these shoes and then calling for the end of the U.S. occupation of Iraq the implication from the group is that America is responsible for the deaths of these children.  Which ignores the fact that a) more kids were dying under Saddam than under the U.S. occupation and b) these kids probably all died because of terrorist/insurgency attacks on U.S. or Iraqi government targets.  If the terrorists and insurgents would lay down their arms and quit fighting these kids wouldn’t die. After all, if we Americans give up the fight the violence in Iraq would continue, and even get worse, as the terrorists fought to topple the democratically-elected Iraqi government.  If the terrorists gave up the fight in Iraq we’d have peace in that country.  So why doesn’t Code Pink call on the terrorists to give up the war rather than the Americans?

Any liberals out there got the answer for that one?  I’m guessing no.  Which just proves how all this left-wing wailing over Iraqi deaths is a means to an end.  Code Pink doesn’t care about Iraqi deaths.  Once the U.S. is out of Iraq all these liberals will shut up about the deaths, even after those deaths likely increase due to the power struggle to fill the vacuum left by the departure of our military.

Moving along, here’s some chick named Noura Erakat from the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, which is a group all about getting the Israelis to quit defending themselves so that the Palestinians can exercise their “equal rights” in driving the Jews into the sea.  What’s that got to do with Iraq?  Who knows.  But what’s an anti-war protest without some harpy screeching for the Jews to get off Allah’s land?

image

And speaking of what completes an anti-war protest, how about some clearly well-fed moonbats in ill-fitting Guantanamo Bay outfits?

image

And some weirdo with a George Bush mask playing with an inflatable ball?

image

Here’s another sign that’s interesting in the way the Code Pink shoes were interesting:

image

Again, given the message of the sign and the fact that it’s directed at America’s political leaders the clear implication here is that American troops are killing Iraqis.  But who is really killing Iraqis?  The American forces who are protecting the government the Iraqis themselves formed or the terrorist forces who are fighting to drive America out and topple that government?  If the terrorists weren’t attacking Iraqis wouldn’t be dying, so why is this guy’s message directed at the U.S. government?

Anyway, enough with in-depth analysis of shallow anti-war slogans.  Let’s just admire the classiness on display here:

image

Another person you won’t see interviewed on CNN.  Hope that was worth the trip pal.

Here’s another “9-11 was an inside job” nut, backed up by a “impeach Bush for war crimes” nut:

image

And here’s a liberal nut with a conspiracy theory I’d not heard of before:

image

Three nuclear wars?  We nuked our own troops?  I’m not even sure I want to know what this broad is smoking.

More 9-11 truth nuts:

image

It really is scary how many “9-11 was an inside job” whack jobs are out there.  That they’re able to walk around large public gatherings like this one and proclaim that 9/11 was an act of our own government without getting pelted by rotten vegetables is a testament to the sanity of most of the anti-war movement.

This guy feels the need to make terrible-looking ponchos out of perfectly good flags.  Oh, and apologize to the Iraqis for removing the dictator that was oppressing them and defending the government they voted into place:

image

The celebrity nuts were in attendance too.  Here’s the nuttiest guy in the House of Representatives, Dennis Kucinich…

image

...professional victim pimp Jesse Jackson…

image

...iconoclastic Hollywood liberals Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn (with Sarandon apparently getting a nice welcome from some of the “9/11 was an inside job, Bush is a murdering terrorist” folks):

image

image

image

...and, um, this guy

image

...who is apparently famous among anti-war circles for setting a car on fire and burning himself after he learned that his son died in Iraq.  And not just any car either, but the car of the Marines who came to tell him his son died according to the caption for his photo:

Carlos Arredondo is an anti-war activist who lost his son in Iraq. In 2004, on his 44th birthday, representatives from the Marines notified him of his son’s death. In his grief he tried to set their car on fire and accidentily burned himself over a quarter of his body.

Clearly a stable, level-headed guy.  The sort of person we should all be listening to when it comes to foreign policy.  Yeah, I know.  His kid died in Iraq, and that’s awful.  But still, crazy is crazy.

In December of last year Carlos became a citizen of this country, according to his Wikipedia entry, with an assist to Ted Kennedy.  Thanks for that, Teddy.

