Pelosi: Bipartisanship Is Unnecessary

Personally, I’m not a fan of bipartisanship in Washington. I’m for gridlock. But it’s worth noting that on the issue of bipartisanship, Nancy Pelosi is a flaming hypocrite.
Here are some comments she made just before the election last year:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says after the election she would like to see Congress back in session to pass a second stimulus package.
“Grow the economy, create good paying jobs, in the future in a way that is a green recovery, geared toward Main Street and is fiscally sound,” said Pelosi.
And on concerns that Democrats might control both the White House and Congress she said the following:
“Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from there. But I do tell you that if the Democrats win, and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan,” said Pelosi.

Here’s what she is saying now:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she didn’t come to Washington to be “bipartisan”, one day after shuttling through an $819 economic stimulus bill without a single Republican vote.
“I didn’t come here to be partisan, I didn’t come here to be bipartisan,” Pelosi told reporters at her weekly press conference. “I came here, as did my colleagues, to be nonpartisan, to work for the American people, to do what is in their interest.”
[...]
In contrast to her claim that her intent was to take a nonpartisan approach to passing the stimulus bill, a top aide to the Speaker struck a sharply partisan tone earlier in the day when he accused the GOP of acting in a “partisan and irresponsible manner” in objecting to the bill.
“There’s a pattern here of Republican economic mismanagement and Democrats stepping up to do what’s needed for the good of the country while Republicans acted in a partisan and irresponsible manner,” Brendan Daly, Pelosi’s top spokesman, wrote in a memo distributed to reporters Thursday morning.

Say one thing, do another.
It is, apparently, the Democrat way.

And she loaded the bill with loads of gop tax cuts, dropped programs the gop singled out, acted in a truly bi partisan manner and she got screwed.

It’s great to have the gop back in its natural place: A irrelevant whiny, obstructionist anti American shrinking party of losers.

    Good luck with that, gop.

Bad news, Bob. Giving my hard-earned money to someone else who doesn’t pay taxes in the first place is no sane person’s definition of a “tax cut.”

As for her “getting screwed” no Republican I have ever know is that perverted. You should have saved that thought for Friday the 13th.

You’re projecting. Those are your friends. Read it and weep:

No, seriously, I HATE this country and think it should disappear. No more united states. It’s the cause of most of the world’s problems. It’s like a cancer.

Just split it up and let it lose its power. Done. Finished.

You should try honesty sometime, bob. It won’t kill you.

The irony here is that the rabid Reich-Wing extremists rant about how “leftists” are the ones who are “collectivist”. Wake up an smell the chem-trails. The lunatic Republican hive-mind has spoken.

Hey lik, even your leader knows it.

“We’re all concerned about the fact that the very wealthy and the very poor, the most and least educated, and a majority of minority voters, seem to have more or less stopped paying attention to us. And we should be concerned that, as a result of all this, the Republican Party seems to be slipping into a position of being more of a regional party than a national one,” McConnell told the gathering.

“In politics, there’s a name for a regional party: it’s called a minority party. And I didn’t sign up to be a member of a regional party. … As Republicans, we know that commonsense conservative principles aren’t regional. But I think we have to admit that our sales job has been. And in my view, that needs to change.”

“Every House member from New England is a Democrat,” McConnell said. “You can walk from Canada to Mexico and from Maine to Arizona without ever leaving a state with a Democratic governor. Not a single Republican senator represents the tens of millions of Americans on the West Coast. And on the East Coast, you can drive from North Carolina to New Hampshire without touching a single state in between that has a Republican in the U.S. Senate”

Over the past two elections, Republicans lost 13 Senate and 51 House seats. The party’s base is shrinking as a percentage of the overall vote and Democratic voter registration is on the rise.

It’s called reality, call me if you need some help figuring it out.

I think post-menopausal women having temper tantrums like this are so funny looking. Fists all balled up like a pair of Hostess Sno Balls, a mere flicker of that all-but-forgotten old fire in her eyes.

‘Course up close she could pass for Robert “Kleagle” Byrd’s wife…

11 democrats and 177 republicans may not be the definition of bipartisan but compared to the exclusively democrat yea’s, it is clear the democrats are farther from bipartisan than the republicans on this vote.

They always define themselves as smarter, better, more loving, kinder, gentler, and all around superior. They define their ways similarly. They define all of this together as what is right, therefore neutral and nonpartisan. Any deviation is therefore non-neutral, partisan, not right.

That the public lacks the mindset for critical thinking of late is well known and they are abusing that with a vengeance.

Nothing lasts forever though, but the public’s refusal to take responsibility. When they realize the depths of their mistake, they will blame the Democrats they elected and not their electing them. They will be angry and catharsis is a bitch, especially when it is in self-righteous indignation.

One should always be careful of those who one uses to achieve a goal, how to use them, and how long lest the dog finally bite the master’s hand.

Not that I will shed a tear for Pelosi and company when the public has enough of them.

Who? RBB or Pelosi? Oh wait, funny looking, not sounding. Right.

The only whiny shrieking losers are the left who as Dino has pointed out a couple times, are more than content to use force to make the people adopt their political and social ideals, especially when it is someone else sticking their neck out to do it for them.

Conservatives like me, we live what we preach. Welfare as a hand up, and back onto the merry go round, not a way of life. Unemployment to tide people over between jobs while they pound pavement, not endless payoffs for loafers. Pay bills and taxes and contribute to society, you should get rewarded ahead of those who do nothing. Those who do nothing should not be getting any tax dollars rebated to them as if they had ever paid in.

If you lefties are soooooo much better than us, why don’t you put whatever few bits of money you have where your mouth is, and you go feed homeless people, you give it away to people in a housing project, you go pay for the next President McBoondoggle project, you lay your life on the line somewhere on Earth you think that needs it.

I grew up in a housing project and you lefties NEVER EVER EVER help anyone. You weren’t there for my family in the 70s during the heyday of big government socialistic programs for the poor, you spouted platitudes about things you knew nothing about, then you went back to your cushy college professorships, your newspaper copy rooms, your government jobs, and then home to your safe far removed lily white suburbs miles from any poor people and sat there trying to bend your arms into new positions patting yourselves on the back.

You’re lazy, ignorant, and dishonest, and you want the rest of the world to be like you so badly that it makes your teeth hurt and you don’t care who has to live the reality of your pretty arrogant theories.

Do us former poor people and all the present day poor people a favor and shut up and sit down on your suburban pressure treated ninety year warranty decks and read your New York Times and go back to tsk-tsking about Rush to your almost certainly perennially annoyed family.
