Pelosi: Bush’s Israel Comments Beneath The Dignity Of The President

Because comments that are inconvenient truths for Democrats aren’t dignified, I guess.

Democratic House leaders are calling out President Bush for a speech in Israel in which he seemed to suggest that Sen. Barack Obama wants the United States to “negotiate with terrorists.”

In his speech, Bush said: “Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.”

The White House insists that Bush was “referring to a wide range of people, not any single person.” But Obama’s campaign says it appeared to be a swipe at him, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that Bush’s remarks were “beneath the dignity of the office of the president and unworthy of our representation” at the celebration of Israel’s 60th anniversary.

Referring to Sen. John McCain, Pelosi said: “I would hope that any serious person that aspires to lead the country, would disassociate themselves from those comments.”

You know what I think is beneath the dignity of the President?  Negotiating with people who use fear and terror to further their political agendas.

Why is it that Bush never mentioned Obama by name and even denied that Obama was in his mind at the time, but every Democrat adamantly insists it was about Obama? Do they protest too much?

I say that bush is right and Pelosi should shut her big yap. The woman is a moron. This is the best the dems have when it comes to leadership? Yikes we are in trouble as a nation.

Lessee....Pelosi would have us believe that it’s somehow smart to try and “negotiate” with people whose moral compass includes sending mentally retarded children into marketplaces wearing dynamite backpacks--as if one can assume that one who would murder innocent women and children would hesitate to lie his way to a completely fraudulent agreement.

Did I get that about right?

Bike Bubba:  Yes, you did.  But unless Barack Obama is defeated in November, Nancy pelosi - who has already met with Assad of Syria - will get her way in this and every other scheme she has in mind.

Obama must not win!

The stakes are high. Whether the issue is the economy, or energy, or the federal courts or national security, the right answers are coming not from the Democrats, but from the Republicans. As I have written before, the general voting public is more enamored by style than be substance which is why we have such poor presidential candidates.

We are so screwed come 2009.  Stop the world I want to get off!!

I could almost come back around on McCain if he were to call out Pelosi, Biden, and the other dimwits asserting how out of touch with reality these folks are.

Both the 911 commission report and the secretary of defense have agreed that talking with Syria and Iran is a good idea.  It’s not appeasement.

Both the 911 commission report and the secretary of defense

The 9-1 commission lost all credibility by having Jamie Gorelick on it, so you’re not exactly wowing anyone with statements like that. And Gates said you could talk to them, provided you had the right leverage...a huge qualifier. Obama really is trying to do Carter’s second term for him.

Hoss.  You are right.  These people don’t want anyone to be held accountable for their policies made by people like her.  They want to hide behind “being nice”

The 9-1 commission lost all credibility by having Jamie Gorelick on it

Gorelick, in my opinion with her “wall” policy that she instituted by herself was indirectly responsible for the FBI and the CIA not being able to exchange information about our enemy who attacked us on 9/11/01.

An interesting note to this flap: The Senator Bush referred to regarding his statement that had he only been able to talk to Hitler maybe he would not have invaded Poland, was a Republican Senator from Idaho in the Thrities. So, his appeasement comments, in context, were bi-partisan and NOT aimed at Obama or the Democrats.

Barry was just in SD wearing his flag pin (I guess we are to believe he is now some how loves the flag and is now patriotic, I guess he is proud of his country) and telling us how he is going to make the USA stronger and safer, I don’t know if there is anything more silly or stupid that has come from Barry’s mouth.

I don’t think Barry wants to get into this argument he will be eaten alive.
