Pelosi The Liar Marshalling Democrat Forces For War With The CIA

Pelosi lied about her knowledge of waterboarding. We know it. She knows it. Everyone capable of setting aside ideology and partisan politics in favor of a bit of objective observation knows it. But not only is Pelosi still not willing to admit it, she just can’t let it go. Now she’s launching a war against the CIA in a vain attempt to cover up her lies.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she expects Democrats who have accused senior CIA officials of repeatedly misleading Congress to further pursue the allegations.
“I’ve seen the letters from the members and obviously they have concern,” Pelosi said about the letters written by Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee and revealed Wednesday.
In the letters, Democrats said that CIA Director Leon Panetta told Congress last month that senior CIA officials have concealed significant actions and misled lawmakers repeatedly since 2001.
“The Intelligence Committee has the oversight responsibility for intelligence in the House and its equivalent committee in the Senate,” Pelosi said at her weekly news conference. “I’m sure they will be pursuing this in their regular committee process and that’s the way it will go.”
But Republicans say the allegations are just political maneuvering to protect Pelosi, who has been under constant fire since alleging that the CIA lied to her about enhanced interrogation techniques.

I wonder how many taxpayer dollars it’s going to cost us for Pelosi’s attempts at covering up her lies by muddying the waters with attacks on the CIA. Plenty, I’m sure.
But why should she care? It’s just other people’s money.

Ever since Pelosi made her accusation against the CIA, Republicans have demanded she provide proof that the CIA failed to tell her the truth. Pelosi said Thursday she was not present for Panetta’s testimony and that she learned about the letter through the press.

“You would have thought he would have started that in May when the speaker, the third most powerful person in America said the CIA misleads and lies to Congress consistently over a period of years. We are now in the middle of July and guess what? Silvestre Reyes and the Intelligence Committee have held zero hearings on the speaker’s allegations or on any of these more recent allegations. They’re not doing anything,” he said.

So Republicans are demanding proof from Nancy and asking why Reyes and the Democrats aren’t investigating the accusations if they are true. This is being afraid the truth will come out?

You might want to do a little less spin. The letter is from the director of the CIA describing problems as far back as 2001.

This is finally the truth that the previous adm had been hiding.

Interviews have been going on at CIA for months.

1. Politicians, no matter how big, lose vs the CIA because the CIA remembers when politicians were small. CIA knows where all bones are buried.

2. It’s so easy to leak a nasty bit of info on a politician…they are all corrupt in some way and if they chose to attack the CIA, then they can stand by for retaliation.

3. In an odd bit of irony, these are Dems going after a DEM led CIA.

Oh no. rob runs his mouth first, then just ignores the facts when he is proven wrong. It is common knowledge that the bush administration(cheney) was directing the CIA to cover up facts (lie to congress)that were counter to their goals. They are just now getting busted for it.

The only reason liar Pelosi is taking on the CIA is because liar Panetta is in charge. Between those two, no truth will come out.

I’m not afraid at all. Personally I think as soon as Pelosi said the CIA lied about it it should have been pursued immediately to find out who knew what and when.

Of course that didn’t happen, she decided she wasn’t going to talk about it anymore.

The Dems knew that they can accuse all they want. All Panetta can do is to disagree and say it ain’t so.

To reveal details would be to compromise priveliged info. They know that, so they fired this shot hoping the more gullible in the public and private sectors will nod and say, hmmm, maybe she wasn’t lying after all. And the left, of course, is grabbing onto this with both hands.

This will blow up in Pelosi’s face. The best she can hope for now is what she had before – a draw. But that ship may have sailed.
