PETA Ad To Make Fun of Clay Aiken

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has delayed a new ad campaign with the slogan "Get Neutered, It Didn't Hurt Clay Aiken," while it waits to see if Aiken will apologize for negative comments he made about cats, PETA officials said Tuesday.

"If Clay Aiken intends on staying famous, he has to learn to take a joke," said Dan Mathews, vice president of the Norfolk, Va.-based animal rights group.

The ad features the crass puppet Triumph the Insult Comic dog from "Late Night" with Conan O'Brien urging pet owners to spay or neuter their animals. The barb came from Triumph, but PETA allowed the ad because of an interview Aiken gave to Rolling Stone Magazine in June where he said he didn't like cats.

"There's nothing worse to me than a house cat. When I was about sixteen, I had a kitten and ran over it. Seeing that cat die, I actually think that its spirit has haunted me. I wasn't afraid of cats before. But now they scare me to death," Aiken told Rolling Stone.


Clay Aiken needs to learn how to take a joke? And PETA is the group telling him this? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

All Aiken did was insinuate that he did not like cats, is that so bad? Is that really enough to warrant claiming that he has no genetalia?

The people over at PETA get crazier each and every day.

Sure would be nice to see SOMEONE put the entire interview so that everyone can see what it says..

But you left out an important part (IMO)—where Aiken states that ‘Cats are Satan’.  Seems like his fear goes a little deeper than is being let on.  If you ran over Satan—would that be an accident???

oh please he isn’t saying that he “ran over satan” ..he was SIXTEEN, meaning he was LEARNING to drive. The ad is completly inappropriate

I love Clay, but I love cats more. Every single day of my life I have had cats. At the moment I have 1 indoor and 6 outdoor kitties. When I watched the second season of American Idol I fell in love with Clay. He’s my favorite music artist (has been since the show ended) but when I read his comments I became PO’ed. I think he’s stated it was an accident now but I’m still mad that he doesn’t like cats. Everyone has their own opinions though I guess....darn, I knew he couldn’t be perfect lol.

OMG!
Who likes cats more than Clay? Like common, really! Clay is the sex god of the 21st century, he is gonna be the next BIG THING! (In other words, he’s gonna be huge, even bigger than he is now!) The PETA shud F*** Off and leave Clay alone, so what if he hates cats, that doesn’t mean that he’ll encourage his fans, such as myself, to hate them too. I don’t hate cats, actually I love them, but no where near as much as I love Clay!!! If the PETA has to sink so low as to try to convince people of over the top lies to get their company’s name out there than i’m sorry but thats a pathetic attempt of making themselves feel confident. And as for Triumph, I’m sure he’s just jealous of Clay cuz he had to get Nutered as a young pup, so Triumph, keep ur sad and pitiful childhood memories to urself and leave Clay alone!!!!!

If he did say cats are satan it just goes to show he has a deep rooted fear  of cats. It would also suggest that he is christian, only christians are afraid of satan as far as I know.
Though I ask cause I am curious if  cats have no soul how can they be evil?
 (its my understanding that christians in general believe homo sapiens are the only animals to have souls)

 

Oh one quick side note anyone that defends someone solely because of how "hot" they are is very shallow and has a very sad life.

I’m not sure about Clay thinking cats are satan is actually true. He’s not the type of guy who would say that. He may feel deep guilt from when he accidently ran over his kitten so it’s probably just guilt. He loves dogs and other animals so I didn’t expect him to say that. As for me, I’ve never really had a cat. She died when I was like 3 years old and I remembered her biting and scrathing me all of the time. I love Clay though. I love him because he is a caring young man who knows why he is here on Earth. He wants to make a difference somehow and makes a great influence on kids these days. He also has great talent and can cheer up anyone is they really listen.
