Pelosi Aide Told Her Waterboarding Was Used In 2003

Liar liar pants on fire:

WASHINGTON (CNN) — A source close to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi now confirms that Pelosi was told in February 2003 by her intelligence aide, Michael Sheehy, that waterboarding was actually used on CIA detainee Abu Zubaydah.
This appears to contradict Pelosi’s account that she was never told waterboarding actually happened, only that the administration was considering using it.
Sheehy attended a briefing in which waterboarding was discussed in February 2003, with Rep. Jane Harman, D-California, who took over Pelosi’s spot as the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

Apparently, Pelosi’s story now is that she didn’t object to the wateboarding because she hadn’t been told directly.

This source says Pelosi didn’t object when she learned that waterboarding was being used because she had not been personally briefed about it — only her aide had been told.

Pelosi’s in trouble, and it would seem as though the proverbial “long knives” are coming out for her in Congress given that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (who would presumably be next in line for the Speaker’s chair should Pelosi be forced to step down) is now calling for full disclosure.
If there were any justice in the world, Pelosi’s lies on this subject would get her booted from the Speaker’s chair. If not unelected in the next election entirely.

You’re an American, that’s your right.

LOL.. she said “they notified them”. She also said they told them that these methods “could be used, but not that they WOULD be used”.
… Pelosi is a vile person

Cons never accept information when it comes from unconfirmed “sources”…

Ya got this one a bit backwards, kid. The source here is actually confirming earlier published reports from CIA that Pelosi was briefed.

  • Hannitized

Can you see why I’m not that inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt?

Yep. At the same time, I don’t give Cheney the benefit of the doubt either.

  • e4bannan

I don’t believe this is the way Obama and the Dems were hoping this would play out. CNN is now saying President Obama has ordered government lawyers to object to the planned release of additional detainee photos.

    Pandoras Box.

The source is unidentified, and Cons like to dismiss those “sources” at every turn.

The fact that you are dancing around the fact that Rob is using this “source” to make some kind of argument supports my claim, regardless of how you spin it.

  • Hannitized

I am not defending Pelosi Greg. I am merely noting the change in principles from the right on accepting unidentified sources.

This is good information for future use.

Such as, unidentified sources close to Cheney coming fourth to confirm he pushed the intelligence community to come back with data, unverified or questionable, to support his position.

You will accept that now, correct?

The source is unidentified, and Cons like to dismiss those “sources” at every turn.

And you accept them no matter how far fetched. Do I believe it, yes, she was on the Intelligence Committee and the briefing notes from that period are quite specific. Her “recollection” of events has evolved from “I know nothing” to well “I knew we going to do it but I didn’t think we did” to “my aide went to the briefing so where he learned we did waterboard but he didn’t tell me” to “my aide says he told me”. Just like I predicted, Democrats DO NOT want to go down this “torture” prosecution trail. This is only the tip of the ice berg, wait until lawyers defending their client get discovery. Democrats are up to their neck in this and they have just as much to lose. I keep telling you, if you are in the chain of command anywhere and you know about a war crime and do nothing about it, you are just as guilty. Think RICO. Its all well and good to play political games but this one is as stupid as juggling nitro glycerin.

As much as it pains me, Hanni is right here.

Who the hell is this person? They’re “close to Pelosi”. Ok, that could be a gardener for as far as we know. Or, given Washington BS, an aide of Steny Hoyer, or just a figment of the reporters imagination.

Hell, it could be Steny Hoyer himself.

    Anonymous sources are a cover.

    H,

Re-read the wording of your comment above. Then find something worthwhile to quibble over. What I’ve stated is correct… again!

    Anonymous sources are a cover.

With the fascist Dems in power, a necessary cover for self-protection. Look what happens when you tell an inconvenient truth, like this one about Pelosi.
Examples: Sarah, Joe the Plumber, Carrie Prejean, Rick Santelli, Cramer…

It reminds me of Wile E, Coyote, Super Genius, when he is standing on a box trap with Bear, Mountain Lion or some other fierce animal on it. He is holding the door and opens it hoping the wild animal will attack the road runner. The animal then comes out of the cage and attacks Wile E. Never play with fire, it will burn you every time.

if CNN is willing to go with this source giving up the dirt on Pelosi, then the source must be good.

    think about it

    She should be waterboarded

  • sayanything-4625

As long as you have briefing notes and other sources to back up your claim. It would also help if his own story had changed each time another identified source proved him wrong. This isn’t some he said-she said deal Hanni, briefing notes from the time in question, that haven’t been altered or have no reason to state that Nancy Pelosi was there if she really wasn’t state she was there. She said she wasn’t, then when the proof was rolled out, she changed her story. Can you see why I’m not that inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt?

  • Hannitized

So this source you are accepting is NOT anonymous??

Cons never accept information when it comes from unconfirmed “sources”, but in this case, they will make an exception.

She, along with the Liar-in-Chief obviously never were given appropriate correction for said behavior as children. Although, it’s hard to distinguish their behavior from children anyway.