That’s pretty much the best of the photos the United for Peace and Justice folks have uploaded so far.  You can see them all for yourself right here.

I should point out that I don’t believe all people who oppose the war in Iraq are crazy, terror apologists or socialists.  I think there are some valid reasons for having opposed the original invasion of Iraq, though none for pulling out of the country before our job there is complete.  I also think there are many extremely valid criticisms to be made of the way the President has handled this war.  My point in this post, and my previous post on this protest, is to point out that most of the folks that attended this event aren’t making those valid criticisms.  They have no valid reasons for opposing the war in Iraq.  They are motivated by hatred of our current President, and a knee-jerk ideological response to any use of America’s military might in the world.

These are not level-headed Americans making a stand, they are cretins and zealots inhabiting the political fringes and the fact that they get so much adoring attention from the media with little or no focus on their obvious faults and nuttiness is appalling.

how come opium production increased after liberation?
where was the iraqi army when the coalition invaded?
how come the oil ministry building was not destroyed in the initial bombing?
how come nick berg didnt move prior to being beheaded?
how come there was no blood (forensic police say that even when someone is dead they still bleed)?
how come he was released by the resistance a month before being beheaded?
how come an election wasnt held which included the baath party to see if the people wanted them to lead the country?
is that not what it was about to have fair elections?
why were unions outlawed?
why does the US government ignore international conventions on war?
why were prisoners taken to countries like egypt and uzbekistan?
why did your president say “the hardest part of my presidency was to link iraq with the war on terror”?

Rob
Goon had a pretty good post about how the anti-war (anti-America) protesters were handled in Oakland, Calif. I think he’s on to something. [Read it]

Powerline has an excellent post, with comment from an eye witness, on the pieceactivist parade. This one had lower attendance than the last 3. The pro-life rally had the Mall packed from the WWII Memorial to Union Square. And not one single sign or banner with the words fuck or shit on them to be seen.

The first comment in this thread clearly indicates the mental capacity, or lack thereof, of leftards.

Wonder how many of that crazed bunch are ‘patriotic terrorists?  Propably most as they continue to give hope to our terrorists enemies that our nation will abandon Iraq to them.

There are a bunch of neo-Luddites in the modern liberal movement. In her ignorance, she may be confusing the use of depleted uranium (armor piercing) shells with nuclear ordinance.

Still, nothing except the urge to blame America first is stopping her from getting her facts straight before she publicly embarrasses herself.

This is nothing more than the baby boomers yearning to relive their Sixties Hippie, anti-war, civil rights and anti-America movement. They are trying to hold on to a youth long gone and never to return.

Jane Fonda should have been tried and shot, she was and is a damnable traitor to the United States. If we had prosecuted and executed Hanoi Jane we might not have people like John Francois Kerry uttering traitorous, anti-American filth in Europe today.

Believe me, this is not an honest anti-war protest; these are anal retentive liberals who hate Bush, that is the first and most important reason for protesting the war THEY HATE BUSH! Next, they are socialists, wanting to create a socialist utopia in America and because of that they absolutely hate Christians, Conservatives, Republicans, Capitalists, Libertarians, in short they hate anyone and anything that stands in the way of their fellow travelers returning to power in the nation’s capital.

Sadly, conservatives are not generally emotional people, they tend to be more pragmatic and reserved and so we won’t mount a counter protest in D.C. and show our military that we support them and want them to achieve victory. No, just like near the end of Vietnam we will quietly allow the Leftists to force Bush or his successor to ‘cut-and-run’ from Iraq, once again seeing our military crawl home like cur dogs in defeat, not because we are not winning and cannot achieve a clear victory in establishing Iraq as a democratic state in the Middle East, able to defend themselves and live prosperous lives. Our brave dead will have died in vain, our wounded veterans will come home to be neglected and hated, and America will at last fall as the world’s only super power and the greatest nation on earth. That is what these liberals dogs are working for and the MSM will applaud them.

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

Neiman.  You hit the nail on the head.  Conservatives are not generally emotional people.  That translates into; They are generally adults.

I’m with you, glad to see you here.  Who is that in your aviatar?

gavin.  Let me try just one of your questions:  Why are unions outlawed?
Where are you talking about?  In Iraq?  In the USA?

