Pelosi: We Must Pass The Health Care Bill So That We Can Find Out What’s In It

Share |

No, I’m not making this up. From Pelosi’s speech today to the 2010 Legislative Conference for National Association of Counties.

“You’ve heard about the controversies within the bill, the process about the bill, one or the other. But I don’t know if you have heard that it is legislation for the future, not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America, where preventive care is not something that you have to pay a deductible for or out of pocket. Prevention, prevention, prevention—it’s about diet, not diabetes. It’s going to be very, very exciting.
“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’d like to know what’s in the bill before we pass it.

    “it’s about diet, not diabetes”

I have never read a more offensive line around this health care debate than this. Nobody is dying or being treated for Type II diabetes that DOES NOT understand that they have to change their diet to reduce their health care costs and increase their health. I know this because I’m pre-diabetic and if I DO NOT change my diet I could be diabetic… AND IF I DO I CAN BECOME NON-DIABETIC by controlling my diet. EVERY type II diabetic knows this, but doesn’t control their diet to reduce their health care costs to the rest of us.

Now, my daughter is a type I diabetic…there is no prevention for I diabetes, though I thank God everyday for the Type II people with their poor diet habits and refusal to change their habits for the development of things like “one touch” technology.

What’s Nancy gonna do? Refuse treatment for Type II people that don’t change their diet? Uh, that would eliminate anywhere from 5-10% of the African-American population.

Nancy Pelosi – the modern day Margaret Sanger (note I avioided the Hitler reference)

Actually, Marxine Waters wins the stupidest member in Congress award. But, Nazi Pelousy is a close second.

Thanks Rob. After a long and extremely frustrating day in the office, I go to your site to see this post. And it has about sent me over the deep end. This is the most colossally stupid thing that I have heard. How could our congressional system and its tried and true processes of bill review and deliberation have become so corrupt?

I was so upset that I picked up the phone and called Pomeroy, Conrad and Dorgan’s North Dakota offices and verbally abused the staffers that answered the phone. I told them in no uncertain terms what I think of our representatves and told the staffers that they really ought to step back and take a deep reflective look at themselves and try to figure out how they can work for such a worthless, disgusting, walking waste of oxygen as their boss.

The fact that this imbecile is in congress doesn’t speak well of the voters in San Francisco.

sure if we know whats in the bill now it would make us sick and that is not a preventative measure. Someone knows what is in the bill and that should send shivers up all of our spines.

I guess Pelosi has never heard of Pandora’s box!

It’s really the hubris of those who consider themselves the ruling class. It’s classic marxism and Pelosi is of the politburo.

    Reading is for losers.

Cakewalk. what we know so far from Pelosi is that this bill will create 4 million new jobs AND lower and contain costs… somehow. Nobody has explained how you get something for less than nothing; but that’s still the promise.

Although she didn’t mention it here, I think that rainbow-crapping unicorns are also mandated.

Either this woman is extremely dumb, or she thinks the American people are.

    Actually, it’s probably both.

Okay, I think we just found the one person in America that’s actually dumber than the trolls here on SAB. Good grief Pelosi is a pile of Pelosi.

Exactly. When we’re all on government health care, then the government can regulate our diets for us? You know…for our own good.

And if you think that’s absurd, remember that New York is considering a ban on salt right now. For our own good.

This is simply a follow on to the media’s treatment of Obama – we have to elect him before we find out anything about him.