Chief RZ; That young baby faced Jarhead in my avatar is yours truly about 100 years ago. It is hard to believe that kid barely old enough to wear long pants fought in Nam and was allowed to carry a weapon other than a slingshot or a BB gun.

My family, on both sides have served in the military and in every American war since the American Revolution. I always joke that we fought in so many wars because we cannot get along with anyone.

My father commanded a ship in the Pacific until it was sunk by the Japanese, my mother and oldest sister served in top secret communication during that war one at Hunters Point and the other at the Presidio in San Francisco. My eldest, late brother served in the frozen Chosin during a police action againt North Korea, my middle brother 2.5 tours in Nam until he came home broken in body and emotionally; though he’s done well in life since then. My grandson is a Marine in Iraq and my Nephew a Marine getting ready to go back.

I said all that because I just watched a WW-II movie called “Since you went away,” about the home front during WW-II and am feeling extra patriotic today.

Neiman.  Thanks, GI, and my avitar is me in Iraq, 2004 after waiting many years to get into the fight.  We Air National Guard guys had to fight to get to the fight!  My dad was WW II Army National Guard then Army Air Corps--European Theatre.

You have seen Eastwood’s Flags of our fathers, haven’t you?  Touched on the attrocities of the JAPS.

Chief,

Gavin doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about.  All he knows is what he believes.  Reason and logic are irrelevant.  He believes these things, therefore they must be true.  His EGO will tolerate no other possibilities.

Gavin sees what he believes.  For him to do otherwise means questioning his belief system.  He believes the US is an ‘Evil Empire’, and that is what he sees.

No-one can reason with that kind of pathological blind belief.  All you can do is point it out to others.

chief, neiman, 2H and others that have given of themselvss for our country.  In my book, you all are the heros that keep this country free.  I salute you…

Chief: First, my father-in-law served with Patton in Europe, he won a battlefield commission and is now 90 years old. He is in the history books of that theater, he was the first U.S. Officer into Dachau! My father and mother are long gone and in a way I am glad, because my father-in-law was a giant of a man, a real life John Wayne and living so long he now falls a lot, his mind wanders and he is ready for death.

No, I don’t go to movies very often, but I plan on seeing Eastwood’s film; he usually produces quite patriotic war/military movies.

I wrote to Rumsfeld, tried to get a waiver even so I could serve in Iraq or Afghanistan though I am in my early 60’s; but he never replied. I would have been glad to go and even dig latrines if it helped other soldiers do their job.

Chief: I forgot to mention, even though I am not proud of the fact because he’s a damn liberal, look at the picture above of Sean Penn in profile, even my wife and grandson thought it was picture of me today.

Gavin,

I have seen the Nick Berg video...there is lots of blood.  I have no idea where you got you information, but it is wrong.

Hey Gavin...Check it out for yourself.

Gavin, you need to ask youself why your sources are lying to you.  Of course I am expecting the usual nihilistic answer.  Why?  Because you can’t handle the truth.

I think everything in this email is outstanding!
However I have a few questions?
Why are all these people out in the streets when they should be at work?
Why do all these people have the right to say and do as they please?
I know the answer to that one, Because this is AMERICA!
I think the answer to the first question may be most of the people out there protesting, when they should be working, are on welfare,or some other Government aide.
Why are people from over seas, even allowed to speak at these protest,s ?
I know, because this is AMERICA.
Why dont a lot of these people with out jobs, go over sea,s and see if they can help others in a war torn Country?
I know, because they are in AMERICA,and dont know when they have it so good!
If the people protesting the war think that AMERICA is wrong, wait to see what happens come 2008, if a democrat is elected!
Watch your ass because, it is better to kill the enemy on their land, and not ours.

MOST NEW YORKERS, KNOW! 911. WE DIDNT START IT,BUT WE SURE AS HELL WILL FINISH IT.

So for all you people that turned out for the protest, thank you for just re confirming in my mind, that you have no clue as to what is going on.

When the Iraq,s come over and start blowing up bombs in your home town, go give one a hug, you deserve to be on your way with one to the path of 77 virgins.
GIVE ME A BREAK!

Then why do they continue reelect Schumer and Clinton?  Same can be said for Mass.
